Huvafen Fushi

The best place to relx on the small calm island. The bungalows are newly renovated, some with two pools. The infinity pool is great. The butler service is amazing and dinner and lunch facilities are very good. SUP is available complimentary.

Another marvelous experience at Huvafenfushi, this time with my mum. The combo of beautiful and premium accomodations, the short distance from Male, its amazingly kind staff, its active marine life, the impeccable management and the serene atmosphere all around the island make it for me the best place in Maldives. Me and my mum enjoyed it a lot and still dream about it. Thanks a ton to the butlersDidy & Vicky, the guy who cleaned our and crafted it to perfection every day twice a day Juinad. The Russian ladies at the breakfast and durian the welcome, Amid and the Egyptian guy for the good time underwater and the good conversations - Anu, Mua and Iranian guy for restaurant services which was always 10/10. Special thanks to Noel to make it happen. I won’t recommend this place. Until the next time 🫶🏼

This was our second visit to Huvafen Fushi - we'd previously visited in February 2023 and enjoyed it so much that we more or less booked straightaway to go back at the same time this year. We couldn't fault the facilities on our first visit but during late 2023 there has been a programme of upgrades to the villas and other areas on the island. We stayed in a beach villa (we always prefer these as there's something magical about stepping straight out onto the beach) and these now have 2 plunge pools as standard which was one of the upgrades. The reason we love Hufaven Fushi is that we are made to feel so welcome by everyone - from General Manager Noel to all of the team. It really does feel like a home from home and is a perfect blend of luxury and a relaxed environment. Service is excellent, the food produced by the amazing chef team is to a very high standard and the whole package just works as you hope it would. It’s always slightly unfair to single individuals out for praise when there are so many unsung heroes who perhaps aren’t as visible to clients but could you please pass on our praise and thanks to Anu, to Invar at the Spa and also the the head chef at Salt (can’t remember his name unfortunately). A very special mention in despatches is needed for our butler Nazeeh who is a real star and looked after us so well throughout the stay - constantly checking with us that everything was ok and with such a great attitude. There’s something magical about Huvafen Fushi. You feel a sense of peace and tranquility like few other places in the world. We both decompressed within hours, not days. Whether that was the seamless greeting at the airport, where we freshened up in the HF private air-conditioned lounge before being escorted a short distance to the waiting boat transfer, which was also air conditioned luxury; or whether it was the warm greeting at the pier, where we met our Thakuru (butler) who was our guide, our fixer and our friend for the week. Vicky was incredible - he always seemed to appear at the right moment and was always available on call. Like all the staff, he was authentic, helpful, respectful, unobtrusive, and our day didn’t seem complete unless we’d had chance to chat to him to share the experiences of the day. Naturally, he was full of useful information and suggestions for us newbies, and a large part of why the holiday was so memorable and enjoyable. We split our stay in half, staying initially in a beach bungalow, before moving to an overwater bungalow, just for the experience of seeing sharks swimming underneath through the glass viewing panel in the floor. There was a distinct windward and leeward side to the island, and thankfully our bungalow was on the windward side, which meant a lovely breeze all day. All the accommodation has now been refurbished I believe, and the rooms are elegant, functional and luxurious. The outdoor shower in the beach bungalow was a joy to use. The food was excellent across all meals and all restaurants. Salt served delicious Japanese style cuisine, Celcius was the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, with a really comprehensive and varied menu. Foglianis was the casual lunch restaurant, which again was great. The fresh reef fish ceviche was a particular favourite. Service was superb, just the right spacing between courses, and lovely engaging staff. It’s unfair to single people out, everyone was amazing, but Juma always made us smile and Chef Dhulan came out to say hello and share the recipe for his incredible Asian style beef dressing. There are several activities/experiences which you can book at extra cost, but we just preferred to relax and take advantage of the wonderful house reef for snorkelling. We saw eagle rays, stingrays, nurse sharks and reef sharks in abundance. The highlight was swimming under the overwater restaurant, which the sharks kind of use as home. There were about 20-25 swimming around, so take a GoPro and you’ll get some amazing footage. We also did the coral planting experience with the in house marine biologist, which was pretty cool and helps to replenish the reef. It’s the least any of us can do. And now we have an excuse to go back, to see how it’s growing! A quick word too for the GM, Noel. Under his leadership and tutelage, the operation is seamless in its excellence. The best resort in Maldives. Great house reef and dive center, too! They also have a great wine experience, which is pretty unique in this part of the world. It's an underground cellar with a really good wine and fine diving experience. Underwater SPA is beautiful too. Their butlers are very competent and caring. Overall, just about everything about this place is amazing.

We spent a week on this beautiful small Island in an Ocean Villa wirh Pool. The Villas are big and spacious with wonderful Sunset Views. The food is amazing. We enjoyed every meal. Breakfast is Buffet with fresh to order items. Dinner is a la carte. The sushi at Salt is heavenly. We spent a lot of time in the water with snorkeling. Either at the housereef or by boat. The Float Dive team did an awesome job and even organized an unscheduled Turtle Reef snorkel just for us. Top notch! The spa has an underwater treatment room and this is not to be missed. You can enjoy your massage while watching the Ocean Life. We even saw a black tip shark swimming by. Thank you to our butler Didi and the whole team at Huvafen for crafting an unforgettable stay!

Oh my goodness what a place! This was our second time the first being 4 years ago just before Covid hit the world. We had to go back because it was just wonderful then but they exceeded our expectations and we didn’t want to leave. Everything has been modernised without losing the simple style of a pure paradise Island. It is difficult to put into words how lovely this place is. The staff are friendly and calmly efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. Everything about it feels right and you feel like you have come home 😊 It was my birthday while we were there and they certainly made it very special. From a message in the plunge pool when I returned from breakfast to a scuba diver appearing in the water during our “underwater” dining experience in the evening. Incidentally the food is delicious too. Absolutely heavenly week… looking forward to going back again one day. Congratulations to the manager Noel and all his team. Amazing island although it’s small but the layout is so good that you hardly see anyone around. We stayed in a sunset over water villa and it was amazing. Breakfast area was breathtaking and food was amazing. If you are into a small island (means no kids with crying babies) this is the one for the ultimate rest and relax. The service staff here are out of the world they provide the service with passion. Nothing is a trouble. Definitely will be back.

It was our first stay at Maldives, we have spend the celebration of the New Year there. It was wonderful, magic and paradise. We love the hotel, everything was perfect! The hotel makes you feel like a king and queen and they do everything to make sure your stay is perfect. We had a 2-bedroom pavillon and we had our own butler, this service was wonderful! This hotel is smaller than other hotels in Maldives what makes that the service is wonderful and also the food is more than delicious. At breakfast you have a buffet and you can choose site dishes from the card which are excellent. For lunch and dinner you have very exquisite à-la-carte restaurants. Kayak and sups are included in the price, my husband went on a fishing trip and they prepared the fish the next day for supper, it was delicious. I did 2 spa treatments that were very good! In the spa you can have a look at the beautiful fishes in the sea, the have build an underwater spa in the hotel what is wonderful... Huvafen Fushi is paradise... we want to come back one time.
