La Cala Resort

7 of us met up here for our annual golfing event from the UK. The courses are amazing, great facilities, and the weather was perfect. Food in the evenings was good, as we sampled all 3 restaurants, Bodega being the best one of the lot. The staff were so friendly and efficient. Spa facilities were very needed after a day on the course. One thing to note is you need to book your spa slot, and you do need to wear a hair cap whilst in the pool area. The rooms were a bit tight, but all the facilities you need, plus a balcony overlooking the fantastic course and mountain views. Overall a superb visit, would recommend this to anyone. Will definitely book again sometime in the future.

2nd visit to La Cala , this time in April . Seemed much busier than June 23, more bigger groups in April . Nevertheless , great time. Rooms are clean and comfortable beds. Fridge and kettle on room . Bathrooms could do with a refurbishment perhaps. Walk in showers are better than a shower over bath. We had a half board package (al a carte) and I have to say the quality of the produce was exceptional . Large portions , occasionally a little over facing particularly the cheesecake desert. All freshly cooked and hot . The service was exceptional and we were greeted with the same familiar faces from last year . Alberto , newly promoted maitre de was superb , friendly, efficient and made us so welcome . As did Maria , Carmen and of course Danny from Doncaster . We were made to feel like VIPs. The breakfast staff and chef were also very friendly and welcoming . Restaurant got a bit noisy when bigger parties were dining but the service was just as good . The golf was excellent , efficient process in collecting buggy and T times . George was particularly helpful . The Marshalls ensured the pace of play was acceptable and slow play was discouraged . On our day off we took the train to Malaga . Lovely city . The spa area is a little luxury not to be missed , with an indoor pool , sauna , steam room and water jets . Last but not least a mention to the staff in the clubhouse . Always smiling , always busy , always accommodating . Thank you all for making our stay so enjoyable . See you next year

Very, very friendly staff, they are just great. We have stayed at 3 different places this trip, and these guys are by far the best. We’re going to come back just because of them. Nice rooms good food, good views , and of course the golf. We will deuce back. With the family next time.

We went for an afternoon at the spa with a friend. This was such an enjoyable experience. The spa gives out to an outdoor space so you can enjoy the sun and the views at the same time. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We also had a massage and the quality of Sylvia's massage was second to none! We finished the day with a late lunch at the restaurant and the food was simply delicious. I highly recommend

Party of eight golfers stayed and played golf this week. Three 18 hole courses , Europe , Asia and America all very challenging. All playable but possibly more suited to the long and straight hitters. As previously stated , bring plenty of golf balls as courses are quite tight and if you stray off the fairway you can forget about finding them in the “ jungle “. However ball sellers ( presumably illegal!) are positioned around the edges of the course. All courses are in good condition with the greens ,although fast, are very true. Pro shop is well stocked , all rounds include a buggy which is essential.Our only whinge is the speed of play and apparent lack of marshalling. We take on board these are long courses with some long drives between holes but five and a half hour rounds ( on two occasions) is not acceptable. Presumably guys with two much alcohol on board or lack of skill . At no time we’re we ever asked for a handicap certificate. Perhaps that may keep the cowboys off the course, but effective marshalling would seem an obvious solution. Hotel staff and room cleaners all very helpful and efficient. Breakfast excellent but very busy at peak times.Rooms have all you need including a massive balcony. Hotel is a bit “ in the sticks “ but a12 euro takes you into Mijas town which is full of bars and restaurants. All in all a very good holiday experience )

Went to the clubhouse the past Saturday for a surprise birthday lunch for my boss and i have to say what an amazing experience me and all my colleagues had a fantastic time the service was amazing especially from jose the waiter , well actually all of them but didnt manage to get their names , food was absolutely amazing and very good size portions and had a very nice rose wine there, and the views are amazing such a beautiful scenery, definitely will be going back and will definitely recommend to people

We have visited this hotel and club house many times since purchasing our apartment in La Cala Golf over a year ago. Each visit our experience is always a joy. Amazing food, friendly and efficient staff, spotlessly clean and such amazing views. Cat wait to be back.

Waiters are absolutely friendly and helpfully. Quality and prices of food are correct and of course the vieuw is great to sit there. Everything very well cleaned and proper. No remarks here and everything is done for the customers to have a great experience

The care and attention my wife and I received following a medical incident (and night in hospital) was beyond reproach. Hotel director Pablo Sotoca and his team La Cala could not have been kinder and more understanding, I shall forever be in their debt. We were unable to play golf due to aforementioned problem, but the courses looked in beautiful condition - if a little challenging. Rooms, restaurants et al all superb. Thank you La Cala for your outstanding care and support, and as somebody once said 'I'll be back'
