Beware! I stayed here with my elderly mom for a family reunion. We discovered things that should’ve been shared with us BEFORE booking: They have no elevator! My poor parent had to go up 2 flights of stairs every time we left/arrived. There is no AC in the building..only in the rooms, and it was in 90 degrees or hotter while we were there! There’s an active railroad track, about 100 ft or less from the back side! The trains go by about every 2 hours, and blow their whistle repeatedly, every time it goes by, day OR night! We could barely understand the person at the front desk (that wasn’t a bit friendly), and didn’t see anyone behind the front desk again! We stayed 2 nights, and it cost $244!! We could’ve stayed at the Fairfield Inn, which is actually nice, for that price!! This was obviously a place where some people live, for long periods of time, but it is not advertised as such. The side door entrance is always open, even though upon checking in, the paperwork says that you’ll need to use your key for that door after 10pm…wrong, anyone can come and go as they please. The lobby where they serve a breakfast (one long shelf that housed some of the breakfast stuff was just a raw piece of wood just screwed down) seems to be more of a place for AA meetings or something similar. I know there’s a need for these types of places, but it’s not where someone just traveling through would like to stay, so it should be advertised in a way that lets you know it’s for a selective group of people. I will say that even though the whole building looked old, with subpar construction, and blatantly obvious code issues, the mattresses in our room were comfortable, and clean. That just didn’t seem as important because no one was able to sleep through the train horn blowing every 2 hours!!!😂
