Hotel di Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area/Jiming Temple, Nanjing

First, let's talk about the exterior. There was water all over the parking area in front of the lobby entrance, almost as if it were deliberately placed there. Different people might see it differently, but I found it quite unpleasant. Since I arrived in the morning and it was still early, I went to the restroom on the first floor when I checked my luggage at the lobby. The floor under the sink and around the toilet was also covered in water. I even thought someone had urinated outside the toilet at first, but when I washed my hands, I realized it was just water everywhere. I wondered why there was so much water, and then the cleaning staff from the men's restroom opposite came in and started mopping the floor directly. That really opened my eyes. The hotel's location and views are great, and transportation is convenient. The housekeeping staff was excellent, which was the only good impression I had. They promptly removed the trash I left outside the door. I had high hopes for breakfast and even woke up early to go to the 45th floor for the view and a meal. However, due to some shift allocation issue, three servers were arguing right behind my seat until I had to say, 'Could you please take your discussion elsewhere? It's very noisy.' Later, two servers left, and I was at seat C1. The server in the area to my left was cleaning up, throwing cutlery into the storage bin with loud, forceful, and noisy clanging sounds. The entire breakfast experience was very poor. The hotel's hardware itself isn't particularly different from others. What we look for in a hotel stay is comfort, at least not to be upset or affected. This really angered me. Don't star-rated hotels even train their staff anymore?! InterContinental welcome fruit: self-service, very good.

My partner and I stayed at the Shangri-La Nanjing for 4 nights and 5 days during our self-driving trip to Nanjing. The front desk staff, particularly a young man surnamed Pan, was incredibly helpful during check-in. Since we were staying for 4 nights and 5 days without breakfast included, he thoughtfully suggested an upgrade to the Horizon Club for a reasonable additional fee. This gave us access to the Executive Lounge, where we enjoyed daily breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening 'Happy Hour' dinner. Throughout our stay, we experienced the warm and excellent service Shangri-La is known for. Not only was the front desk staff fantastic, but even the housekeeping aunties who cleaned our room daily provided impeccable service. The Nanjing Shangri-La is conveniently located near Xuanwu Lake, making it easy to get around and explore. We will definitely choose to stay at the Shangri-La Nanjing again on our next visit to the city.

The hotel was excellent in all aspects. The location was bustling and convenient, and there was an authentic barbecue restaurant right downstairs. We even caught the Scottish Cup Final, which had a great atmosphere, and we somehow ended up rooting for Taizhou (a Chinese city, likely a misremembered or placeholder name in the context of the Scottish Cup). The reason I'm deducting two stars for service needs clarification: the front desk, concierge, housekeeping, and restaurant staff were all impeccable. The two points were specifically for the gym reception staff. They were dressed in casual clothes, playing with a tennis ball while interacting with guests. Throughout the entire conversation, they kept bouncing the tennis ball on the reception counter. There was absolutely no professionalism, and their language was stiff, making for a very poor experience. This was a significant drop in standards compared to other departments in the hotel, lowering the overall rating and dragging down the good work of the other staff. Overall, I would still highly recommend this hotel.

Before arriving, I saw online reviews saying the hotel was a bit old, so I didn't have high expectations. After staying, I found that even though the hotel has been open for a while, the decor is classic and timeless, and it's well-maintained. It's clean and doesn't have that musty, old smell. The hotel's location is super convenient, right at Exit 2 of Xuanwumen Metro Station, making it very easy for transportation, shopping, and sightseeing. Plus, all the hotel staff are very service-oriented and have great attitudes. This old-established hotel offers excellent value for money. It was a very pleasant stay.

Excellent location! Take Metro Line 1 to Maofan Road Station, exit 2, and turn left immediately after the gate (no need to exit the station!). You'll find yourself in B1 of ”Huatong,” just follow it to Ascott B1 and enter the hotel. The welcoming staff and front desk are warm and professional. A special shout-out to Jason at the front desk, who was handsome, professional, efficient, and attentive – truly a 10/10 booking experience! The room is spacious, newly renovated, and has everything you could possibly need. It's quiet and comfortable. This is definitely my top choice when visiting Nanjing!

