The rooms are very nice and the hotel has a lovely boutique feel. Check in was nice and the gentleman who checked us in was very helpful with suggestions for nearby spots to visit and restaurants. Our room was nicely appointed, and the location was nice in the old town area. However, we had several issues. The room didn't get very cool at night, and the pillows were not very comfortable, so we didn't sleep great. More notably, we had paid for breakfast included and when we sat down for breakfast in the morning, we were told our breakfast was not included. We told them we had indeed paid for breakfast and the server went to check with the front desk, came back and confirmed that breakfast was not included. Which was frustrating, and we ended up not eating. At checkout we mentioned to the same girl (black hair) that we had paid for breakfast, and she checked again and found that we had indeed paid for breakfast. So we never got to eat the breakfast that we had paid for because of this incompetence. And instead of an apology or an offer to make some accommodation for this, we got excuses that it was the booking site's fault not theirs. Not sure how that could be the case when she was indeed able to confirm that we paid for breakfast once she checked again. Not how 5 star hotels work, especially when an error has been made. Frankly if there was any confusion in the first place, they should have just offered the breakfast. But this was really poor service. Finally, we had booked this hotel particularly since we had seen there was a nice gym nearby that we could use before our flight in the morning. We called to confirm this, and reconfirmed again at check in. When we woke up early before our fight to go to the gym, we were told that the gym had a special policy where you can't work out in the shoes that you wear to the gym. You have to bring an extra pair and change at the gym, and they are apparently very rigid about this. We were in town for an event, so my wife only had sneakers and heels. So we didnt get to use the gym, and we had paid double what the other hotels we had considered cost and specifically stayed here because of the gym access. This should have been disclosed to us when we called originally, and certainly again at check-in when we asked about it so we could have considered an alternative plan. Last thing to be aware of is that taxis dont come directly to this hotel, you need to walk several minutes from your drop off and pickup point. Which isnt a huge hassle unless it's raining (which it was), so we had to pay double to order a special taxi service that will actually pick you up in front. All in all this is a lovely property but we left quite upset about the fact that in our one night at the hotel that we had specifically booked to get a workout and eat breakfast before our flight, we didn't actually get to do either of these things.
