Cliff House at Pikes Peak

The staff was professional and friendly. The PT Barnum bedroom did not have a working hot tub. The New Years Party was OUTSTANDING AND FUN!

It is not new or modern, but we didn't expect that and, in fact, were looking for antique charm, which this is! Centrally located in Manitou Springs historic distric, so walking around all the shops and restaurants was super easy. We used the valet, so parking wasn't even a consideration or issue--again, super easy and worth the money. Lovely stay for an overnight or quick weekend getaway!

A wonderful historic property. Nice restaurant and convenient bar for a beer after a hike. Staff were very helpful, in particular Kara - front desk manager. Very good location to explore the town.

I find it difficult for me to be providing any ratings for the Clift House. My very first experience at the hotel did not go well. I paid $503 for a beautiful room, $20 for valet parking (the hotel does not have any self parking), and I make dinner reservations in advance to enjoy the hotel restaurant. They obviously know I’m going to be spending at least $800 at the hotel for my one night stay. Yet, when I showed up to check in at 2:06 PM, they told me it would cost me $30 because check check-in time was 3 PM. In other words, whomever owns this property has the absurd policy of charging its patrons $30 to put their bags in their room prior to 3 PM. You show up 54 minutes early and they want an extra $30 for you to take your bags to the room instead of handing them the bags for them store for you for 54 minutes. Whoever owns this restaurant needs to get half a brain, and better business sense. I cannot blame the staff. The staff was very apologetic, but told me they had no choice because that was the policy of the owner of the hotel. They did not have the authority to change their boss’s ridiculous policy. Other than that, the hotel was excellent. They just need new ownership, and hopefully it’s purchased by someone who has business sense, as well as a little common sense!

Location was great, staff was very helpful. Comfortable amenities in an historic building. Loved it.

The bathtub/jacuzzi was dated and the chairs in the rooms had an odor. The Red Mountain bar and Grill was closed, was advertised on the coupon as open it was closed 5:00 PM on Monday the 6/29/2026.

Well...it IS a very old, historic hotel which is what makes it fun and enjoyable. However, you can tell that they have not been able to invest any money into this gem in a long time. The room was super outdated and needed lots of TLC but it was clean and the bed was super comfy. The lights worked. The gas fireplace worked. The A/C worked. The main thoroughfares look pretty nice and well maintained but once you get off the beaten path the place is in shambles. Super nice staff!! Too bad they don't make enough to keep it up to standard! Price is high for what you get.

Beautiful historical place to stay and so convenient to walk and do everything. Our only issue (and really it wasn’t an issue,was just an inconvenience) was that they are working on the front entrance so my husband had to drop me off so I could go in and ask where to park. Loved this place and highly recommend!

Under construction. Difficult check in as the driveway was closed. Valet parking was good but there was noise. Be aware. Staff was helpful and accommodating except for the restaurant bar which wouldn’t deliver or serve food on the patio. Overall would love to stay there when it’s completed.
