Positive : The hotel is very well located, with a sea view as advertised. Breakfast is very enjoyable and sufficiently generous. The dishes served at the restaurant are good. The free parking is an undeniable bonus in this popular seaside resort. Negative : The staff was rather indifferent and inattentive. The carpet in our room was gray, worn, and stained. However, the worst experience was at the "Hickory" restaurant: while the food was good, its operating system is utterly unfair and nonsensical! Firstly, the size of the dining area seems inadequate for the number of rooms in the hotel, as it is mandatory to make a reservation for both dinner and breakfast. For instance, when we arrived at the hotel at 5:00 p.m., the only available table for two was at 6:00 p.m.—no other options were available. Unfortunately, that’s not all! The restaurant offers set menus (2 or 3 courses) and an "à la carte" option; HOWEVER, if one diner chooses a set menu, the other CANNOT order from the "à la carte" menu, and vice versa, even if the number of courses is the same! It’s either "à la carte" for everyone or set menus for everyone! I have never encountered anything like this before! How do they manage tables of 3, 4, or 6 people? I requested to speak with either the hotel’s general manager or the restaurant manager, but neither was available or on-site. Instead, we were left with a waitress acting as a "supervisor," who could not deviate from the rule. Regardless of the quality of the food, such an organizational policy warrants a score of 0/20 or the lowest possible rating.
