We stayed for 2 nights and wished we stayed longer! Room was spacious and clean with an amazing view on the high floor. We had dinner buffet at Weligama Kitchen and food was great! Breakfast served there was delicious with great variety from Western , Asian, Indian but the Sri Lankan style breakfast was the best! Tide Bar is a great place to relax and have drinks with scrumptious snack too. We spent most of our time at the resort and it was very relaxing. The environment was suitable for couples and family at the same time. Lastly, service was top notch, everyone was friendly and helpful. TK and Kalpani from Weligama kitchen always checking on us, Sachinthaka , Asanka and Dharmika from Tides always cheerful and greeting us when we head there for drinks. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends visiting beautiful Sri Lanka!

Ce petit hôtel d'une dizaine de chambres est tenu par le patron et sa femme, tous deux très sympathiques. L'hôtel est situé tout près de la plage, dans une rue perpendiculaire à la rue principale, donc beaucoup plus calme!! Les chambres sont immenses, idem pour le lit XXL, au moins 2m20 de largeur! Très grande terrasse également... Le petit déjeuner est complet: toast avec beurre et confiture, omelette, thé ou café, salade de fruits ou jus de fruits frais selon les jours, du fromage blanc, et même de délicieuses crêpes au chocolat ou à la banane... Il y a beaucoup d'espaces par rapport au petit nombre de chambres, et c'est très bien comme çà. Le patron est exceptionnellement serviable, il sait toujours répondre à la moindre demande, il peut vous changer l'argent à un bon taux.... Tout était donc parfait !!!

This is the WORST hotel we have visited in our 20 days trip to SriLanka. Not worth it for the price payed. This hotel should be rated 0 zero NOT 4.3. We have visited many countries never seen a rude receptionist (both) like in this hotel. Very bad customer service. I am now reading some of the previous reviews where other customers have experienced the same. I hope after reading this review hotel management take proper action and train their staffs. We will NEVER come back to this place again. Before booking we saw the rating 4.3 and believed this will be great hotel. ALL FAKE. I cant believe someone rated 5 this hotel I would rate 0. Starting from the hallway its either broken or not cleaned. Washroom shower with mold and smell. Shower handle does not work properly. Shower sliding door need two people to hold and close. Balcony railings are broken, didn't let my children out for safety. For the wifi you need to call everytime as the password keeps on changing. Through out our stay in this hotel all I did was keep calling the reception for washroom tissue, water bottle, wifi password, etc. We wasted our two days in this hotel. Most of the time NO response or they will say ”Will call you back” and never did. One point we complained re their service and this is the exact response of the receptionist ”We are like this you can find another place if you don't like here”. After this some staffs are staring at us, we didn't feel safe in this hotel. PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE and DONT FEEL SAFE HERE. This is not the experience we want from SriLanka. DO NOT BOOK this hotel. First their service is really bad. Never seen a receptionist very rude and attitude and talking to their guest so bad-mannered We booked halfboard and their dinner menu has only one item nothing else, and that's a pasta with Chicken. I am coming from aboard where I eat that every day I don't need to spend money to come Srilanka to eat pasta. When we requested for Srilankan food they said we have to pay additional. We spoke to the receptionist and said that we didn't have any issue with other places we stayed why your dinner menu is not good. Her response was ”this is what we provide for our set menu”. This is our 7th hotel in Srilanka and we didnt experience anything like this in any of the other 6 hotels. If you walk 5 min from the hotel you can get good food for reasonable price. Why I have to pay for the halfboard and additional again. Worse experience. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE - WILL NOT RECOMMEND

The hotel is conveniently adjacent to the beach. The rooms are surprisingly quite affordable for the area. The family and I enjoyed the amazing pool that they had. Best part of this hotel is that the beach bar is located right opposite near to the beach, away from the hotel which means families can really enjoy without being worried. Food is brilliant, with them offering Sri Lankan, Italian and Western food. Staff is always friendly and very hospitable. Thank you Rumesh for everything during our stay.

Проживали в отеле в июле 2024г., всё очень понравилось. Отзывчивый персонал, заселение и выезд из отеля не заняли много времени. На завтраках порадовало обилие фруктов, на ужин очень много сладостей. Меню завтрака и ужина разнообразное. Два пляжа, бассейн, ухоженная зеленая территория. Прекрасный, спокойный отдых! Номера действительно уставшие, но это не являлось проблемой. Нам всё очень понравилось!

PPengguna TetamuAfter having a bad elsewhere, I decided to visit all the places within my price range in Dickwella/hiritikeya before making a booking, and I didn’t find a single place comparable to Surfbay villa! The place looks just as in the pictures (which sets it apart from pretty much every place I've visited). It is clean, the shower is great, the bed is comfy, the internet is as good as it gets in Sri Lanka, and it has an equipped kitchen. It’s super close to the supermarket , local markets, local restaurants and Dickwella beach. Walking distance (15 minutes) to hiritikeya beach and the night life area. I was a bit worried about sharing the kitchen because I mostly eat at home and cook everyday, but the owner was super nice and helpful, always making sure I had everything I needed. The few times something broke down it was fixed in a heartbeat. Every time I asked if the kitchen had something (like storage baskets) and it didn’t, it was purchased right after. I originally planned to be there for a month, but the place was so great I ended staying for three, and using it as a base to travel around the southern province. It’s also within walking distance of the bus station so it was easy and convenient! I wish I could give more stars!

