U Studios Masterton

There was no hot water in any of the taps. Bed was comfy and lots of extra blankets available. Two heaters needed to warm the room. No one at reception had to ring a number to get key lock. Would have been nice to be prepared. At 6am who do you go to for help

I was appalled at the price of $191 per night. At that price I’d expect A place of pretty nice standard but this was not up to that by far. Very dated and pokey. No room to swing a cat so to speak. The owner was rather unwelcoming and off hand. I’d not recommend this place to my friends.

Not great. No lights on the property so can’t see anything if you arrive at night. Not enough parking had to park on the grass next to kid’s playground. Room was very tired and definitely not worth the $200 per night. Heating was 2 floor fan heaters - not sufficient in winter. Got given the weong instructions to find key to room and had to make another call.

Average motel style run by a hotel group. Ordered through booking.vom breakfast included. Nothing delivered so sent a message at 9:00pm. No reply. Office unattended at 8:00am so telephoned. Got a central customer service. They tried to contact the duty manager but got voice mail. They turned up as we were about to leave so offered a credit which was good but a bit late

We booked through the Flight Centre as we had vouchers to use up, we were terribly disappointed with the room 8. The photos online look good but….Travellers beware there is no reception, only a phone number. On arrival the fron glass door has a massive big crack in the glass from top to bottom. There is no heat pump/air con but two heaters were provided. Sadly these have been let go. I stayed here a few years ago when it was not part of the ‘U Studios Group’ and it was lovely. The toilet door has been removed, the bathroom basin cracked, the glass ware and crockery etc filthy and disgusting. We washed this first up but chose to eat dinner out and booked another motel for the next night even though we had already paid for two nights. The next morning we packed up and went out for breakfast too. The kitchen is so old and the place smells it to. Rodent traps very evident. There was no cover/sheet over the duvet but the sheets themselves were clean on a very uncomfortable bed. The light shade was mouldy, the blinds were useless, the curtains were strung over the door. There had been an attempt at a new paint job in places. All the rooms looked the same hence why we left early.

Terrible experience. 0/5. You cant check in within 24hrs of booking (in the small print), couldnt get hold of them by phone, no one in reception, had to book another hotel for the evening. Hotel would not refund or even offer a discount for not using room. Disgraceful service.
