DoubleTree by Hilton New York JFK Airport

Convenient option close to JFK, but plan carefully for the shuttle if arriving late. The hotel is very conveniently located near JFK Airport, and the shuttle from the hotel back to the airport was clear and easy to use. It appeared to operate regularly, including late hours, which is very helpful for airport stays. However, the arrival experience from JFK to the hotel was less clear. The hotel shuttle pickup is at Federal Circle AirTrain Station, but this was not clearly indicated to me when arriving late at night. I could not easily find the shuttle around midnight, and in the end I had to take an Uber, which significantly increased the cost of what was supposed to be a convenient airport hotel stay. Future guests should take precautions, confirm the exact shuttle pickup instructions with the hotel in advance, and not assume the shuttle will be immediately visible or available without waiting. Otherwise, the stay was good. The front desk staff were nice and professional, and the welcome cookies were a pleasant touch. The room was comfortable, the location is practical for JFK, and the breakfast buffet was good. There did not seem to be many other nearby breakfast options, so having breakfast at the hotel is probably the most convenient choice. Overall, a useful airport hotel, especially if you clarify the shuttle arrangements before arrival.

The room itself was excellent, as was the front desk service. my only negative comment would be the same as other reviews of this hotel.....the road noise! I am not a light sleeper, but was still woken by the road noise outside. It seems there is no double glazing on the windows to help block the outside noise which seems strange given the standard (cost) of the hotel and its location! The Shuttle service was very efficient for dropping back to the airport (to desired terminal), however you need to be aware that they do not pick up from each terminal. The hotel shuttle buses all pick up from one point at Federal Circle which you get to on the Airtrain. Other then that, the hotel was good for an overnight stay before an early flight.

Location is convenient to/from JFK, especially with the hotel's shuttle service.

The hotel staff were patient and courteous. I provided my Hilton Honors number and was upgraded to a double queen room. Much appreciated. The room was clean and quiet. Couldn't ask for more for our one night stay.

Good fitness center. Decent room.

At arrival, the phone service to call for the hotel shuttle service was not working. At the hotel, there was no luggage trolley for guests to load their luggages. Overall at the reception, not very friendly.
