I like to review only after positive experiences, unless I think my feedback might help the business owner. So, I start this review by saying I don't regret staying at the New Yorker. It met all my basic criteria: clean, safe, well-located. However, there were multiple issues with the room that were puzzling. The room seemed to be newly remodeled, with bright paint and new tile throughout the bathroom. That said, the room had multiple inconveniences. The bathroom, with a pedestal sink and large shower, had exactly one hook for towels, near the shower. Nothing next to the sink, so there was nowhere to hang a hand towel. The room also had zero places to put your toiletries. There was one tiny shelf but it was full of supplies left by housekeeping. So the two of us placed our essentials on the back of the toilet (always risky!) and had to keep the rest in our suitcases. The main room also lacked furniture to place your belongings. One small bistro table and an occasional table, both glass and delicate-looking, were it, notwithstanding two tiny nightstands. We put one suitcase on the luggage stand and the other had to sit on the floor. In the small "closet" area there was a high shelf and exactly four hangers. It felt like the room was set up for singles only, not couples. Nothing to do with the room, but the modest breakfast offered was more modest that I expected. Plain bagels and bananas. Every. Day. Got old fast.
