Hotel berhampiran Matur plast, Marrakech

What a gem of a property in the Accor catalog of accommodation and hospitality! I am a senior, solo, single traveler, and Ibis rooms are just fine with me! The Wi-Fi could be a little bit better, but that's the problem with the vendor and the Internet service Provider, not the Ibis. Although this Ibis would be within their rights to demand better service- in 2023, with 100+ rooms. I came directly from an Ibis in Lisbon, which had fewer items for breakfast, and no Chef for evening dinner! The breakfast is a wonderful mix of Moroccan, Arabic, French foods, but also American/English. Scrambled eggs are made without dairy, and I brought my own gluten-free bread from Carrefour to be sure. While they do have a container of Honey, I bring my own, as I don't like touching containers and spoons touched by other customers... another customer absconded with my honey yesterday, and one of the wait staff had to retrieve it! Three languages are spoken here: Moroccan, Arabic, French, and plenty of English. Any word that is too specific can be translated on any of the web translation sources. Like when I needed to explain that DHL was bringing a package with my gluten-free chocolate chip cookies that Carrefour does not stock! There's been some shuffling of the wait staff in the last few days, but besides being new, quiet, and shy, they are all talented and all understand hospitality. The evening dinner is attended to by the top echelon of the hotel staff and everything is more than fine – which in my case means a very plain and simple American taste. Since I don't carry currency, the evening food bill goes on my room tab. Breakfast was part of the booking in the first place, but I don't fully understand what ”half-board” means, if that means evening dinner, so I will be inquiring about that. Being next-door to the train station means it's a three minute walk to excellent sight seeing and people watching. And McDonald's of you so care, and at least two mobile phone SIM shops. Carrefour is a 10 minute walk, and there is a shopping mall which is about a 20 minute walk which I will be visiting for recreation purposes and window shopping, to get a feel for the retail culture of this city. And people watching! I did read about the potable water situation on a Moroccan tourism page. This Ibis has plenty of bottled water, so just ask- at Reception and of course in the Restaurant.  I also read about cash versus credit card. The three places that I have spent money at have all accepted cards. It is currently Ramadan, but this Ibis respects International tourists' needs and wants. No disruption of service- and the staff seem to be very happy to be celebrating the holiday. My room had two minor maintenance issues, which were resolved quickly. The garden is beautiful and peaceful, and well manicured. I have stayed with other brand name chain hotels in the US and Europe. There is nothing in this historic building that is outdated, or in need of renovation. The most important

Superbe hotel Bien placé et très bien fréquenté. Chambre spacieuse, Propreté irréprochable , literie confortable. Un accueil qui vous fait sentir comme chez vous, personnel très gentil et serviable. Une pensée pour Kenza à la réception qui a vraiment été adorable et à l’écoute de la moindre demande. Piscine sur le rooftop très appréciée. J’y retournerai les yeux fermés

Dirty cutlery, noisy location and poor service…. First problem, I was staying on the four floor, which was an issue as one lift was out of action and the other two lifts are unbelievably slow. The room was dark and even with the lights on difficult to see anything without the use of a torch. Thankfully my room was facing the pool as many colleagues who also had been staying complained of noise through the night from the road, obviously in rooms that had been facing the road. I still had an 8am wake up from the building site next door though. I only had breakfast at the hotel - but found the cutlery dirty and some cutlery had some sticky residue on them. Food was ok but far from the standard I had found in some of the local restaurants. At checkout I had a problem with the laundry bill, I was offered only a 5% discount on the laundry. I ended up paying in full after being threatened by the police for taking a photo of the invoice. Once in my taxi, back to the airport the taxi driver said there is always a problem with the hotel at checkout….clearly not an isolated case. The hotel did have some old charm but very much tainted by poor service, dirty cutlery and a noisy location. Avoid.

Stayed in this hotel for 7 nights arriving the 27th Feb. I am slightly disabled so email beforehand to ensure I had a room near the lift and found the replied from email to be very helpful and accomodating. On arriving I found the hotel to be in an excellent location a short walk from all the amenities of the new city and a 50Dhm taxi ride to the main square taxi's pass regularly so there is no problem getting one. On arriviving I found the reception staff to be extremely helpful, polite and cheerful, a Safety Deposit Box costs 25 Dhm per night. The young lady on reception was extremly helpful, always cheerful and smiling and ver polite. The rooms were immaculately clean and cleaned everyday sometimes a little late but never the less cleaned to the normal high standard. The hotel is a little dated but I would call it homely and cosey. The bar serves excelent food of a very hight standard and the staff are very polite and attendtive - one comment is that the menu is the same every night and for long stays it would be an added advantage if there was a Today's Sepcial on the menu. Check out time is 12pm but there is a baggaeg room if your flight is not till later. Al in all an excellent stay and well recommended with no disturbances at all - highly recommended Thanks to the team

C’est la deuxième fois et je suis très contente , Je suis une personne terriblement maniaque Et dans cette hôtel j’étais très satisfaite de tout les services De l’arrivée aux départs . Si il y’a quelque chose à dire !!! Pour moi il serait la distinction de qualité supérieure.

Recommended this Riad by our personal travel consultant who we trust implicitly. She didn't let us down! On arrival (tucked away from the hassle and bussle), we were greeted by Khalid and Sylvie. Mint tea was provided and welcomed after a 2 hour queue getting passed customs at the airport. Khalid gave us a lot of info and showed us around the Riad. It's beautiful, well kept and an experience in itself. The pool was closed from day 2-4 due to damage from a previous client but Sylvie kept us updated on its progress. Our 5 day trip certainly wasn't impacted by the closure. Rooms are as expected in an 18th century palace. We wanted an authentic experience and we got it. Tv didn't work but an engineer was called and it was corrected. Breakfast was good, the selection changed daily and set us up for the day, the sun terrace was lovely. We ate at the riad once and again couldn't fault the food. Boarding passes were printed for us, any questions or queries were dealt with. We would definitely come back to this amazing place. Stayed here as part of an EasyJet package and wasn't sure exactly what to expect as it was our first time in Marrakech.. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and served mint tea, local pastries and water..........and some fuss from a local cat. The hotel was very clean, beautiful inside and cool in temperature given the heat outside. Our room was also clean, well presented if not a little basic. Obviously, you have to be mindful that hotel star ratings are different from the UK. During our week long stay all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The rooftop spaces are beautiful and you don't really notice any of the hustle and bustle below. The only note really is that people of a larger size or restricted mobility may struggle on the stairwells as they are pretty steep and narrow. Hold those banisters tight! In a nutshell, this riad is excellent, in a prime location and the staff........and cat's.........were friendly with impeccable service. This seemed to be the case throughout Marrakech as the people are so welcoming.
