Hotel di Northern Quarter, Manchester

The lifestyle was super Location: 5/5 The location is fantastic, situated right in the heart of downtown. It’s within walking distance to major attractions, restaurants, and shopping centers. Public transportation is also easily accessible, making it convenient to explore the city. Cleanliness: 4/5 The hotel maintains a high standard of cleanliness. The lobby, common areas, and my room were spotless. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough, ensuring that everything was in order each day. Service: 4/5 The staff at Grandview Hotel were friendly and professional. Check-in and check-out processes were smooth and efficient. The concierge was particularly helpful in providing recommendations and assisting with reservations. Amenities: 4/5 The hotel offers a range of amenities, including a well-equipped fitness center, a relaxing spa, and a rooftop pool with stunning city views. The on-site restaurant serves a delicious breakfast buffet with a variety of options. However, room service was a bit slow during peak hours. Room: 3.5/5 The room was comfortable and well-appointed, with modern furnishings and a cozy bed. The bathroom was spacious and stocked with high-quality toiletries. However, the soundproofing could be improved, as I could occasionally hear noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms. Value for Money: 4/5 Considering its prime location and the quality of services and amenities, the Grandview Hotel offers good value for money. While it may be on the pricier side, the overall experience justifies the cost.

It is the second time I have stayed and just like the first time Amjad and his team were so welcoming and even remembered me from the month prior! Room was superb and all staff were accommodating. Mohammad and the night team were were brilliant when coming back in the early hours. Thank you all! All staff are dress so smartly and very professional while creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

The front desk staff when we first arrived was rude to us and wanted to charge us 20 pounds for an earlier checkin that had been already requested. Then the other staff was sweet and helpful, so that was much better. The AC in the room wasn't working, they didn't have maintenance staff in the evening, so they gave us a fan, which helped but not much, the room was still very hot. Then, 3am on the last night, the hotel's fire alarm rung, everybody evacuated, but thankfully it was a false alarm. Lastly, the cleaningness of the bathroom was really poor, could see mould and stains everywhere. The bed was too small for a couple, and there were no electric plugs by the bed. Probably would stay somewhere else next time in town.

The room was of a great standard l. The bed was soft and you are able to have a lovely night's sleep. The bath was an added bonus! The location in the northern quarter of Manchester is good. At Christmas time you are close to the markets and festive vibe! You are just short walk from lots of shops and there are plenty of bars and eateries around too! Overall, it was a great place for a short city trip away.

Selina was just perfect. A very friendly welcome at arrivals, helpful and happy to answer any questions or give directions. They even give you a free drink and 25% discount at an adjacent bar (Wilson’s) The room itself was spotlessly clean with a large bed, warm bathroom and natural light. I can definitely recommend staying in Selina for a city centre visit.

Judging from the other reviews it seams like this is a hotel of two halves. The nice half, and the not-so-nice half. Unfortunately I paid £120 to stay in the not-so-nice half for one night - the 'Studio Suite' (sounds nice doesn't it? - it's not so great). The room looked nothing like the pics in my opinion (see attached) which gives a luxury vibe. In reality, its a basic, budget room sitting on the 1st floor, so street noise and no aircon meant the windows were closed and the room was hot. To be fair, it was clean enough, and the hotel manager and receptionist did their best to help but, as the hotel was full, I couldn't move rooms. Given the price and the expectations from the pictures/ website I was really disappointed with the reality (See pics attached to this review).

I’ve booked a room with a bathtub, and the staff designated a room without it. I can accept they could make a mistake, but the staff didn’t apologize for his mistake when I asked for a room change.

Was a little unsure what to expect here when walking through some streets loaded with graffiti etc., but we needn’t have worried. The hotel was excellent. The staff took our bags from us and kept them safe when we arrived early. The bar area was full of character and food looked good. Came back later to check and we were well looked after by the team. The room we’d booked was very reasonably priced and had a separate area where the bed settee was for our daughter, a nice comfy bed in the main bedroom, tasteful decor throughout, good shower and wash products, great coffee bags and bottles of water. Large smart TVs (x2). Nice and close to Arndale Market, some nice eateries and the shopping centre. Really couldn’t fault the place and would definitely be tempted to return if in Manchester again.
