"Excellent stay! The breakfast was fantastic, and the staff were attentive and meticulous. The room was huge, especially by Japanese standards – incredibly spacious and a rare find. It truly felt like a secluded paradise."
"This hotel is super convenient, just a 2-minute walk from JR Nara Station. They even upgraded us to a high-floor room with a great view, and the room itself was very spacious with a separate shower and toilet. The large public bath was a huge bonus – perfect for unwinding after a long day of sightseeing. Getting to Montbell was easy, just a single bus ride away (though make sure to check the bus schedule on a map!). There's also a fantastic conveyor belt sushi place right next to Montbell. To get to Nara Park and Mt. Wakakusa, you just need to catch a bus from the other exit of the station, and there's a large Aeon supermarket conveniently located at the bus stop."
"Staying at the Nono Onsen Hotel in Nara this time was an incredibly pleasant, almost flawless accommodation experience! The hotel is steeped in Japanese style, and from the moment you walk in, you're enveloped in a warm, tranquil atmosphere. The combination of wooden structures and soft lighting makes you relax as soon as you enter the lobby, as if you've traveled back to the embrace of an ancient capital.
The room's decor continued this antique charm, with the scent of tatami mats and the texture of wooden furniture making it incredibly comfortable. Although it's a modern hotel, traditional aesthetics are evident in every detail, such as the low tables and chairs, Japanese-style sliding doors, and soft yukata robes. After a relaxing dip in the hot spring in the evening, sitting by the window in a yukata, gazing at the night view, truly gave me that ”this is how you should stay when in Nara” feeling.
The hotel's natural hot springs were undoubtedly its most impressive feature. Both the cleanliness and ambiance of the main bathhouse were impeccable. Soaking in the steamy spring water melted away the day's fatigue. There's also an open-air bath, where the gentle breeze against your skin was so delightful, it made you forget the passage of time.
The service was equally commendable. The front desk staff were friendly and enthusiastic, incredibly thoughtful whether it was for luggage storage or recommending restaurants. Upon check-out, they even kindly suggested I could enjoy an early morning soak before leaving – these gentle gestures truly left a lasting impression.
Overall, the Nono Onsen Hotel excels in comfort, ambiance, and service, and it's the kind of place you'll fondly remember after you leave. If I had to sum it up in one sentence, it would be: **It offers both the relaxation of a journey and the warmth of home.** I would unreservedly give it a five-star rating and would love to stay here again on my next visit to Nara!"
"This is a great choice for solo travelers. It's located on Nara's main street, perfectly situated between Kintetsu Nara Station and JR Nara Station, offering easy access to all the major sights. There are numerous dining options nearby, and I'd advise against eating at the hotel as the prices are quite high. It's excellent for an overnight stay and provides great value for money. Although the rooms are small, they're well-equipped, and you can even take a bath to relax and wash away the day's tiredness. The view is alright. If you're after luxury, there are plenty of 4- and 5-star hotels in the area."
"It's very comfortable as its name. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have Laundromat coined machines plus driers on 5th floor. It's very convenient. However, the breakfast is almost totally the same. I stayed there 4 nights. They changed a few menus. If you don't mind, you can get some meal box from AEON supermarket at JR Nara station and warm it with the microwave at the hotel. That's fine."
"The hotel is literally next to the JR Nara Station. You can purchase all of your travel tickets there and the airport bus tickets, too. In that area, there is a grocery store, a Walgreens type store, and nice affordable places to eat. I highly recommend the place on the corner(pic #1-2). The two guys that run it are so nice. There is a long shopping/restaurant street kinda across from the tourist center. I don't recommend this one ramen place located there. They make everyone pay before eating, and for the basic ramen that I got, it was overpriced. My bowl wasn't even full!(pic# 3-7)
The tourist center is located close by, and the folks in there are very helpful(pic# 8). All of the buses are right there, so touring is very easy. The hotel itself is very comfortable. It's keyless, so take a picture of your pass code. The onsen on the premises has a pass code as well. Inside was very nice and relaxing. I went at 2:20am and it was wonderful. They have pajamas, pillows, and a free happy hour. The variety of spirits is extensive. Also, the elevator smells so good! The scent will de stress you. You can try a lot of things with a nice view of the station. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The last two pictures are the view of the bus terminal. There is another one on the other side of the building. This is the front view (airport bus location)"
"This place was so cute and excellent. Staff didn't speak much English, but we were able to communicate easily enough. Room was Japanese Ryokan style. Tatami mats, low table. It had everything needed, shower and toilet in the room too. There is also an onsen that you can reserve for your private use. I asked for a time later at night and they still had one spot available. If you can't get a time then it is ”public use” after 22:00, which seems to mean that you might need to share if others want to join. Location was very good, right in the middle of the historic part of town and a short walk (<5 min) to Nara park to see the deer. Hotel was very nice and clean. I was here in late December and the air conditioning heater in the room was very good too."
"The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, including the bedding. While the room was well-equipped, some facilities felt a bit dated. However, both the interior and exterior of the building exuded an aristocratic grandeur. The front desk staff were incredibly polite, professional, and went above and beyond to help guests with any issues. The hot spring had specific operating hours, and unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to experience it, which was a slight disappointment."
"The room was small, but spotlessly clean and well-maintained, equipped with all the necessary amenities. The breakfast selection was quite varied, and the service was attentive and courteous. A good hotel overall."
