Last time we were in a different hotel, so thought we’d try this new one, Hotel Praia. In a good location, walking distance to the bus station and a couple of blocks to the beach and the touristy restaurants and shops along the waterfront. Breakfast was included and generally, it was fine. Great Nespresso coffee machine! Eggs were sweet; maybe someone put sugar in them? Sausages and bacon were not to our liking, but we appreciated the pastries, cereal, fresh fruit and yogurts. Staff at front desk were pleasant and helpful, but anytime we needed something, there was only one person working, so always had to wait. Same happened at breakfast in that there was not enough staff for all the people trying to eat. But, everyone was working hard and were very nice. New, light and bright, big rooms. Safe not working, very spare with really no decoration and minimalist white furniture, no hooks in bathroom, no place to hang towels and stuff. Wi Fi works okay, terrible water pressure, how about putting in some hooks and shelving. Also, places to plug in devices were needed. We don’t watch tv in a hotel, but this was the smallest tv we’d ever seen; if it was 15 inches, I’d be surprised! The hotel room was unfortunately not clean when we checked in and never vacuumed during our stay. We walked in the room in white socks and they were filthy, and lots of stuff stuck to them!

We stayed here 2 nights. We had a duite with our own deck and lounge chairs. unfortunately those lounges had bird poop on them when we arrived and were never cleaned. nor were we offered any nlanket or towel covering to allow us to use them. the room was clean overall and very spacious. the safe in the room did not work, even after we had staff come to reset it. the tv remote did nog work in the sitting area. Because of covid, amenities are reduced. the outdoor pool was open, and families were definitely enjoying it. the restaurant was not open the first night, and the bar had only snacks to offer. although the hotel advertises that they have a shuttle van, it was not available while we were there. The hotel sits high on a hill anove the town of Nazare so enjoys a lovely view. We asked about bus service to the hotel are and were told there is none. this is incorrect, however. we found a bus stop 3 doors away from the hotel and discovered it makes a loop through town. We sldo asked about restaurants and cafes nesr the hotel and were told we would need to go down to town. again this was incorrect. we found a fabulous restaurant next door.

First I'd like thank the lovely receptionist who checked us in and later offered us a ride to the village as we were walking there. I didn't get the chance thank her again. We decline as we love to walk and wander but we were very appreciative of her gesture. The hotel has a lovely view over the beach and the cliffs. We took advantage the dinner buffer which had a lot choices and all were delicious. Breakfast was also great, the bed comfy and the room cozy. We will definitely be back someday.

Was confused why we were told we must pay upfront for our stay before even checking in. We have always paid at checkout. Then we were told our credit cards didn’t work and we must pay cash upfront. We used our debit card to pay but this caused worry for us about our cards. We spent an hour waiting on hold with MC to assure us there was nothing wrong with our cards using up a lot of our roaming phone credit…which turned out to be completely unnecessary. The room was ok with a comfortable bed and pillows. The emergency cord in the bathtub has been cut off at the base and is a safely issue. The internet connection is slow/non existent and most of the cable channels are unavailable. There is no kettle or bar fridge in the room. The breakfast buffet is very sp**** with no jams or any hot buffet items beside cold scrambled eggs. There are the usual cold offerings like cheese, cold cuts and buns, bread and cake.

Nous avons séjourné 3 nuits dans cet hôtel qui est très bien situé sur l'avenue principale de Nazaré face à la plage. De nombreux points sont à améliorer : - L'accès à l'hôtel n'est pas terrible et ne donne pas du tout envie. Il semblerait que ce dernier ait obtenu 2 étoiles.. je ne sais pas sur quel critère mais c'est à revoir car pas du tout digne de cela. - Les chambres sont petites, il est difficile de faire le tour du lit et de pouvoir poser sa valise quelque part. - La salle de bain est vitré et donc non insonorisé.. pas tellement d'intimité et pas fonctionnel - Propreté : moyenne. - De nombreuses choses ne fonctionnait pas : lumières et pomo de douche défectueux. - La ventilation de la salle de bain ne fonctionnait presque pas ou pas du tout, il y avait donc toujours de l'humidité dans la salle de bain et la chambre. - Il y avait vraiment aucune insonorisation : nous entendions les personnes dans la rue comme si nous étions avec elles, une ventilation se trouvant juste en bas de la chambre (un vacarne permanent), tout ce qui se passe dans le couloir est entendu dans les moindres détails et même le bruit des assiettes du restaurant juste en dessous (nous étions au premier étage). - Le petit déjeuner semblerait être obligatoire lors de la réservation : les produits proposés sont de basses qualités et peu variés. - L'accueil et la politesse du personnel n'est pas terrible L'hôtel à voulu faire des choses modernes mais pas pratique du tout et pas de bonne qualité. Points positifs : - Le matelas est confortable, nous avons passé de bonne nuit heureusement. - Accès rapide à la plage, commerces et restaurants à proximité Pour le tarifs des nuitée et le nombre d'étoiles, nous nous attentions à mieux.. nous avons été très déçu de ce séjour. Je pense que l'organisme qui donne les étoiles devraient repasser dans cet hôtel pour vérifier ce qui se fait actuellement car il ne mérite même pas 2 étoiles.
