Ulasan Kibo Palace Hotel Moshi

Friendly staff and clean rooms. Very happy with the facilities. Nice rooftop bar. Food at the 1/F restaurant is overpriced and quality needs to be improved. Some staff are too much into asking for tips without providing any service.

I had dinner at the hotel and I did not realize that the waitress made a mistake and charged my credit card in US dollars instead of 33.990 TZ shillings. An hour later, the waitress knocked my door and told me about the mistake and that they would reverse the transaction in the morning. It took the hotel 2 days to sort that out with their bank (NMB Bank). I spent about US$500 on international phone calls with my bank in SA so that they undersand the problem and help me solve it. After a long struggle, I got my money back after 25 days. I am writing this to alert tourists who visit Tz. Please look at the credit card machine to ensure that the correct currency is being charged before pressing the buttons. Scrutinize the receipts that you get and keep them until you get home. Regardless of the nerve-racking experience that I had, I would like to thank the Kibo Palace Hotel administration and staff for their honesy (admitting the error) and for the great efforts they put forth to ensure thae reversal of the reve money as they had no experience with this issue before. Everybody at the hotel was sympathetic and very supportive. Every now and then they contacted me to see if I got the money or not. My advice to the hotel is to train their staff especially waitresses/waiters in using payment machines, and even improving their English to avoid such mistakes and hastles. I wish the accountant tooke me with her to the bank so that I know exactly what is going on so that I give solutions or ask my bank for solutions. if I come back to Moshi, I would definitely stay at the Kibo Palce Hotel and enjoy Mt Kilimanjaro views.

We stayed on the seventh floor in the King Room. It's a corner room with two large patio windows on either side, which open on to two balconies. This room must have the best veiw of Kilimanjaro than any other hotel in Moshi. We spent three nights here and the best time to see the mountain was at sunrise, which in February was around 6.45am. At this time there was a clear unobstructed view as there was no cloud. After breakfast Kilimanjaro had disappeared for the rest of the day hidden beneath a layer of thick cloud. In the words of a tour operator, Mount Kilimanjaro loves to play hide and seek. The hotel is a good modern hotel with all the amenities you'd expect. And has a great view of Kilimanjaro from the roof top bar. Although, it gets rather windy up there at sunset. It's a shame that the bar staff play very loud music, which totally spoils the ambience of the occasion. The breakfast is good and the waiting staff are very attentive and Jordon M, the chef, will cook eggs just as you like them. The room is well made up every day with all toiletries and towels are replenished. I found the air-conditioning controls difficult to operate but reception were quickly on hand to assist. What makes the King Room, on the seventh floor, so outstanding is the magnificent, unobstructed, view of Kilimanjaro, which, when all said and done, is the only reason to be in Moshi. The loud music played by the staff on the rooftop bar is awful and completely unnecessary.

Disappointing Stay – Felt Uncomfortable and Pressured ★☆☆☆☆ I understand that in many places like Moshi, it’s common to be approached for business or money on the streets. But I absolutely do not expect that kind of behavior from hotel staff. I simply asked for directions, and suddenly I was surrounded by two staff members and then a brother of one of the staff, all trying to push their services as a driver and escort. They were extremely persistent, and wouldn’t take no for an answer until I finally had to raise my voice to get them to back off. After that, the entire stay felt tense and uncomfortable. I didn’t feel like a valued guest—just a target for more business. On top of that, the hotel is in a noisy location, so sleeping wasn’t easy either. I had hoped for a peaceful and professional environment, but unfortunately, that was not my experience. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to others looking for a respectful and relaxing place to stay.

Let me tell about the hotel’s rooftop restaurant. From here, you get the best views of the town and Kilimanjaro. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, everything is modern and very beautiful. The playlist consists of popular Western songs, which sets this restaurant apart from the rest. If you want to spend a beautiful evening with friends or plan a date to impress someone, there’s no better place in all of Moshi.

This is a hotel in a congested area of Moshi. Tight parking outside. There is a guard right outside and he helps direct any cars trying to park to pick up or let off hotel guests. We had a very nice lady check us in and out. Very helpful staff who were quite friendly. Average size room. Hotel is on a crowded street which is noisy, but I had no problem sleeping. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Restaurant was very good.

I want to give a great review to all the personnel in this hotel. They were friendly and helpful and provided great service. Most of all I want to point out the restaurant manager Kennedy and his chef Jorden. Their food was superb. Best breakfast I think I have ever had!

It was my fantastic experience at your hotel, Staff are welcoming, everything is planned. I am thankfully for having a chance to stay at your Hotel. I really recommend this hotel if you want to travel to Tanzania. I am well pleased with you! And hoping my next holiday will be amazing again.

I stayed at Kibo Palace before and after my Kilimanjaro climb and it was absolutely perfect. Check in process was lightening fast thanks to Primi and Mary at the front desk. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable, water was hot, and above all, everything was so clean. The rooftop restaurant and bar were fairly priced and have a spectacular view of the mountain. Breakfast had plenty of options and all the staff were incredibly friendly. This was the perfect place to prepare for the climb and rest after. It's conveniently located in the city center making it easy to walk to most restaurants, the Mbuyuni Market, and tour operators. I highly recommend this place and will be staying there again when I return to Moshi. Excellent job to them and their team.
