The staff were not following COVID protocols. None wore masks. Day manager actually spoke to us with mask on chin and AROUND the safety barrier. One pen used for everything by everyone. Night manager & staff as well as other guests were all maskless. We were not asked to show proof of our vaccination status. Inspired ZERO confidence that they were actually sanitising anything. My partner also felt unsafe as there were a lot of people loitering around the building. The room was clean and tidy. Located excellently for the event we were attending. Hot water worked, loved the choice of flooring. That was all. The room offered only one single bar of soap. No shower gel, shampoo or any extra toiletries as is expected from even the most basic accomodation you can stay in anywhere else. I have stayed in youth hostels in the outback and even they offered more than a tiny bar of soap. There was no indications of any extra services offered or being available. There were no extra pillows or blankets available in the room. One very flat pillow per person and a thin doona only. The pillows were so low that I could not sleep on it and when I asked for another pillow from the night manager I was met with rudeness. He finally gave me an old, dirty pillow with no pillow case (see photos). When I asked for a pillow case he acted like I was being ridiculous. We slept badly as the bed was very hard. Actually went home and slept as we were so tired from the uncomfortable bed. Upon checkout we got stuck in the lift as the door to the G floor would not open. We finally called for help using the phone but even though the front desk manager answered and said he would be with us immediately he was not. We finally left by going back to our floor and using the fire escape to exit via the basement parking. He then told us he couldn’t hear what we were saying on the phone so basically ignored us, and then gave some rubbish excuse about the one elevator being an old one that was not for guests. Basically if we had not exited the way we did we would have been stuck in the elevator for hours being ignored. There was no signage indicating anywhere that one of the two lifts was not for guests, and if the lift was not for guests you would think it would be clearly marked so.

We chose the Miami because it was very close to the venue we were going to see a live show at. What a gem. Right from our arrival, staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We were given an upgrade that gave as a fabulous view of the city. Our room was large, bed very comfortable, bathroom well appointed (they even had shaving cream), couple of chairs to sit on and, one thing we love, mugs for tea or coffee. Everything was spotless. WiFi was good. There is parking on site at a fee. Some undercover but also spaces for those higher vehicles that can’t fit underneath. There is a guest kitchen which would be great for longer stays. We stayed on a Friday night and had no noise issues. Cafes, pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance and a tram stop is just down the road. On our trips into town, we usually stay at a much more expensive hotel but from now on the Miami will be our go to property. Very reasonably priced, great staff and comfortable beds, what more could you ask for?

Space is the first hostel of my trip and it’s set the bar pretty high! Staff are lovely, everywhere was always super clean, beds are comfy, towels are provided and you can even grab a fresh one every day if you wish. Location is great, would recommend the Queen Victoria Market for something to do and “pizza pizza pizza” was lush. There’s nothing “on” as such at the hostel but this didn’t bother us. The only thing that would be good is some extra fridges as they were packed full every day and it was hard to put your own food in anywhere. Would definitely come back.

I am interstate for business on a regular basis and have stayed in many well rated accommodation venues however, I struggle to find anything to criticize at this hotel. The staff are amazing - nothing is too much trouble, they do all the little things, over and above what I would expect to make you feel like a special guest. They all seemed to be ”hand-picked” to suit the service culture of the hotel. The quality and cleanliness of the facilities are A1. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. A small table & chairs, couch and huge TV were a welcome feature. The conference facilities worked well. Conference catering, breakfast room and intimate Bistro/cocktail bar offered quality food & drinks. My partner is disabled in a wheelchair and all his needs were well & truly met in a standard room. Only 1 suggestion - it would be great to have magnetic door stoppers installed so the door will stay open while moving through with the wheelchair or bags. Thank you Marriott Team, we will definitely be back :)

Perfect location and nice staff. But that’s all.
The room was completely different from the photos.
There’s nothing like curtains to block the water from shower and the water just splashing around the toilet and the whole floor.
If we knew this, we wouldn’t have booked this hotel.
Location is perfect so I would recommend this hotel to people who don’t really care about shower..
Other rooms could be different and better than our room…

We were warmly greeted and served by front desk personnel Tina on 28-Nov-2023 evening. Everyone is equally helpful, even though it is a busy hotel with many travellers checking in and out. Hotel room is simple but the hotel location is great, right beside the Chinatown and the CBD area etc. You can walk to anywhere, K-Mart, plenty of restaurants and shops. Lovely breakfast spread enough to start our day well 🥰

Comfortable stay, convenient location, and close proximity to the train station made our trip hassle-free. The room was cozy and clean, with all necessary amenities. We loved the ease of exploring the city from this central spot. Highly recommend for an stress-free and relaxing getaway!

