I checked in at about 8:45 p.m. and was allocated a so called Executive room. I went out to get some food immediately after checking in. I got back at about 10 p.m. and prepared myself to sleep. There were mosquitoes in the room, no mosquito net, so I switched on the air conditioning as the lodge did not provide any mosquito repellant or insecticide. I however couldn't sleep and about 1 a.m. when I realised the reason I couldn't sleep which was a hard mattress. The mattress felt like I was lying down on a rock. I went to the reception and did not get any assistance at all. I then requested for a refund from the owner who indicated that it can only be done in the morning at 8:30. I then left to find descent accommodation elsewhere which I did at the marvelous "The Urban Hotel". In the morning I went back to the Lodge to get my refund and the owner of the Lodge refused to refund me claiming I used the room and ignored the fact that the mattress which is the main thing I went for so I could have a good night rest was pathetic. She even dared me to take her to court as she was not going to refund me at all. She went on ranting and raving with so much unreasonableness that I had to start coaching her on customer service. In the end I did not get my refund and was such a waste of time engaging her. This is a bad place to stay and I would not recommend for anyone to stay at this Lodge. Further, the lodge doesn't provide courtesy water in the rooms. The owner of this Lodge is arrogant and does not understand how to give excellent customer experience.
