Only short stay - overnight for attending our friends’ wedding in Carnforth. Good location which is only 5 mins walk to the beach! Lucky, markets were on the promenade! Easy to access around the town. Easy to park the car. The room was clean and comfortable. Fan provided! Importantly, the tv has subtitles which is good for Deaf people. Travelodge has provided us fire alarm systems! If return to Morecambe, I would stay s as Travelodge.

The hotel is right on the front and while there is parking, there is also a large car park just over the road with lots of blue badge spaces. We went for the music festival, which is one of the busiest times and there wasn't an issue with parking. The check in was simple, the staff are very friendly. My partner has mobility and breathing issues but was able to manage the walk to our room. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, enough storage and the bathroom well laid out with a full length mirror. There were chairs in the room, which gave more height when putting on shoes etc for people who struggle. Tea/coffee making facilities and decent size mugs. The hotel itself was quiet but being on the front the seagulls are extremely vocal. The bars/pubs are a five minute walk away.

The hotel is located close to the water's edge, just across a busy main road. The reception staff were friendly when taking the reservation but charged an additional £50 as a deposit for any room charges—a detail not mentioned during the booking process. Be sure to speak with reception before you leave to ensure that this deposit is refunded. From my research, it seems the hotel is slow to return deposits, but if it takes longer than 5-7 days, your bank can assist with the issue. Our room had a decent view, but being on the ground floor and at the front of the hotel, it was quite noisy with traffic and pedestrians passing by. At first glance, the room appeared nice—clean and tidy—but the bathroom layout was awkward. Despite having ample space, the bath was small, and the toilet was crammed into one corner. The bathroom could benefit from an update, such as replacing the bath with a walk-in shower. There was no hot water on our first night, only tepid, making it impossible to take a comfortable shower or bath. The shower itself was disappointing, with weak water pressure and no option to adjust the spray due to the poor design of the mixer tap. When we informed reception about the lack of hot water, they claimed no other guests had complained. Although they did contact the manager and attempted to get a plumber, they blamed the difficulty on the bank holiday weekend, which seemed more like an excuse. The bathroom lacked a heated towel rail, so wet towels didn’t dry properly. The provided toilet paper was extremely thin and not very durable—I recommend bringing your own. Only two rolls were supplied, and they were of very poor quality. The room didn’t have air conditioning or a heater. There was a single radiator near the door, but it didn’t work. We noticed a tall electric device, but it turned out to be just a cold air blower. The room felt chilly, and while it’s still summer, I imagine it would be even colder in autumn. There was also no safe in the room, so if you have valuables, you'll need to take them with you. The room had an outdoor seating area, which could have been a nice touch, but it was overshadowed by the constant noise from the busy road. There were no lights outside, so sitting there at night meant sitting in the dark. Privacy was also an issue, as people from the restaurant above would come down to smoke near the seating area. I wouldn’t want to sit and have a drink with people smoking and standing close by. This area would be even less appealing in colder weather, and I doubt many would want to sit there with the traffic noise. Breakfast was decent, with a full English offering, although the black pudding was subpar. The staff were polite but seemed indifferent, making their service less welcoming than it should have been. This hotel is one of Morecambe's little secrets. It’s not anything special, it’s just a great place to stay. Not fussy, but it’s clean comfortable and friendly. The views front the sea front rooms are fantastic. Imagine waking up to Morecambe Bay and a backdrop of the Lake District. On your doorstep is probably the best promenade in the Northwest. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order with a selection of cereals and toast. Okay its location in the West End of Morecambe is not perfect, but it’s only a short distance to cafes and restaurants, and the Eden Project will only be a ‘stones throw away’.

Popped in for breakfast - best breakfast ever and the whole family loved it including the children - service was fast and polite and the atmosphere and surroundings were spotless and very comfortable. We felt like we mattered and the breakfast was all served at the same time, fresh and hot.

There is so much to like at this hotel. The recently refurbished rooms are bright, spotlessly clean and fresh with great facilities. The bed was really comfortable and big! I usually struggle to sleep when away from home but I didn’t have that problem here! Everything was just so comfortable. We had a sea-view which I would recommend as it is lovely looking out on the sweep of the bay. Binoculars are provided too which I thought was an inspired touch! The hotel is well-located, across the road from the promenade and a pleasant stroll to shops, restaurants and bars. We found free parking right outside the hotel. The proprietors were really friendly, polite and informative and gave us a warm welcome. There is no breakfast provided but we didn’t find that a problem as there are so many places to eat nearby. I would definitely return to The Kerswell and recommend to others.

Hotel undergoing refurbishments but doesnt impact your stay, Lovely friendly staff, hotel room nice and clean, basic but everything you need, tea/coffee, towels, tv, plenty of sockets for charging devices, en suite toilet/shower. Breakfast was lovely, plenty to choose from and fresh toast/drinks, ‘chef’ asking everyone if there was anything else they wanted/needed, would definitely go back and stay again.
