Hotel berhampiran Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station, Neokhorio

After a night at the worst hotel in Paphos we found the CSG and after an early morning call they sent a taxi to rescue us and we were in the lobby with a cold drink and a warm welcome within an hour. The pool area is lovely and no shortage of beds towels anything you might need . After a restorative cosmopolitan and some sliders everything felt better. Our rooms were very luxurious and had everything you could want. Robes and products all lovely. Feedback from us would be that the blackout curtains don’t quite block out the gorgeous sunrise but that on the room front was all. The gym opens from 8 and 7 would have been ideal as we were up early with the sun but otherwise it was fully stocked and a really great gym . We didn’t make it to the spa as felt very treated as we’re were but it looked great and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were a real treat everything you could possibly want and the staff were all utterly fantastic . Couldn’t rate having a better breakfast anywhere we have stayed . Restaurants were lovely kohili and bonsai were the best and the manager and staff were busy but very attentive. We would have liked another choice maybe a steak place but that’s just a tiny thing. Where the restaurants are located the kitchens cooking must be satalite as sometimes the wait was long so with kids they got bored but once we got used to ordering there food to come first it was all great. Consistency would be the only feedback we didn’t get water refreshed in rooms everyday so maybe a water fountain would be good as we both drink 4 litres each a day. Sliders were different at the pool and kohili so as you know with kids this can be a challenge but really wasn’t a huge problem once we knew. Sometimes the pool staff served very quick but sometimes same had long waits for the order to be taken but really we could just get up and order at the bar so again not an issue just inconsistent. The cocktail night with managers was a nice touch but we stumbled across is as we didn’t turn on the tv so didn’t get the message but was a lovely touch. We travel a lot high with kids and just us and we would like to come back again as it really had everything we wanted and we look forward to seeing how the resort grows and coming back again. The room was a very nice clean 1 bedroom suite. We included breakfast and dinner with our booking. The food was good family fare served in a buffet style. The highlight of the stay was the staff!! Every person we dealt with there was helpful and courteous. If we had a problem or a question we defintely got the feeling that they wanted to make sure they did whatever they could to satisfy us.

Another super visit to our favourite place, we have been visiting the hotel for ten years so the “Welcome Home” sign as you approach the reception, seems very apt indeed! It has been the hottest year ever in Cyprus (according to the internet) and there was certainly evidence of this around the island but the staff at Aphrodite Beach have clearly worked very hard to keep the gardens and orchard going. It was fig time this month and I really enjoyed them with breakfast, breakfast is always a highlight of this hotel, there is so much to choose from, including a cooked option. We ate in most evenings as I really enjoy the lovely buffet, especially the traditional Cypriot dishes like stifado and kleftiko. The various pets (well behaved) give a homely feel, I really enjoyed a drink after dinner, sitting on one of the sofas in the lounge with a cat by my side. This is certainly the place to get away from it all and relax. Looking out at the pouring rain, I wish I were back there now. We are planning a return visit in May next year, each month is different. We always hire a car and May is a lovely month for walking and seeing some beautiful flowers before the temperatures get too hot. We visited at the beginning of September this time and the sea was a beautiful blue and extremely warm. It is so nice to visit a beach with no seaweed or litter. The beach is incredibly clean and there is a certificate on the reception wall stating how important it is to keep the sea plastic free. Is this place for you? I hope so, it is most definitely the place for me!

We have just returned from the Souli Beach Hotel which is situated right on a very, very stoney beach, impossible to walk comfortably on, or go in the sea without beach shoes. The hotel is also situated right next to a very busy main road, so having a room overlooking the front of the hotel, bring ear plugs as morning rush hour traffic extremely noisy. Sea view rooms at the back of the hotel are very nice, but do not get any sun at anytime of the day. Rooms are very dated needing repair and update, someone said it's the same decor and bathroom tiles from when the hotel opened in 1960. We had a 3rd bed in our room which made moving around a tight squeeze. But on the up side the shower is good. The tv in the room only has 1 channel in English and programmes are hit and miss, no news channel, everything in Greek. There is nowhere on the balcony to dry towels, swim suites and the like, an air dryer would be nice to have. Rooms on pool side due to lack of sun find drying anything takes a while. We were disappointed that there was no lounge area with comfortable chairs and sofas where it would have been nice to sit and have a drink, there is a table, a two seater setter and a few plastic chairs, in fact a lot of plastic chairs everywhere. The pool is clean, plenty of sun lounger by the pool and on the lawns. The lawn area and gardens are lovely but A bit of landscaping wouldn't go amiss. Path ways on to the lawn would be nice as there are areas where the grass is very boggy, I lost my flip flop, and for an older person unsteady on their pins as the ground is uneven. Beware of the sprinklers that turn on between 3pm and 4pm. We ate twice in the resteraunt and that was enough. There are 2 wonderful resteraunt one next door The Peryiali Beach, the other a little further down Yialos resteraunt their food was excellent and Souli could take a lesson or two from them. Breakfast was plentiful but same old same old, a change would be nice. Can not fault the staff and service, very polite and helpful Just one word about the ladies and man who cleaned our room FANTASTIC. Souli Beach is suited more for adults, not much for children, not a child insight while we were there, the average age is 50 plus. Souli Beach with a little imagination, effort and of course money could be a really fantastic small family run hotel, with style and comfort, but it appears to rely on repeat clients and coach tours for lunches, and we feel it's getting a bit complacent about its upkeep, and appearance. We talked with other guests who also felt the same as we did. So as a first timer here, unfortunately we will not be returning unless a lot of improvements are made.

Please don’t listen to bad reviews, we still went after reading them and so glad we did and we had an amazing time. We’re looking at going back next year, as for Michael being rude I cannot believe that. He’s the most genuine helpful person we have met on holiday. He bent over backwards to help with anything we needed. As for lights out yes the bar closes early but plenty of other bars locally. The area is close to a lot of lovely little restaurants and bars and a short walk to the beach, and bus service is good if you want to go further out. As Michael says it’s a family run hotel, they do need to sleep at some point. There their for breakfast, lunch, dinner and pool bar as well as reception 24 hours. So all you cranky guests who are probably trying to blame someone because you don’t know how to entertain yourselves please do not blame the hard working staff 😡