This is a really good quality hotel in a nice part of Melbourne. We are Accor Plus members but this night was booked using Emirates points. Accor still gave us a a top floor room with a stunning view and the usual free drink vouchers, which I didn't expect since I didn't book with them. The room was clean with the aforementioned good view and had every thing you need for a short stay. Improvements would be a coffee machine instead of simply a kettle, and a better Chromecast as the one we had just wouldn't work. These are minor issues though. Lifts were very slow, as only one seemed to be operating. Breakfast was efficient and tasty, although the included coffee could be improved and the extra charge coffee was too cold to be enjoyable. All in all an excellent hotel to stay at if you need to stay in the South Wharf end of Melbourne, and we will certainly stay again.

PPengguna TetamuAmazing place. I can't wait to go back. The staff, the location and the nature was perfect. We loved seeing Kangaroos all around the property and having the facilities of the golf club nearby. Great place to stay in the Yarra Valley
PPengguna TetamuWe stayed here 3 nights in our travel trip.
The hotel located in centre of the city. Price of room staying is valueable. Breakfast is good and enough for traveling day.. Nice staffs. We left early morning with great brf take away.
One thing we are not really happy is that we had to wait for a 35-40 mins to check in, even we came after 15:00. The hotel requested a deposit per room even we made 2 reservations for all. It took time I think. I traveled more than 40 countries in the world but almost they used one card for one deposit only. We really made questions ourselves about reason why of this matter. But overall we had good time at the hotel.
FFernandoLuisWe didn’t look to the hotel for more than just a bed for the night, so didn’t check out the other facilities.
The bed was comfortable, the shower was nice, and the room was set up in a modern and pleasant way. The room has most of what you need but it is very small, with very little space to even set down a suitcase.
I would have preferred access to a full size ironing board rather than a desktop one.
PPengguna TetamuHyatt Place Essendon Field is located a 10 minute drive from the airport, MEL. Alternatively, the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle from the airport. Depending on traffic downtown or CBD, is only a 20-minute drive away. The hotel is a few minutes drive both restaurants and shopping if you want something else then the hotel kitchen or the attached gastro pub. There is a garden around the hotel, and plenty of parking spaces. The lobby area offers plenty of seating and both for eating and meetings. On the first floor is the is a good size gym with plenty of machines and weights. The rooms are a good size and well planned, working both for short and long stays. Overall, it is a nice hotel at a good location.
An impressive property and more luxurious than expected for an airport hotel. Beautifully designed and a tranquil lobby setting with Japanese style gardens featured. We had expected a stock standard experience but were pleasantly surprised by well appointed rooms. The room facilities were stylish and high-end, including a coffee machine, Chromecast t.v., high quality linens and fittings. The shower soap and hand wash were lovely. The room was quite spacious and all our needs were accommodated. We would have forgotten we were at the airport except for the view of the planes from our window. We enjoyed the Bocatta restaurant immensly with fresh seafood and pasta including woodfire pizza. Breakfast was delicious with ample selections available. The highlight was the caring and genuine service provided by the staff. Karen at Reception was a standout with her sincere and welcoming service. We can't wait to stay again. A fabulous addition to Melbourne and worth a visit!
PPengguna TetamuThe hotel is conveniently located right in the heart of Melbourne near the Spanish Quarter, Bourke Street Mall, and other shopping precincts. The staff are friendly and efficient at check-in. The rooms are good in size with modern amenities and comfortable beds. There is a kettle and small fridge. The bathroom has a bath with a shower, so if you have mobility issues, it's not for you. There is no rail to hold onto when getting in or out, which makes it dangerous, especially as it gets slippery. There is a pool and gyn which were modern and accessible. The room we had faced into the mezzanine of the hotel so you dont get any light from outside, which was strange. The room was very quiet and had a good air conditioner. Overall, we would stay here again, although the lack of being able to see outside wasn't ideal, and if you stayed for more than one night, it could be an issue.