"Hotel Nikko truly lives up to its reputation as a renowned Japanese hotel chain. Hotel Nikko Nara is ideally located right at the exit of JR Nara Station. With bus terminals (both north and south plazas) conveniently situated just outside, it offers exceptional ease of access to Nara Park and other major attractions. The hotel's service attitude was also outstanding. Immediately upon check-in, a kind staff member from the hotel lounge noticed we had a child with us and thoughtfully prepared two different flavored juices and cookies for us to take to our room. It was such a considerate gesture to help tide us over! After returning to the hotel from our outing, we were pleasantly surprised to find our clothes and toys neatly organized and even arranged adorably. They truly went the extra mile!"

Amazing
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is fantastic, right next to the subway station, making it incredibly easy to find upon exit. Just diagonally across from the hotel, there's a bustling shopping street, offering great convenience for dining and shopping. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel with direct service to Nara Park, allowing you to get off and leisurely explore the area. We booked a room including breakfast, which was a buffet. The front desk staff were also very friendly and welcoming. If you arrive early, you can even store your luggage with them and go explore before check-in.
AAnonymous UserNice Japanese style experience.
The room was really nice and big size, very traditional.
The breakfast was good but I was expected more, but at the end it was ok.
The owner was kind but seemed a bit stressed about visitors.
I recommend to visit Hotobit but if you don’t have lot of luggage’s to carry because is a bit far away from the city center by walk also from any restaurant.
The good think is that is a 5 minutes by walk far from the bus stop.
Wwee teeBooked this hotel through Trip which was a godsend. The hotel that I booked through ******* was screwed up big time by ******* because the hotel didn't receive the reservation apparently. ******* was not helpful with the relocation (even thought there were availability at other hotels), claiming the hotel class are different from the one I booked. Anyways this hotel is convenient and clean, only thing that I disliked was the site mentioned double bed BUT only can accommodate 1 person!? Ended we have to pay additional ¥3k for the 3rd person (my youngest daughter) for 2 rooms. 1 room for myself and the other for both daughters because the manager was adamant about the 1 room per person, however after paying the additional ¥3k he was ok with 2 persons in a room. Didn't make sense unless I was explained it is some government regulations to allow only 1 double bed room for 1 person
2205185****This is the most stupid hotel I have ever been to. I had my breakfast here and that’s food to make sure. And for lunch I decided to eat some sandwiches at the canteen. That’s also food with no smell. When I was just about to order some drinks, a staff came to me and said ‘food is not allowed here.’ Then where else can I eat this??? And he said downstairs in b1. I was totally shocked by his logic which was zero logic. Breakfast = food and outer food = food as well, like it’s just a sandwich with no smell. Is it not a hotel that guests are even not allowed to eat their food in the sun with fresh air?? Any food not provided by them are not allowed and there was no other space to sit in the lobby. This is as funny as ****. They are even more stupid than robots that they make up rules with no logic and they will follow them without thinking till die.
GGuest UserHotel is at Kintetsu Nara station. Easily accessible when taking train. Nice quaint area to walk. Room has humidifier, kettle and cups, hairdryer, mini fridge and a tv. Breakfast comes with delicious thick toast set and coffee. Laundromat is at the cosy lobby area. I stayed for 2 nights. Many good eateries around the area and shopping malls. Tourist attractions are walking distance only. Highly recommend this hotel 👍🏻
GGuest UserThis hotel is exactly something what we expected to experience with a Japanese style room and hot spring. We chose Japanese style room which was spacious enough for 3 guests. Hotel fee already included Japanese dinner served inside room and breakfast (Japanese or American) served in their restaurant. Hot spring is available from 4pm-11pm, however, no morning session is available which a bit disappointed us. Hot spring area is not big, it is more enjoyable when there are only 2-3 guest in the pool.
Hotel location is good, only about 6 mins walk from Kintetsu Nara station. The only bad thing was NO elevator or escalator from the station up to ground floor exit. All other main tourist attractions are within walkable distance.
GGuest UserThe location is right in the shopping street and also at the Kintetsu exit, it is only 15 minutes to go to the park. The staff is warm and courteous, the hot springs are fine but quiet enough. The hotel is old but tidy, there is no daily necessities except old towels, including a blow dryer in the hot spring area, and there is nothing towels lock. Of course, this price can't be too much, remember this is a hotel. I was impressed by the invincible location and courteous staff, I can't say whether I like it or not.
FFajriahThe guest house is so nice, it's basically a typical house in Japan, so you can experience living in japanese house. The owner is very friendly and the bathroom is very clean. But you can easily hear a noise from outside.
LLindsayIt’s a really lovely old Japanese house, but it’s really not been made over into a guest house at all.
1. There are pictures of a bath. It is not in the hotel it is just a separate public bath you have to pay for…
2. They charge for everything including “renting” towels and yukata
3. No noise blocking at all and kids are allowed. It sounds like they are in your room
4. Contactless check in doesn’t feel very safe
GGuest UserFirst of all, the service staff is warm and thoughtful, and the attitude is amiable! Tell the precautions, the hotel is clean and hygienic, and the quilt is covered by yourself. The bathroom in the bath is particularly clean. Every guest is very conscious. Try to control yourself and not disturb others. It is really great!
