Booked 3 club rooms for 3 separate nights during a multi-stop tour through Kenya. The Stanley and the 1902 lounge were one of the highlights of our trip and we would definitely stay here again and specifically book the club rooms. First of all, the staff were incredible - Emilie, Collins, Benson (1902 lounge butlers), Steve (concierge) and Susan (management) deserve special recognition. They all went above and beyond to ensure our stay was amazing. The 1902 lounge is well worth the upgrade. Soft drinks and snacks during the day, and an incredible happy hour daily from 6-8 with hard drinks and hors d'oeuvres. And if your flight is later the day of checkout, you can use the lounge throughout the day. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. We tried all 3 restaurants during our stay - The Thorn Tree cafe provides an excellent breakfast and is good for lunch. Both the Thai Chi and Pool Deck restaurants were excellent dinner choices. If you are heading on Safari or to Mombasa you can leave the luggage you don't need with the concierge, taking only the things you need for that part of the trip. This makes traveling so much easier. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious and well-appointed. As we returned to the Stanley from one of the legs of our trip, we all remarked that it felt like we were ”coming home”. Would highly recommend.

This is a real treasure of a place! The atmosphere is old world charm, the food is fabulous at TATU. The bar is excellent with service and attentiveness to you needs. The gift shop is stellar for some nice jewelry. The facilities are clean as a whistle as they say...breakfast was outstanding with so many choices. The work out facilities are just super great, and the pool is heated. Ok, lastly the ambiance of colonial Africa just fills the air, from the art, to the breezes flowing freely through this wonderful hotel!

The team effort and constant attention from chefs Rachel, Janet and Brenda made our afternoon even more adorable. Chef Colvin, Kadima and Mercy at the Juice Station, Anne Lydia personally ensured that we enjoyed every moment of our stay at Kempisky. The booking Manager Grace Wanyonyi alongside Nancy N take the credit for their great hospitality. We will always look forward to another visit anytime we want a treat. Keep up the good work.

Great service from front desk. They were accommodating to early check-in and slightly late check-out depending on vacancies. Didn't check out the facilities. Breakfast wise was alright. not much varieties though. Anyway we are there to stay in the room. Room is perfectly sized and cozy for us to rest in. Highly recommend to all if you are looking for a hotel in CBD area.

I have been staying at Chester House for now over 10 years whenever I visit Nairobi for business meetings. What I enjoyed most were their breakfast. It was rich in every way. Unfortunately the effects of Covid-19 led their in-house Bar & Restaurant (B & R) to close. Now they have outsourced Breakfast to two outside restaurants. For the down stairs' restaurant, their à la carte menu is never fulfilled: there is always something not available. A second cup of tea/coffee must be paid for separately. The other restaurant is closed on Sundays. Today, you can't have a late drink in the evening. The absence of an in-house B & R has made the place no longer as cosy as it used to be. The hotel is very clean and looms very nice. The staff is very friendly, respectful and always willing to help. The rooms are average level of luxury, but everything is clean and well arranged. The pool is spotless and the spa/gym area are spacious and big (although haven't tried the services. The hotel helps with on the spot tours and transport to and from the city if going out in the evenings. The food at the restaurant is delicious (had breakfast and dinner) and the service very good. I recommend it from the bottom of my heart!

I did raise my disappointment with the senior management but was left saddened by the lack of response other than an email. No face to face though I did make myself available during my stay. Anne and her team the the outdoor restaurant were terrific and really tried hard to discover and rectify the issues, but the only verbal reply I got was 'it will sort it out over time once the kitchen gets to grips with the new menu.' In my humble view if the kitchen team are not up to speed with the new menu / dishes, guests should not be regarded as tasters, paying for the privilege of determining the kitchens staff ability to recreate the new menu dishes. I really like staying at this hotel but I want to look forward to my meals without almost feeling embarrassed to comment. I am grateful to Anne for her interest as to hearing honest feedback. I hope the senior management listen to her, she is in my opinion a credit to the company and they need to hear her. I still rate this hotel highly, but it has some issues it needs to address.
