Hotel di Confucius Temple/Qinhuai River Scenic Area, Nanjing

After researching many hotels for our 3-day, 2-night road trip to Nanjing, we settled on Shuishanglou Hotel. The owner was incredibly friendly, and free parking is available right at the entrance. Our room was excellent, and a nice bonus was the TV's premium membership, allowing us to watch movies for free. The hotel's location is also excellent; Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) is just a short walk away, and there are convenient bus stops nearby offering direct routes to the Presidential Palace and Xuanwu Lake. Overall, we had a fantastic stay! Highly recommended. 😍😍😍

Perfect location, taxi can be dropped off right in front of the hotel, and across the street from the hotel is the famous laomendong area, where you can find the amazing nanjing impression restaurant, this one is the more impressive looking space than other branches. Professional, well organised, rooms are cleaned and tidied, water, tea, and toiletries replenished every day. Plenty common areas to use, convenient, great value for money.

This hotel 🏨 is really close to the subway, about a 3-minute walk. If you turn right when you leave, you're right at Confucius Temple, and a left turn takes you to Nanjing Dapaidang. Li Baixie is also right in front of the hotel, so it's incredibly convenient. The staff member, Wenwen, was also very enthusiastic and spoke so sweetly. It was super easy to store our things and luggage, and she was always eager to help us with any questions we had. The room was clean too. Overall, I highly recommend it!!!

Overall, a great hotel! The front desk service was excellent, providing helpful recommendations for dining, entertainment, and transportation, making it easy for guests to choose. They even proactively upgraded our room to a two-bedroom, one-living room, one-bathroom suite, which was very spacious and trustworthy! The hotel's location is superb, right near Fuzi Temple, making travel convenient and fast. We could reach the Qinhuai River Scenic Area in just 10 minutes. The hotel is located on the lower floors facing the street, so the surrounding environment was a bit noisy, and the elevators and room facilities were a bit older.

The room is very clean. The service attitude is also very good. The mattress is soft. There are free drinks in the room. You can also taste desserts and cocktails for free. The overall environment is very good. I am very satisfied. I will choose this hotel next time

Free underground parking is a bonus, though it was scorching hot in there – I'm guessing it's where all the AC outdoor units are kept. The hotel is very close to the Confucius Temple scenic area, just a 5-minute walk away. There are plenty of convenient street food options nearby. Our room was quiet, and the facilities were decent.

The hotel boasts an excellent location; turn right upon exiting and you're directly at Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple), making it incredibly convenient for exploring. There's also a very nice tea house downstairs, which is a great option for elderly guests who prefer not to venture out. The themed rooms are quite unique. My child, who usually avoids writing at home, spent time daily practicing quick-dry calligraphy here – that was truly a delightful surprise! Now, regarding the service. As expected from a five-star hotel, the service was truly exceptional. We had elderly family members with us, and the hotel even provided a wheelchair... This time, I had booked two twin rooms, which were conveniently arranged opposite each other. To my surprise, my room didn't have a shower stall, yet the room for the elderly guests opposite did – quite peculiar. Due to a knee injury, I couldn't use a bathtub, so I requested a room change. To my delight, the hotel immediately upgraded me to a suite, which was fantastic service! However, the suite only had one king-size bed and a camp bed. My son is too old to share a bed with me, so I ended up sleeping on the camp bed, which wasn't very stable. Still, considering they had already accommodated my request by changing my room, I didn't make a fuss. On the downside, the hotel's WiFi was very poor – perhaps a common issue with older establishments. The room lighting was also quite dim. Additionally, the soundproofing was an issue; my room seemed to be next to an elevator shaft or an electrical room, as there was constant noise throughout the night that kept me from sleeping. I eventually had to ask the front desk for earplugs to solve the problem. Despite these minor drawbacks, I'd say it's still a pretty good hotel overall.

I've been to Nanjing countless times, and I've finally unearthed a hidden gem in Xinjiekou! The cream-colored minimalist decor is so gentle and soothing, you instantly feel relaxed the moment you step into the room. The amenities are top-notch: a King Koil mattress so comfortable you won't want to get up, a Dyson hairdryer, a Rielt smart toilet, and German-imported showerheads – everything is premium quality! It's just a 6-minute walk to Deji Plaza and Golden Eagle International Shopping Center, and the Presidential Palace is also nearby. Hongmiao Snack Street is right next door, making it super convenient for shopping and dining. A taxi ride to Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) and Laomendong is just the starting fare. The large Panasonic makeup mirror in the room really understands women, and the complimentary hot milk and eye masks are incredibly thoughtful. The huge windows offer great night views, creating a wonderfully slow-paced atmosphere. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Nanjing!

The environment here is lovely! The rooms are spotlessly clean and completely odor-free. The location is excellent, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. A delightful bonus is the kittens downstairs you can pet. Directly opposite, you'll find the hotel's own restaurant, which serves pretty good food. And for those who enjoy a quiet moment, there's a charming little bookstore right across the street where you can relax with a book.

The place was spotless, and the front desk staff were lovely. While our double room was a tad small, it was still very comfortable. It overlooked large trees, making it quite quiet. Plus, it's super close to the main attractions and has plenty of food choices nearby. A great stay for anyone visiting Nanjing!