The hotel is in a good location, close to Jiming Temple and Xuanwu Lake. Although the room is relatively small, it is very clean and tidy overall, and the windows can be opened for ventilation, which is very good. There is a little fat brother at the front desk (I didn't see the name tag) who is really excellent. When I checked in, I put forward my room requirements, and he was able to quickly give a check-in plan, which is rare, because many five-star hotel front desks are also easy to give the wrong room after taking up their posts, because it is really not easy to match the room type, floor location and requirements. This brother is definitely a master of business 👍👍👍

Stayed here for four nights in Nanjing and was generally satisfied. Environment: This area feels very safe, all roads and various institutions are also stood guard. It is very close to many shopping malls and food courts, and it takes ten minutes to walk. It is also a walking distance to the subway station, Xuanwu Lake and Drum Tower. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to Yihe Road, which is very convenient. Nanjing road barrier-free design is still relatively friendly, and walking with a suitcase is not a problem. If you take a taxi, Didi will locate the all-season hotel on the road, but you need to go back a little in an alley, Gaode can be guided. Health/Facilities: Because the hotel is temporarily set in the alley, I thought it would step on thunder, but I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, it is still possible, and the cleaning aunt will try her best to meet any needs. There is a washing machine and dryer. It is very convenient. When I am there, there are not many people who need to queue up. Air conditioning and cooling is very powerful. The mattress should be hard in the hotel, depending on personal preferences. Where can be improved: - Some sanitary details can be paid attention to, it can be seen that they have been cleaned, and it will be better to pay more attention to the details. - The bathroom has a smell, probably because of the dampness, and sleep needs to be closed. Maybe because of the wet + season, there are a little mosquitoes in the bathroom. - Several switches in the entrance can be marked. - Sometimes the ”Do Not Disturb” cleaning aunt will knock on the door, very dedicated, but I slept late, I hope I can rest well.

Traveling with my parents, our baby, and my husband, this hotel made us absolutely fall in love with Nanjing! We initially only planned to stay one night, but the check-in experience and our stay were so excellent that we extended for another day. The front desk staff were incredibly thoughtful; they upgraded our family to a spacious king-size bed, allowing our seven-month-old baby to sleep safely in the middle without disturbing us adults. The robot delivering Starbucks coffee right to our door was a big hit with my husband. The smart one-touch curtain control and sleep mode for the lighting ensured we slept incredibly soundly at night! Closing the curtains during the day to watch TV was literally a cinema experience right from our bed! The TV is actually very large, though photos don't quite do it justice. The lake view was absolutely stunning, and you could even see the mountains. A two-minute walk led us to Xuanwu Lake for strolls, shopping, bookstore visits, and Starbucks coffee. The location is excellent; a taxi ride to Zhongshan Scenic Area for sightseeing only cost around thirty RMB. This trip was truly comfortable; we ate well, had a great time, and took taxis everywhere! The room had separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom, and the decor was very classy – truly fitting for a four-star hotel. There was also a sliding door between the sleeping and washing areas, which, when closed, effectively created a private suite feel. The hotel's buffet breakfast was very authentic to Nanjing and offered even better value for money than the famous Nanjing Dabaihang restaurant. From now on, when we return to China, we'll just fly straight to Nanjing and skip Shanghai! Hahaha!!!

The most unexpected surprise for the Spring Festival trip to Nanjing is to set this hotel. The former US embassy in China is too cost-effective, the environment is very beautiful and quiet, the security work is very good, the door is opposite the warning duty, full of security, the staff is warm and professional, the service quality is high, Also presented exquisite holiday snacks, come to Nanjing to lock here in the future.

This e-sports hotel really exceeded expectations! The machine configuration is directly full, the graphics card and monitor are top-matched, and the picture is smooth to fly when playing games. The group battle is not stuck at all, and the hand feels absolutely dead. The room was very clean, the keyboard and mouse were all new, there was no greasy feeling, the seat was still the kind of ergonomic chair for e-sports, and it was not tired after sitting for a long time. The sound insulation is very good, I can't hear the movement next door at all, and the immersive black is too cool. The front desk service was also super intimate. I wanted to drink a drink in the middle of the night and sent it up quickly. I also asked if we wanted to add a blanket and the details were full. The price is also very cost-effective compared to other places in the same configuration. I will definitely come here next time I set up a black team!
