funeral reception booked for today 29th may, @ 2.15pm. the family come from australia for the funeral and i done the booking.i got to the pub at 2pm to find empty tables. 1 barmaid starting to put cups and saucers out,followed by an urn for the boiling water for the 20 coffee,s and 20 t,s that had been paid for.people started to turn up,its now 2.30pm and still empty tables, the 1 barmaid knew nothing of the reception and was very apologetic, i asked ref managers ,under managers and was told only 1 manager onsite but she was upstairs.no boiling water for the hot drinks ,no milk, no spoons, no serviettes, the machine was not switched on so nobody had tea or coffee.by now ive asked 3 people where is the food , and told it would be 5 to 10 minutes.about 14.45pm the food started to arrive some out in the passage way,not good.now this has been my local for 24 years and i feel totally embarresed that this was the best they could do with visitors from the other side of the world,poor poor service, the 2 girls were run ragged, but this is down to management, so lay your heads down in shame for a disgraceful exhibition, so the way i see it a refund for the hot drinks that could not be had is due as a minimum starting point.disgraceful and embarrassing.

Good location, clean and pleasance stay. Good sized, room free parking and easy access for guests arrival throughout the day. A good full English breakfast was enjoyed by every member of our party. Staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. All in all a very pleasant stay at a welcome and reasonable price.

Came for a meal with several friends , most had the carvery I asked for soup as a main course , some had other meals off the menu . Everyone got served I asked if they had forgot my soup . I was told in no uncertain terms , that it hadn’t been forgotten , and I was not the only one . She told me they were really busy and I would have to wait . She told me rather loudly , every one heard and I felt so embarrassed . We ordered our sweet at 1pm , my friend had to go at 2pm it was 1.30 and no sign of it . My friend queried it , we were told again they were busy she said we had only ordered it 3 mins ago , my friend said it was 1/2 hour ago, which it was but the waitress got really got aggressive . Another customer said “we did not come in for this “ my friend said that we wouldn’t go there again , the server said “that she wasn’t bothered if we didn’t go again . The whole experience Was quite upsetting , not really professional to argue with customers in public . I go every month with friends never had a problem .

I cannot put into words how amazing Hardwick Hotel is and the team that come with it! Being local we attend Hardwick festival every year so when I received an email about the first WedFest I knew it would be perfect for us! We were one of the lucky couples who got married for the 10th anniversary of Hardwick festival and it was the most amazing experience ever! With only 8 months of planning and preparing for the big day the team were always there if we had any daft questions or requests! We opted to keep the wedding really formal on the morning and the service was 5*! Food was brilliant and all the extras included meant the whole experience was relatively stress free! They really did go above and beyond for us and it is something our friends and family will talk about for years! The brilliant feedback from guests shows just how amazing getting married here is! We had our own double decker bus which was a great private area for our guests to hang out and with a private bar which was very handy! Not many people can say they had shout outs from Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Snow Patrol perform their first dance live! Thank you so much Arianne & Nathan Carter!