PPengguna TetamuThis place was a gem. We stayed here for three nights in the last week of March. Our room number was their namesake Triple O Six. Guessing it’s their best room. The ocean view from this room was fantastic. The bathroom was very spacious, with good fittings and had a jacuzzi facing the ocean. The people manning the front desk were very helpful with info for planning our trips around Mirissa. The best part turned out to be their restaurant. We generally had an underwhelming experience with food in Mirissa. The wait times to get our orders were above an hour. Also, the restaurants nearby were highly rated but had small portion sizes or the quality was substandard for the cost. The online reviews for food options seem rigged based on our experience. The only exception was the delicious food we tried at Surfing Wombat and the long wait time here was bearable since our table had a great ocean view. We decided to try the restaurant at Triple O Six. It is on the expensive side but far superior experience to other places in the vicinity. Better value for money, quantity and quality and importantly no hour-long wait time frustration for the food. On the last day of our trip, we used the in-house pool. Clean well-maintained pool. Our positive experience was enhanced and we were thrilled to find an old-looking gold ring shining at the bottom. The reception told us that it looked quite valuable. Overall, we had a good experience here. The only con is that this place is not wheelchair friendly. There is a flight of stairs to the entrance of the reception. Saw a lady with knee issues struggling up those stairs and there was no alternate access.

PPengguna TetamuWe really enjoyed our stay in the Sky Garden Mini Hotel. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet and great to relax in. There is also a spacious private balcony overlooking a courtyard and palm trees, as well as AC. The hotel is a stone's throw from the beach and restaurants. The owner was very friendly but discreet and breakfast was simple but tasty - a Sri Lankan omelette (or however you wanted your eggs), as well as fresh fruit and toast. The rooms are exactly as pictured, although more modern showers have since been installed. Overall this is a great choice if you're looking for somewhere cheap as a base in Mirissa.

Liked the beach, the swimming facilities and the buffet for dinner as well as breakfast.
Arranged breakfast box as i had to go on whale watching and would have missed my breakfast.
Very nice staff.
Only thing they can improve is a bit quick on service as we had to call multiple times for getting our room cleaned.

TTraveling TanI enjoyed my time at Ara Beach Resort, thanks to its excellent location and the fabulous pool. The staff were friendly and added to the resort's pleasant atmosphere.
However, I'd suggest a little more focus on cleaning and keeping the buffet breakfast items hot. The food was delicious but consistently served cold.
With these small changes, Ara Beach Resort could be even more wonderful.

CClair SheehanJaga Bay Resort was fantastic! I arrived in town and the place I had booked did not have my booking and Jaga Bay came to the rescue.
This is a family run local business. Jaga the owner supports local children with their education through his own personal donations and those of past guests. I was being a sticky beak one morning as a crowd of women and children were having a little ceremony and thanking Jaga. He explained to me that since the tsunami the hotel and past guests supported orphaned children to finish their schooling. There are only two children left so now they support local children in need. This warmed my heart so much as I saw such genuine support and appreciation with everyone there.
I was in Weligama before a friend's wedding and was in desperate need for an under garment for my Sari. Jaga's wife and main office lady went above and beyond for me on new years eve...I managed to find an awesome tailor, personalised tuktuk driver's and first class service...and the best breakfast view!
I will always come back here.

PPengguna TetamuCentral Beach Inn has a bunch of different room types at different price points. We stayed in the deluxe balcony with AC. Overall the room was ok and a decent size. My friend had issues with the bathroom door since it is very short and he is 6’1” (he hit his head several times). The room has a sort of colonial romantic feel with dark wood furniture and a four-poster bed with white mosquito netting. Standard amenities – WiFi, safe, small fridge, overhead fan, mini bar (electric kettle and coffee/tea), and toiletries. The steps to the balcony were very steep with a higher than normal rise and were shared with one other unit. A basin with water was on the landing for the stairs so that you could wash off sand from your feet. A gate was at base of the stairs. Breakfast was not included, and we did not eat at the restaurant. We did not have the room serviced while there by choice, but I think you have to ask if you want it cleaned. Comparison time: We stayed at two places in Mirissa Beach – Central Beach and Dream Palace. The two hotels are back-to-back with Central taking the beachfront and Dream Palace taking the street front. They both have their pros and cons. The rooms were significantly nicer and cleaner at Dream Palace, but I liked mattress better at Central as it was a little less hard. Both places had the same room amenities. You hear the music from the beach nightclubs at Central whereas you get the early morning beeping and bread-tuk tuk music from the street at Dream Palace (although the rear rooms are much quieter). Central is beach front and Dream Palace means that you walk through another hotel, for which the gates may all be locked after 1:00 am (be warned!). You will have to climb stairs at Dream Palace, but you can get a ground level room at Central. The service was significantly better and much more friendly at Dream Palace (family run) compared to the more business feel of Central. Central has a full restaurant and Dream Palace does not. The WiFi was somewhat stronger at Central and allowed for internet phone calls. Dream Palace is more budget friendly since it is not beachfront. As for Mirissa Beach itself, the beach is beautiful! The waves are very large and consistently frequent which means they may not be good for children or those who do not like to get batted around by waves. However, there is an area at the end of the beach by Parrot Rock with very gentle small waves that is good for kids. The beach is very busy all of the time and people come here for the nightlife. At least one restaurant a night turns into a club with a dj (until 3 or 4 am). At one end of the beach, they will put out these lit up frames that kind of look like giant eggbeaters out front of the bar that will be the club that night. They also have live music earlier in the evening at some of the other places. Mirissa Beach is a good central location on the south shore to make quick trips to Weligama (surfing) and Matara (city), and longer trips to Unawatuna

PPengguna TetamuThis hotel was in a very nice location. We had access to the beach right through the back of the hotel. Then, you are able to walk along and get to the main beach. The staff was helpful when the power in our room didn’t work. We were moved to a new room. Which turned out to be much better because the first room was infested with ants. Ants all over the toilet, sink, and on the floor along the walls. Great location, but make sure to check for ants.
