My stay at the Sukantara Cascade Resort and Spa was an unforgettable experience. The resort boasts beautiful natural surroundings including a stunning waterfall view from Room one and delightful peacock visits. The room was clean and well-equipped. The location is perfect for visiting the Elephant sanctuary and exploring the mountains. The taxi service through the hotel, especially driver Kai, was top-notch and the staff were amazing, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We indulged in 3-hour spa sessions which were a sublime experience; excellent scrubs and massages that justify the slightly elevated prices. Highly recommend!

The exceptional setting of this hotel with its waterfall simply amazed us. The staff was helpful and friendly, thereby making our stay all the more enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the Northern-Thai style Kantoke dinner, savored in front of the waterfall - an unforgettable moment! Moreover, interacting with the peacocks, which freely come to the balcony and roam around the hotel, added a touch of magic to our experience. Highly recommended

This is my favorite hotel I have ever stayed at. You take a taxi in from Chiang Mai and a transported ino a peaceful paradise. The duck laden waterfall greets you and you are immediately at ease. That is before you are introduced to one of the many beautiful peacocks roaming the ground. The Chiida Spa is world class. We loved the relaxation paired with the sounds of flowing water and chirping birds. The rooms are beautifully appointed thai bungalows that make you appeeciate your surroundings. The charming decoration is abundant and provide something to admire. The staff is very helpful. The food is excellent and a very reasonably priced. You won't want to leave! Love this place!

Peaceful bliss! An amazing resort off the beaten path where you’re surrounded by a lush jungle, waterfall and river, and peacocks and ducks galore. This resort is perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful stay and a break from hectic Bangkok, Phuket, or downtown Chaing Mai. It’s a ~45-50 min (800 baht) taxi from Chaing Mai. Treatments at the Chiida spa are first rate and amplify your peaceful stay. Very good breakfast choices (included) and the restaurant for lunch and dinner was on par with restaurants in the city. Good WiFi.

Beautiful hotel located in the mountains. The food was wonderful, as was the service. They also provide nice services for transportation to the city, including a local vendor you can rent a car from. We rented the car and it was well worth it. I've seen some reviews complaining about bugs and insects but it is not bad at all. Of course there are some mosquitoes and ants but you should expect that if you are going to stay in a hotel in the middle of the jungle. I highly recommend this hotel, its a great escape!

Where to start..? Travelled in August 2023 as a family of three, two adults and one little guy, 10. Stayed in the waterfall two bedroom villa, number 7, best room in the house for five nights. First the good stuff, lovely location, intertwined with the waterfalls, spacious rooms, great restaurant, exactly as described on their website (which does need updating for various reasons - see below) Needs improvement. To be honest if on booking via the website they hadn’t taken 100% of our money straight away non refundable (quite unusual nowadays) we’d have changed to elsewhere, why? Well apart from the confirmation email there was a complete lack of communication, I mean nothing..! No further emails , no answering of multiple phone calls (at least 7 times over many weeks), Facebook messages, instagram messages.. nothing…! We were only assured that the place actually existed when we asked our previous hotel to phone them to check that they actually had our reservation, funnily enough-they answered this time, worryingly our previous hotel said “oh yes, the sukantara used to be the best”… not liking this word “used”.. but onwards we embarked. The owner came over to our table on our first evening at dinner and said, quote “tell all your friends about us”, so we hauled her over for a chat, pretty much the above… her response “I was travelling..”.. right, for three months?! My wife even showed her the messages sent.. we also suggested that the website that hasn’t been updated for four years needs an update.. (hint.. the response isn’t that you’ve had problems with the internet, but now have a generator..) we mean you have a problem with your internet presence, like the eagle zip line tour, doesn’t exist anymore as we were desperately contacting the tours mentioned directly, as the sukantara were not responding to us, thereby the sukantara are losing money.. and frankly, after staying there, the sukantara needs a money injection and fast..! You need to replace the staff that are too scared to answer the phone as they can’t speak English, you need a marketing revamp either outsourced or in house for your online and social media channels and get these active and up to date. But most importantly you need to communicate, timely with your clients and potential clients. You need your 1* torn paper menus updated to match your 5* priced dishes, you need to clean up the whole place and replace broken items, remove the plastic bags out of the waterfalls, clear up the waterfall branches and dead debris and remove the plastic bottles in the stream which was our first impression when we sat for the welcome drink. You need to sort out the green, yes the green!! Main pool. In the room, the safe didn’t work, the phone didn’t work to call someone to fix the safe… one coffee and two bottles of water, for three people, seriously? Stained bedding, bath robes with huge holes. No towels or drying capability in the main reception bathroom, 5 days in a row… You need to t

We stayed in the cottage for only one night. Love the hospitality here, the staff are very attentive and friendly, we received welcome complimentary drinks when we arrived at the cascade. It is so beautiful, with green scenery, peacocks & ducks around the premise. The rooms were big and clean, just be careful with the floor and go bare feet it gets very slippery with socks on. The Internet is good we had no problem with it. I sleep well to the sound of the water rushing and I can not hear the birds, ducks or peacocks at night, they go to sleep too. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, and it is a bonus with the waterfall view. Such a unique experience, everything is just so picturesque!

The whole experience of my stay here was nothing but that of a positive one, although there was one issue which was actually having to leave, all the team who running the place were so friendly and nothing was a problem. I did have an issue booking through a third party but the Hotel were so quick to respond when I needed support and to work a way to resolve my problem which saved the day. The food was tremendous and fresh and the actual place I don’t really have words for as it was out of this world! It’s the best spiritual supermarket I have ever shopped at and I will be staying again when I return, thank you to all the wonderful people involved with making my stay so great :) Tony

I recently stayed at Sukantara for five days with my wife and one-year-old daughter. When we arrived, my wife took one look, turned to me, and said: "Are we on our honeymoon!?" Her question captured the majesty of Sukantara. It is an absolutely beautiful resort nestled on a waterfall. The Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to make us feel at home and even offered to help watch our daughter while my wife and I ate breakfasts and dinner. This is a resort in every sense - we did not want to leave or go on day trips - we wanted to rest, relax, eat delicious and carefully prepared meals and enjoy the beautiful nature around us. If you have a day or week Sukantara must be experienced. If you do want to go on some adventures they can provide a car and driver to experience nearby elephant sanctuaries, the botanical gardens, and the beautiful Mon Jam (must see!). We will be back.