PPengguna TetamuIt was the long weekend in Melbourne and we had to wait for quite a while to check in. Check in time was 3pm but we only managed get our room after waiting for about 1-1.5 hours at the lobby. It was nice that they offered champagne to all the guests waiting at the lobby though. They also had to give us another room (a bit of a downgrade from level 9 to level 8 facing different directions) as our room was not ready. The porter, Oscar, was very helpful and friendly. When we got to our room, there was an extra bed and he helped us move the bed out and everything back to where it supposed to be effectively. The room was clean but there were only 2 pillows (supposedly 4) on the bed. Called reception to get more pillows but got told that they will try to source some as they’re running low on pillow at the time :/ Kind of unbelievable for a 5-star hotel. I also later found out that the electric curtain in the bathroom was not working and the night light lamp was dying and flashing. There were no soft drinks or snacks at the minibar so if you want something simple to drink or eat at night, you’ll need to order room service + a delivery fee of $8. Overall, the location is fantastic, really close to the shops and restaurants we wanted to go. The hotel is quite basic for a 5 star hotel - there’s no coffee machine, hair straightener available for hire or firmer pillows for use. Having said that, the location really beats everything and I’ll probably book this again when I travel to Melbourne next time.
PPengguna TetamuNot recommended for those who value their personal data security and privacy.
Not recommended for internati9nal travellers who may not have enough charge on their phones to complete 3 forms, then download and set up an app that requires constant internet and Bluetooth connections.
Booking required multiple insecure methods of sharing credit card details and identification documents along with 2 forms to fill out with personal details and an app to download in order to gain access to the Building entrance, Elevator, and Apartment.
None of this information was given to me prior to booking. I would not have stayed here if I had known the extent of insecure transmission of personal information and amount of admin and work required just to check in and stay one night. I work in this space and know the risks. Management is putting guests personal data at risks with the excessive documentation requests.
FYI, requiring someone to send credit card PICTURES and ID pictures over email is completely insecure. This is bizarrely at odds with the excessive security to get into the building.
The constant need to carry your phone everywhere or you'd be locked of the apartment or even the whole building was extremely stressful.
In terms of the actual room, once I got in, the bed, kitchen, lounge and floors were clean but the toilet had not been cleaned in a long time. This was not nice. You could see parts under the rim had not been cleaned in years. Toilet had also been recently used and not flushed properly upon arrival. I did not take photos of any of this, it was too gross.
I ended up buying paper cups as the glasses/cups as those supplied were not clean, tried to take a picture but it's hard to see. They were covered in fingerprints and fibres of some kind.
The view was nice and loungeroom was great, study nook was extremely handy for remote work. Balcony tiles are moving and could be a tripping hazard. Laundry was well equipped but did not have time to use it.
PPengguna TetamuOur stay was OK in as much as the bed and bathroom were acceptable for the price. - when the price is $125 or so. The trick is while they advertise $125 a night, Friday and Saturday night the prices goes off the scale. So read your proposal, even if you're in a rush. There are lot better rooms around at around $200 or more. We stayed 4 nights and extended another - a Saturday. (Family matters nearby). The gentleman said $120 for the extra night but when I got my statement it was $189! It was then I realised I was charged that for Friday too. Re-educated in touch and go and not bothering with the receipt. Sure these prices are not exorbitant in this day an age - for a reasonable establishment. While in the room the basics were reasonable, the room had a toaster and microwave but no bread plates or cutlery, only small bowls. Asked at reception and was give some disposable cutlery and pasta bowls . Great for toast! Apparently people keep stealing them or breaking them. So charge them and have something reasonable for reasonable people! The door didn't latch either without a heft with your shoulder and then caught only by millimetres. The chain was on and the chairs in place, don't worry. The room was only serviced once during our stay after we asked. The garbage truck came at 4.00Am or so and emptied multiple skips just nearby (on the premises) with all the beeping and backing, hydraulic whining, and diesel roaring you'd probably accept at $120 odd dollars a night, but really? My partner was ready to walk in the first five minutes with her usual abuse of my miserliness. As you might have guessed, the pricing issue is what really gets up nose. The rest you probably expect and accept for a cheaper deal. But next time we're near Lilydale we may well pay $189 but we'll be looking for $189 value.
