The Rawla Narlai - A Luxury Heritage Stay in Leopard Country

Narlai- The place and its people and obviously not to leave the resort far behind has a charm of its own. This was our 4th visit in past 3 years and from the part of Rajasthan I come, there are beautiful resorts and Hotels just a throw away. Still somehow this beautiful resort has made a special place in our heart which gives us a reminiscent feeling every time we complete our stay here. Special shout out goes to Mr. Ravindra, the resort manager who gives you a personal touch on each an every step of your stay till the time you reach your destination to the time you leave back to your place. No wonder there is something in the water of this place that even panthers are pretty friendly with the visitors and give you a magnificent siting when you go for the Safari. Not to mention the special feeling you get in the morning when you go for the mountain trekking and once you reach at the top where there is the elephant statue, you get the bird eye view of the whole city of Narlai. In the end I would recommend everyone who are avid travellers to visit this place once in their lifetime and try to cover all the activities that are on the offering from their end. This is truly for me a home away from home. Will visit soon..

Well, what can we say about this utter delight, tucked away from the bustling streets. Ravindra Singh the Operations manager went out of his way to make our stay extra special, the Stepwell dinner was out of this world, such an experience, really you must do this. The leopard spotting was super well organised, sadly we did not see one in the morning, but had a call early evening stating they had seen one, off we went, and yes, there she was. Absolutely beautiful to see in their natural setting, it’s a must. The gardens are lit by candlelight each evening and it is simply magical. Our rooms was decorated to a degree we have never seen before it was such fun for our wedding anniversary, a lot of effort had gone into this!!. Pool was lovely and the food we had in the evening was sensational, I can not praise this hotel enough on so many levels. Without doubt staff training is high on their agenda all staff were so very very helpful, it was an absolute privilege to stay there. Thank you so very much.

Since we decided to celebrate our 5th anniversary in Rajasthan, I did a little research and discovered Rawla Narlai. Rawla Narlai has a rich history that dates back to the 17th century when it was built as a hunting lodge by the Jodhpur royal family. The highlight of our stay here, had to be the Step-well dinner at a historic 18th century baori which was used to collect rainwater for the local community. Our evening began in true Rajasthani fervor- Ashutosh was dressed in a Rajputi pagdi and I was adorned in a bandhani odhani. Our journey into the wilderness happened in a bullock cart with a lantern bearing guide. We then approached the 1100 year old step-well-Ambabag, illuminated with more than 500 oil lamps and lanterns. In the setting of a dramatic starry sky and old folk tunes played by a sadhu, next to a blazing fire- it felt like time travel! We were served a delicious traditional five-course Rajasthani meal prepared by the warm and friendly locals. The entire experience seemed like stepping into a fairytale- something that would remain etched in our memories for a very long time.

We were only at this hotel for one night but we wished we could stay longer! Wow! It is absolutely beautiful in every way. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are beautifully appointed with every small detail covered. It’s in a village we’re everyone is very friendly - our daughter loved saying hi and “high fiving” the local kids. There is a lot to do near the hotel (safari, step well etc) that we would try when we next visit. I would highly recommend this property!

Ravindra went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect. I would rate the leopard safari far superior than our trip to Ranthambore to (not) see tigers. Ended up just being the 2 of us on the jeep with very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable guide and driver. We were given binoculars, tea, biscuits, water etc. and the guide sent us all the photos he took with his ‘proper’ camera. Fantastic service! Oh.. and the hotel is excellent too! Only stayed one night, wish it had been longer.

Our stay was very peaceful. I was impressed by the Staff, they were very Friendly and extremely helpful. I will certainly be staying here again. Our leopard safari was too good.They made sure that we spotted leopard. Overall stay was pleasant.

Amazing experience and service. Would recommend for sure. Nice hospitality. Food was very delicious. Candle light dinner was great. Narlai is nice. Tea by the lake experience is also one of a kind. Beautiful area. Bullock cart ride was a fun one.
