Pension Alte Scheune

We were driving from Italy to Northern Europe and were looking for a place to sleep a night and found this. We’re so happy we ended up in Pension Alte Schaune and Melsungen! It’s an adorable medieval town and the hotel is in the medieval part, but still easily accessable from autobahn. There are a few parking spots in front of the hotel, they pay, but are free in weekends. If you came after 7 pm, let them know, the reception is not open at nights. Our room was spacious! Our kids loved the bunk bed (especially the one who got the down one, which is wiiiiide). Roomy bathroom. Spouse commented that the hotel is newish and looks better than in pictures. There was complimentary water bottles in the room. The only con is that you’ll hear when your neighbours wake up. The hotel haa quiet time between 10 pm and 6 am and is really quiet and safe. There is a shared kitchen and rec room downstairs. Breakfast is 7 € per person and was good - we don’t usually buy breakfast at hotel, but this time we though it was worth it. We’re going to sleep and go, but when we walked to restaurant in the evening (highly recommend Reginella Rosticceria!), we decided to walk around in the morning, too. The medieval town is so beautiful! All in all we were amazed. Everything in this town and hotel is cute. It’s kind of family owned small hotel that has candies in a glass jar in the reception. Love that!

A fantastic family owned hotell, great rooms and a great breakfast. Highly recommendable. The rooms are great, and the surrondings is a great place to talk a walk through. We were passing through only, the city is a small city with a couple of restaurants.

Ein wirklich sehr schönes Haus und große, geräumige Zimmer allerdings ist das Haus schlecht isoliert (ich hatte immer zwei) und hörte um 6:45 Uhr morgens die Toiletten und duschen der über mir liegenden Zimmer Auch die Anbindung des Frühstückszimmers mit fast eingebunden Recepcion ist beim Frühstück störend, da man natürlich den gesamten Recepcion Betrieb mitbekommt. Ansonsten ist das Haus empfehlenswert.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer, sauber und großzügig. Sogar mit Bügeleisen und -brett im Kleiderschrank. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und wirklich sehr, sehr günstig. Leider nutzen das einige Gäste aus und sitzen sehr lange am Tisch. Die Pension liegt zentral und der Parkplatz direkt vorm Haus war in der Nacht von Samstag auf Sonntag kostenlos. Wir würden hier immer wieder übernachten!

Wir waren auf Einladung des Fanclubs der MT Melsungen die Bartenwetzer e.V. zu einem Handballspiel vor Ort und haben auf Empfehlung von Karin Wenderoth und Marion Viereck dort übernachtet. Tolle Unterkunft - überaus angenehmes Personal - hervorragendes Frühstück. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt nochmal hierhin!

Sehr schöne großes neu renoviertes Zimmer mit sehr großem Bad. Sehr gutes Frühstück das keine Wünsche offen lässt. Parkplatz um die Ecke. Waren schon öfters hier und kommen wieder. Sehr freundliches Personal. Die Stadt Melsungen ist schon eine Reise wert.
