Destination Stays Montreal Downtown

This place is a huge scam. Only positive is location. Charged $236 for one night and had the worst experience. No air conditioning, none of the electrical outlets work, no wifi, no fridge, no bath mat, no trash bin, no security. Host will not answer you and won’t address any of the issues. We never got any of our money back. Don’t make the same mistake I did and run don’t walk away from Destination Stays.

I booked this place through Bookety.com.The room price was $56.01 per night (x2). Taxes & fees: $96.72. Total 208.74 which was advertised in C$. After payment, they issued a breakdown stating the price was quoted in US dollars charging my card C$297.19 which was higher than the US dollar conversion. Contacted Bookety.com and no response. Horrible and very dirty place. I Spent most of my time cleaning and away from it. Bugs and holes in the sofa, Internet, and TV, not working, no towels, bedding full of hair and smelly. total nightmare. Daniel runs this shady place and never responded. I should have read the reviews before booking.

Its a fine accommodation for shorter stays. Practical location. Management is responsive.

Location is the only good thing in this property - close to transportation and a lot of tourist spots. However, customer service is lacking. I understand this is an apartelle with no receptionist at the location but if there are customer needs that are urgent/communicated to property personnel, there should be someone to address our needs. Our reservation was for 3 people but we were not given extra bed, extra pillow and extra towel for the third person. We contacted them but they said they were contacting the host which we realized was non-existent. We were charged extra guest fee but did not receive any service/amenity for the 3rd person. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

This property does not live up to the pictures. Don’t be fooled. The rooms are extremely tiny and broken down. The staff didn’t even give us toilet paper. I’ve paid $30 to stay in hostels that were much nicer than this. Absolute scam!

Great location near the metro station but otherwise has nothing else good going for it

-No cooking vent making it fire alarm sensitive -Itchy bed sheet, blanket and sofa. -Booked for 3 people but towel, blanket, utensils, toiletries, etc just for 2 people. -Small bed and sofa not eligible for third person sleeping. -Doesn’t qualify for 3 people stay. -Tried to contact the property but went to voice mail which was already full. -Have to leave the place right away due to all the issue. -Didn’t stayed in property

I wish I had of read the reviews before booking as they are spot on. Just an overall horrible experience. No bed sheets, no couch cover, water wasn't working in bathroom sink, shower was a slow trickle. Room smelled like gas at night. No noticeable air conditioning. Security to the building was non-existent. Save your money!!

Besides the location, do not stay here unless you are staying for a night or rarely going to be in the room. The walls and dishes are stained and dirty. When I asked help to get more towels, pillows, and toilet paper, I was ignored and told that someone would come help but no one ever did. The bathroom door was broken so it was hard to get any privacy when using it. The code key pads rarely worked & the smell from the restaurant downstairs poured into the apt strong. The stairs were also a surprise and there was no reception peopl my large suitcase on my own and no one was there to help me. The shower is extremely small with no water pressure at all, yet there is mold, old hair and dirt on the floor, as well as hair from past tenants. The walls have marks from dirt from past tenants which was also disgusting to sleep next to. There is no outlet next to the beds and you have to get up to charge your phone. No full length mirror either or bath mat provided. I would not be as mad about all these problems if there was a responsive customer service team, who actually cared about their guests. It was super frustrating that everything we reported was ignored repeatedly. However the location is next to lots of public transportation & great food in walking distance. If you are able to spend a little more money, I would definitely choose a nicer hotel/airbnb in the same downtown area. BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE with responsive customer service people who actually care and upkeep the rooms!
