"Fun experience staying in a tulou! As the listing says, it's a shared bathroom outside the tulou structure and a plastic bucket outside your room if you need to pee in the middle of the night and don't want to go out far. Bring your own toilet paper and soap just in case they've run out in the shared bathrooms. The room itself was nice and ours on the top floor had a window. Power and wifi worked great. The hostess was super kind and brought us to our room, made sure we could find our way back, and offered us tea. I'd recommend for the unique experience!"

"So clean! On my first day, I looked at 5, 6, and 7 rooms and realized all the rooms here are quite spacious! I absolutely love the decor style! It was such a great deal during the off-season! 😻 On my second day, I saw someone cleaning the rooms next door on the same floor, so I went in to take a look! They had swings! I even played on one for a while! I asked and found out that only a few rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors have swings! 😻 Electric vehicle charging is super convenient, right at the entrance! There's also an outdoor courtyard where you can sit. I stayed here once in 2024 and came back again this year! The tea here is quite good! 😻 Could the bowls for porridge at breakfast be changed to smaller ones? You can always get more if you want, but having too much and wasting it is a shame! I've bought their tea and dendrobium powder! Both are great! Genuinely recommend! ✌"

"It's the nicest hotel in the area, but it's not exactly worth overpaying to stay here. We had food in the restaurant one night that was ok, a little bit sweet, but maybe that's the way they like their food in this area. We had an executive suite and besides it being a large room it didn't feel that special. Water in the room had a yellow color to it, which the staff explained was due to the water in the hotel being mountain water, I still think the hotel should be able to filter the water so it isn't yellow, we refused to use the bath tub or brush our teeth with the hotel water."

"The environment is very good and upscale, and the service of the front desk staff is also ok. We came for the hot spring pool in the room and it felt pretty good. I paid a 500 deposit for check-in, and the sky hot spring is charged separately. It seemed quite fun, but I didn't experience it because I checked in late. The buffet is also relatively rich. The only drawback was that the water stains on the shower head in the bathroom affected the appearance a bit, and the water in the shower at one o'clock at night was very hot. I adjusted it to cold water, but the cold water became smaller and smaller during the shower, and finally disappeared completely, so the water was too hot to continue washing. It was quite late so I didn't go to the waiter~ It was normal the next day. Overall, the price/performance ratio is okay."

"Tulou Viewing Platform Inn is a wonderful choice for experiencing the charm of Fujian’s tulou culture. The location is unbeatable, offering breathtaking views of the iconic roundhouses. The owner is warm and hospitable, even cooking delicious local meals upon request. Amenities are basic but clean and well-maintained.
Be aware of an entrance fee charged outside the main park—this is standard for visitors. Also, watch out for taxis trying to overcharge for entry into the park; negotiate the fare beforehand. Despite these minor inconveniences, the inn provides an authentic and memorable stay. Highly recommended for culture and nature enthusiasts!"

"Certainly very glad to have chosen to stay in this beautiful tulou hotel. The renovation was sensitively done, striking a nice balance between modern hotel amenities and traditional tulou features. With only 8 loft rooms in the tulou building itself (3 villas are newly added and outside of tulou building), the place gives off peaceful and calming vibes. Quality room amenities and delicious breakfast provided. Less than 10 min walk to Yunshuiyao scenic area."

"The room is on the second floor of a quaint Nanjing earth building (they have square and round earth buildings). Authentic, each bathroom and toilet is separated. Awesome👍. If you like luxury hotels, you don’t need to choose his hotel. Her hotel is a good place to experience the local lifestyle with green mountains and green waters, the forest is quieter than the noisy frogs and the cicadas, and the mountain with the singing birds is even more secluded. It's very convenient to get in and out, close to Huaiyuan Building. The proprietress is enthusiastic and capable, and the pillows, sheets, quilts, etc. in the room all exude the smell of sunshine. Very clean and hygienic. Sleep🉐very comfortable😌. You can't ask for good soundproofing in a wooden building. As long as it's not the peak season, you can stay there for two or three days in peace and quiet. Very pleasant."

"Beyond the official Tulou attractions, the proprietress also took us to a private spot (Pic 3). It was a lovely place where adults could enjoy tea and conversation, while children could play in the water and even try catching fish. It was absolutely wonderful! It truly felt like an escape to a secluded paradise – incredibly quiet, and there wasn't even any phone signal. A perfect opportunity to completely relax and unwind. Pictures 1 and 2 showcase the collection of old furniture and farming tools the proprietress has curated on the guesthouse's rooftop. It's a very thoughtful touch, and city kids found them particularly fascinating."

