We stayed in this pleasant hotel in Marrakech for 4 nights. We didn’t want a Riad in the middle of the city, although lovely we didn’t want to have to navigate narrow cobbled streets with our luggage. The Dellarosa was perfectly located for us, a taxi straight to the door yet within easy walking distance to the old city through a lovely park. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and any minor issues were resolved quickly. We had a junior suite that gave us some extra space with a good balcony. We found the bed uncomfortable and there was no mattress protector. We mentioned this to reception and when we were next in the room, they had added a mattress topper and a flat sheet. There is a small pool but we didn’t use it so can’t comment. The spa is lovely and treatments are very reasonable. I had a very good full body massage that was half the price I would pay at home. There is a small bar and 2 restaurants. The only disappointment was the food and restaurant service which was a bit hit and miss. We were given a set 3 course menu with a choice of 2 starters, mains and desserts. The choice was limited and on one occasion I couldn’t eat any of the starters so just had a roll. They don’t understand the concept of a side plate for bread as we always had to ask for one. Portions were small and the best dinner we had was on a night when they served a buffet as the other restaurant was hosting an event. By the second day they had run out of glasses of red and white wine and diet coke, they only had wine by the bottle. The restaurant manager did take this on board and explained that stocks were low as it was the month of Ramadan but this should have been planned for. Breakfast was basic too with limited cereal and choice of bread. The second day they had run out of croissants and pastries. The toaster is very strange. On the whole it was a good 3 star hotel that I would recommend for a short break.
