Our stay at The Peacock at Rowsley was great. The hotel has a nice mix of historic charm and modern comfort. The staff was really friendly and made us feel welcome from the start. Our room was cozy and beautifully decorated. The dining experience was a real highlight. The restaurant’s menu was varied, and each dish was prepared with care. The parking was convenient too, which made things easy for us. Exploring the hotel’s surroundings in the Peak District was lovely, providing a peaceful and scenic backdrop for walks. Overall, The Peacock at Rowsley offered a nice blend of history, comfort, and good service, making our visit really enjoyable.

Our stay at The Peacock at Rowsley was an exceptional experience that we couldn’t recommend highly enough. This charming boutique hotel perfectly combined historic elegance with modern comfort. From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel welcome. Our room was beautifully decorated. On our arrival it was also great to find ample parking available at the hotel. The highlight of our visit was the dining experience. The Peacock’s restaurant offered an exquisite menu. Albeit small, each dish was expertly prepared and presented, making every meal a memorable occasion. The hotel’s idyllic location with in the Peak District was ideal for doing our walks and exploring the beautiful countryside. Overall, The Peacock at Rowsley offered a great blend of historic charm, luxurious comfort, and exceptional service, thus a hotel we would recommend when visiting this area. Can’t wait to go back one day.

We stayed here on our wedding night and it was simply superb from start to finish. Great service, we were made to feel welcome and looked after throughout. We had the tasting menu in the evening and all our compliments to the chefs, they should be proud of what they are doing because that was easily one of the best tasting menus we’ve had. Just class from start to finish and very well thought out. Just when you think it can’t get any better, breakfast! Wow, one of the best cooked breakfast’s we’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. The whole stay was a lovely and welcome break, you get what you pay for. An absolute gem.

The food is stunning, good quality and sourced locally. The private dining room is wonderful, full of character and intimate. The gardens are beautiful and the terrace a great place for dessert/tea or coffee. The reception team can be quite inflexible but if you manage to speak to the Chef they can accommodate certain requirements. We had locally sourced fish, hand reared lamb and the most beautiful desserts.

There's not much more we can say in addition to the wonderful reviews The Peacock have had already. The peace this place offers is second to none, the food was a tasty production, the staff couldn't do enough for us. Keep it just the way it is please! A little bit of Old England like my mum knew. I'm not sure we can better the wonderful reviews that have been written. Suffice to say, our stay has been one of the most beautiful experiences ever. Peaceful place helpful and friendly staff, exquisite food. Need we say more? I only wish there were more hotels like this throughout England. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Stunning building & exquisite food. Unfortunately after a lovely warm welcome we were forgotten about in the bar. A couple that came later received there amuse bouche before us and were then taken through to their table. We sat for a while before anyone recognised this. An apology would of gone a long way especially when paying 12.5% service. Eventually when moved through before the bread even hit the table the starters were out which felt like a mad rush to catch up. We finished with coffee in the lounge accompanied by Miley Cyrus acoustic playing - not the right choice personally but the swearing in the music killed it more so. The wine was beautiful & the food was to die, we live locally so naturally will be back but hopefully the service will reflect the price next time.

We stayed for two nights recently. We’ve stayed twice before (new year package) and once again the hotel exceeded our expectations. We stayed in Room 7 which is now our favourite - large room overlooking the garden with a nice (compact) bathroom, and air conditioning which was welcome as it was quite mild weather at the time. We had dinner in the lovely bar on our second night and it was wonderful. The staff at the Peacock are exceptional, every single person was so professional, yet friendly. Thank you to Laura for sorting out our stay. We hope to be back very soon for another visit. Thank you all.

Impeccable discreet accepting truly old fashioned service Wonderful peaceful atmosphere What an utterly marvellous hotel. Lovely in every way. Absolutely standout service - like the kind of service you would find if you lived at Chatsworth or similar in the last century. Absolutely delicious haddock and chips in room. Wonderful breakfast. Beautiful room. Lovely bar, lovely garden. Simply wonderful. Peaceful is the right word