"I've been following Qunpu Nanjing Tulou for a long time, and finally got to experience it this October holiday. The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning views at every turn and a tranquil environment. The service was excellent, and the cold brew tea was delicious. I also enjoyed the pillow cakes in the lobby so much that I bought some to take home. The cultural activities were quite engaging; I tried making ciba (glutinous rice cakes) and picking tea leaves. I purchased a half-board package, which included breakfast, dinner, and a half-day cultural activity. Dinner was rich and tasty, and while breakfast was a bit simple, it was still flavorful. There's a small stream right outside where my husband caught a lot of minnows and stream perch. The hotel even cooked them for us for free, and they were incredibly fresh and delicious. During the October holiday, there were many families with children, and the kids had a wonderful time playing together."

"I wouldn’t miss the opportunity to stay in a tulou after spending days checking them out, and I was lucky enough to find just one of my most favourite accommodation experiences ever - 云水谣长荣楼, the Tower of Sustained Glory, at the Ballad of Clouds and Water.
Traditional tulous were poorly equiped for comfort, with claustrophobically small rooms and communal bathrooms. People didn’t choose to live this way - they had to.
Luckily for us, for the grand total of $119 AUD per night, which is so modest of an amount in Australia, where I’m from, we got to stay in a 99 years old tulou renovated with modern creature comforts… and then some. Think a beautiful room dedicated to tea-making. Voice-controlled lights & music, and remote controlled curtains. A smart toilet, and one of the biggest showers I’ve ever seen, with a heater blowing warm air into the shower stall for the cold winters (although the hot water reserve is limited). Did I mention a 2m wide bed in which we slept like babies?
Not to mention the building itself is of course a piece of heritage art.
The few days I have spent with the tulous had thoroughly been one of my most favourite travel experiences ever."

I read the review and booked this homestay. It was really good. The room was beautifully decorated. The small yard was full of flowers. The boss was very enthusiastic to upgrade the room for us. The mattress and quilt were very comfortable. The scenic spot is also worth visiting. The scenery is beautiful and the air is fresh. There is a fragrance of sweet-scented osmanthus everywhere. I also like the unique residential buildings like Tulou. The prices in the scenic spot are also relatively close to the people.

I looked at several B&Bs on the platform and finally chose this one. When I got here, I found that they have two B&Bs with different styles. The two are very close to each other. Both are beautiful and super suitable for checking in and taking pictures. The decoration style is simple, generous and fashionable. The room is also very clean and hygienic. The front desk staff is very enthusiastic. You can ask them if you have any questions and they will answer them patiently. The B&B is in the center of the scenic area. Warm reminder: you must purchase the scenic spot ticket in advance after booking the B&B! The car can drive in directly.

BB.tayThis place is a gem! Located in Taxia village, rooms are above a wine brewery. It is very clean, comfortable & cosy, equipped with heater (it’s winter) brightly lit if you’re looking to stay at the hakka village. The village itself is very beautiful both during the day and night. The owner is kind and polite who waited for us despite a very late check-in. We had a taste of her Chinese wine after dinner and they were all very good! I especially liked the plum and white wine. Bought them and they were packed nicely to withstand air travels. Highly recommended place to stay, a nice experience staying here! Wished we had more time. For breakfast you can go to the restaurant opposite which served very nice dishes. The villagers are very friendly too!

蔡蔡桂嬋 & WillThe location of the hotel is fantastic and our room looked directly over the tulou cluster. If you don't mind climbing up steps, you can walk to the high level observation platform in about 15 minutes for a stunning view over the valley.
The rooms and facilities are basic but clean and there is plenty of hot water. As elsewhere in China the mattresses are very hard but okay for a couple of nights.
The couple who run the business are very friendly and helpful and, if you don't want to eat out, they offer good and tasty home cooking.

The location of the B&B is very close to the viewing platform of Four Dishes and One Soup, which has the advantage of seeing the lights and entering the village at night. The landlady usually drinks tea in the front hall. When you pass by and she is free, she will invite you to drink tea and chat with her. This place is now dedicated to host tourists so the inner garden is arranged as a nice scenic place with many plants, flowers and ancient things.
