Hotel berhampiran Clocktower Plaza Shopping Center, Miamisburg

On a positive note, the room at this Hampton Inn was totally updated and was the nicest Hampton we have ever been at. Everything was very comfortable ... bed, bedding, bathroom, etc. etc. and we loved the decor. We had booked this hotel a few days ahead of time, and upon reading the reviews, I noticed that the noise from I-75 was very loud in the rooms facing in that direction, so I had requested a room on the top floor and away from the busy highway, and felt that this would solve the problem. When we arrived at the hotel around 5, we were told that there were no King rooms left on the top floor, so that was fine. When we arrived at our room, we found that our room was facing and very close to I-75, regardless of our request a few days before. The noise went on all night long. I spoke to a nice lady the next morning at the front desk, and she said that just because we requested a certain room type and location, there is no guarantee that we will get it. As lovely as this hotel was, we probably would not stay there again unless we could be guaranteed a room away from I-75. There seemed to be a lot of places to eat around that area, so that is handy.

The only thing I can say positive about this hotel is that check in was easy and the room was clean. The stairways look like something from the dark ages and the walls were dirty and paint was chipped. Except for the gentleman that checked us in the customer service skills were lacking from the employees we dealt with. After going swimming the evening we arrived, we only stayed one night thank goodness, we took our clothes and towels to dry them and when we arrived in the laundry room someones clothes were in the dry but we forgot some stuff so I went back downstairs to get it and my fiancee waited there. During the time we arrived and I returned with the other items it was about ten minutes and no one had come to take their clothes out of the dryer so she took the clothes out of the dryer and placed them in the basket that was on the dryer and put our stuff in the dryer and inserted the quarters. While she was trying to find the start button to start the dryer the guest who's clothes were in the dryer came in and asked why we took his clothes out of the dryer. As stated it was at least 10 minutes since the dryer stopped, I work in a hotel and have experienced many times when guests just leave their clothes in the dryer and go somewhere else and don't return for a long period of time and we just tell the guests to go ahead and remove the clothes and place them on top of the dryer plus I have even seen some hotels that have signs up asking you not to leave your clothes sitting in the machines, washer/dryer, and say your clothes can be removed at your own risk, and he stated that his clothes were still damp, which when my fiancee put his clothes in his basket it was only his socks. By this time we had started the dryer and he stated he was going to stop the dryer and take our clothes out and he attempted to but when he opened the door I slammed it shut and stood in front of it. He got into my face and said we weren't going to dry our clothes and proceeded to unplug the dryer. At this point what I believe to be two Front Desk Clerks came in and asked what was going on and I proceeded to tell them what happened and I was told to shut up and they asked him what happened. He told his story and said that the only reason he didn't kick my butt was because I was old and my fiancee said who are you calling old and again the bigger of the ladies told her to shut up and let him continue. He then stated that he wanted to pick up the dryer and throw it at me and when I said I wish you would have I was again told to shut up. One of the ladies, I'm not sure offered to take his clothes downstairs and finish drying them for him and the older clerk proceeded to plug the dryer back in so we could finish drying out clothes. The next morning we went into the breakfast area to eat and were very disappointed. All the other Holiday Inn Expresses we have stayed in have had biscuits and gravy but this one didn't. Everything about this hotel was off. Our physical keys did not work, the front desk staff was severely understaffed. The food area was completely messy, dirty dishes not collected, the food was quite frankly - terrible. Plus, I never got my Diamond food credit. The king suite with separate sleeping are not private. The double doors do not exist between the room and living area. The sheets and pillows for the couch m/sleeper sofa are kept downstairs - I had to go retrieve them. The front desk person was swamped, so it took awhile. The elevators are very far away from the rooms. Very strange. The price was great though! So I guess you get what you pay for.

Easy access off interstate. Nice, clean , big rooms. Front desk clerk VERY nice and helpful. Breakfast was back to a Hot Buffet which had numerous items and VERY delicious. We were there for March Madness First Four and location was 12 minutes to University arena. Will definitely make this a yearly short vacation.

We stayed four nights for a soccer tournament. Overall the stay was descent, but there was a few areas that were unacceptable, especially when paying $225 a night for two of the nights stayed. The majority of our stay the ice machines were out of ice. Staffs' response was that too many guests fill their coolers with ice, thus requiring time for them to restock. Since it's not my job to police guests, the responsibility falls on the hotel to figure out how to ensure all guests are able to receive ice. Also it was found out that a router was out on the wireless internet, thus the majority of the time we were unable to receive internet service in our room. We were not given a discount when asked and the blame was completely scapegoated to the internet company. Also one of the days there was no hot water in the morning, which made for a cold shower. All of these issues are unacceptable in general, yet more so when paying $225 a night. If a hotel is not able to accommodate for high guest occupancy, then they need to rent less rooms and /or charge less. On the positive sides, the staff were all friendly and helpful, rooms and grounds were clean, and breakfast was good. Again, stay was descent but standards fell far short, especially for the price paid.

This is a great Holiday Inn. Although we only stayed one night after driving 12 hours to get back home. We were so glad they had rooms available, because it was getting late. They gave us a King size bed suite on the 4th floor and I loved it, very pleased. I am a Holiday Inn member, but had my husband go in, so I didn't get the points. Bed was comfortable, shower was great, it was quiet, very clean. Staff was friendly, courteous, helpful. Breakfast was available and not bad as far as complimentary goes, but I'm not a big Breakfast eater to begin with. Overall, a great overnight stay.

A++++ Pete and his stall are amazing, A friendly smile in the afternoon from his staff, Pete walked around the hotel multiple times a day and when I asked him about that he told me he wanted make sure there are no issues with the outside of the property and it is clean, room did not smell like deodorizer the bathroom was clean, the shower was clean and the best part it did not need any maintenance, I enjoyed the breakfast in the morning, I did not like the waffle maker instead of a one size waffle it makes three little ones which is a little hard to maneuver on the plate and can get messy when using a plastic nife/fork, I would recommend sausage patties and sliced cheese every day as I could’ve put them in between the two little waffles and made a breakfast waffle sausage sandwich, I will be back next year to visit the Wright, Patterson Air Force Base, and the Kil-Kare Drag*****,
