Service at Bayerischer Hof starts outside, when arriving by car: They take care of your luggage and take the keys to park your car. Reception is very friendly, helpful and effectively under the Corona-Regulations, to provide a good room for you. Breakfast is still good, but before Corona-Times it was definitely better. I only managed a Dinner at Trader Vic's, which is quite nice for tourists, but not the original food I know from Asia myself. The four days at the Bayerischer Hof were the most comfortable time I had this year. And now I plan to be back there in December - same hotel.

I’ve stayed at this property several times and it’s a solid choice in Munich. The staff are exceptional and because of numerous dining and bar venues, combined with a stellar spa it has a grand resort feel. The only qualms I have with the property are rooms are really great or really dated depending on what you’re assigned. What matters most, however, is the staff including the owner of the hotel truly care about their guests. I was amazed that the hotel’s owner stopped by each table New Years Eve to thank her guests. WOW! You certainly don’t get that very many places. Well done!

We arrived early from the US and asked about early check-in. They said they would do their best to check the rooms that checked out early to get us in earlier and took my phone number. Well, it never happened. 5 hours later we went back to the hotel around 1:30 PM (normal check-in time was 3 PM), they said they had a room ready right in front of the elevator. He told me it was the only room available and if we wanted the originally booked room, I would have to wait another 1 or 2 hours. He said the room was quiet. Not true, heard every noise from the elevator, loud people, and elevator rings... very unsettling. Walked into the room, 2 twin beds. They said they would put two beds together to accommodate us. They did put the beds together but with 2 twin blankets. Doorman was the most unfriendly people, very unwelcoming. Not enough modern outlets such as USB ports, definitely not recommended for business stays. WiFi was slow as well. The bathroom was extremely small and one person at a time size. Breakfast was overpriced and an average meal with very slow service even for an Americano (turned out to be just a coffee). Pros: great location and walking distance to many attractions. Breakfast opens at 6AM.

I already posted a review but it doesn’t yet seem to have been loaded, so I’m writing up another one. Room was quite small and dark even though my virtuoso booking entitled me an upgrade to deluxe. Room service order was not what one expects from a 5 star property. No menu for wines by the glass and confusion when speaking by phone. Generally disappointing service. Reception too busy and long waiting time. Concierge desk more friendly. Overall I won’t be returning.

Room 472 hasn’t seen management in 50 years. Our furniture was fraying in a big way and you could not get into the shower and close the door - had to shower with shower door open. Very sad as the hotel is clearly historical and overall a beautiful work of art. Management should take room 472 out of rotation.

Hosted a dinner for our company and it was a nightmare! They want to charge for absolutely everything! €3.50 for our guest to put their coats, €5 per menu to be printed, €25 for a seating plan to be printed etc… complete disgrace! To top it up, I ordered a burger from the restaurant (€32) and it was probably the worst burger I’ve ever seen in my life! It must some kind of German institution as it has amazing reviews! The only good thing here is the staff. Very nice and attentive! In any case, AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

Fabulous stay in Munich, wonderful hotel! The staff at reception are very helpful and accomodating. Helped us with renting a car and with our luggage. The breakfast buffet is amazing, freshly cooked to order and plenty of selection. The spa pool is big and warm enough to swim in. The rooftop bar/restaurant has impressive views. Our room was very modern and the bathroom was very very nice. Comfy bed as well!

I am a regular stayer at the Bayerischer Hof Hotel. This was the worst stay I have had. The hotel wifi wouldn't work. Very odd. The spa is having renovations but shower parts are missing in functioning area and the steam room 'smelt' (not nice) and had no steam. A steam room with no steam. The bar at the back of the lobby lounge room was also closed. I was informed the 3rd floor of the hotel is completely closed due renovations. The hotel definitely does need just that. Definitely not my best stay. I felt I had to speak up. The receptionist just said 'oh, sorry'. Maybe I expect more from one of the dearest hotels in Munich?

Booked a Birthday dinner for 4. Did not inform us of cancellation. On the spot nobody carred or tried to remmedy the situation. Not even a “ sorry”. No manager ever showed up to help. Huge dissapointment for our daughter who wanted to have her 25-th birthday celebration here. Very sad and bad customer management.

let me start with the good parts ..The people behind the reception are wonderfully helpful and friendly. The concierge team was beyond helpful with advise and reservatons and information. Again housekeeping was reliable and always timely. The people that worked breakfast again wonderful. Since our stay was during the historic snowstorm ( with unreliable transit system, the hotel was in the best location for us to get around). so here are the parts that were completely unsatisfactory 1. TV channel were extremely limited 2. "high speed internet" not even close and not completely free, you had to choose the "free package" 3. Roof top restautant, let me start by saying I had lived in Munich for 4 years in the past and I have NEVER had this experience. The waiter was rude, he ignored our table at all times, other tables were served first, and provided amenities before us even though we were there first. When we placed order it was slow in coming, the check took an eternity to arrive after we had asked for it. Most horrible experience. I made my experience know to the conceirge, hoping to get some reaction from the management or a credit for the meal... NOTHING!

This has to be one great hotels of Bavaria (and probably Germany and the world). With its central location and wonderful facilities it’s a must if you’re looking for a quality hotel right in the centre of the city. When I was there last a little girl’s party had taken place in the ballroom and the entire room had been painted pink!
