The hostel is very big and the staff are friendly. Lots of events to stay social. Bathrooms very clean, cons the bed didn’t have a curtain on the bunks.

Much better than before, especially the bathroom and shower. They were clean and spacious.

The room was fantastic, and the owner was incredibly friendly. I really loved this hotel; it's my top choice for solo travel. The room was also very clean – a perfect first choice for someone living alone in Australia.

The location is great, just a 5-minute walk from Southern Cross Station, making it super convenient for getting around and finding plenty of food options. The front desk staff were very friendly and provided detailed explanations. I loved the app-based room key system. The lobby has lots of power outlets, and the first-floor lounge area is spacious, plus there are independent lounge areas on each floor. The room itself was quite large and had bedside lamps. On the third floor, the men's restroom has two individual shower stalls, and there are more on the second floor. The kitchen has 8 gas burners, which can get quite crowded during meal times. The free breakfast was simple, but they did offer almond milk. On the downside, the bathroom felt a bit humid, there were no privacy curtains on the bed, and there weren't many hooks in the room.

The hostel is centrally located, very close to the main station, making it super convenient to walk everywhere. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. The hostel itself is clean and tidy, and the kitchen is spotless, which makes cooking a pleasure. Although breakfast is simple, there's a good selection of bread, various spreads, and milk, which is convenient for guests. The front desk and staff are kind and friendly, providing thoughtful and detailed service. All the guests I met were polite and well-mannered, making it feel like one big family. I stayed for a week and had a very satisfying experience. I'll definitely be back.

I had a great stay at Melbourne City Backpackers. The location is perfect—just a short walk from Southern Cross Station, trams, and plenty of cafés and restaurants, which made getting around Melbourne really easy. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with recommendations or any questions. The hostel had a good social atmosphere without feeling like a party hostel, so it was easy to meet other travellers while still getting a good night’s sleep. The rooms and shared bathrooms were kept clean, and the free breakfast was a nice bonus. Overall, it’s great value for money, especially if you’re looking for a central place to stay in Melbourne. I’d definitely stay here again and would recommend it to other backpackers.

It was okay, given the price point. However, the lack of curtains on the bed was a downside.

Our stay was fantastic, far exceeding our expectations. The location is incredibly convenient, just a few hundred meters from Southern Cross Station, making it a short walk away. The front desk staff, both the men and women, were very friendly and provided excellent service. Our fellow travelers from various countries were also polite and pleasant to be around.

The hostel is less than a 5-minute walk from Southern Cross Station, which is an excellent location. You can also take a free tram to the CBD. The hostel has a large kitchen, and the 6-person dorms are divided by a half-wall, separating one bunk bed inside from two bunk beds outside, which is great for introverts.

Super easy and fast check in. Using Goki key functionality making it super easy to access. Providing morning breakfast with bread, jam. Coffee and tea with cereals was great for budget travellers. It right in the CBD with nearby amenities like train, tram, bus and eateries around with various choice like vietnam, Chinese, Japanese, Indians etc.

The facilities here are really subpar, and the hygiene isn't great either. Service is pretty average across the board, but the atmosphere is fantastic with daily activities. Breakfast is provided, and the milk and toast portions are convenient, so you just need to order a few more dishes. However, showering can be a bit inconvenient.

The free breakfast offered bread, cereal, various spreads, tea, and coffee. What really surprised me was the availability of both regular and almond milk for drinks. However, a major drawback was the lack of privacy curtains on the beds. Also, e-bike charging is prohibited throughout the entire hotel.
