The location is nice, close to Times Square. The hotel is clean, as other Hilton hotels. Breakfasts are good too, with very pleasant service. But there are some things that left that bitter feeling after my stay that I would like to share.
1. Destination charge. This is the second Hilton hotel in New York I have stayed at, and both charged additional USD35 for so-called destination fee per night. As the receptionist said, it’s MANDATORY. This 35 dollars are charged per day and the guest must use it the same day, they don’t even accumulate. How do you spend it? In the hotel restaurant or bar. What can you buy with it? Three bottles of drinking water, or two cans of beer…. Why am I forced to spend my money on the things that I don’t need and that are so overpriced? You already charged me for the room, and I happily paid for it.
2. The hotel page here shows a picture of “swimming”. It’s a rooftop swimming pool. I was excited to have a chance to spend some time in the pool. The reception said there was none. Please remove the picture from the page, as it is misleading.
3. There is no tea or coffee in the room. That’s the amenity available in every hotel, even the cheap ones. But when we called the service, they said: no, we don’t offer coffee or tea. But they did bring us a kettle:) I can see that it’s not listed in the available amenities here, but I didn’t even expect that. It’s such a little thing that makes your guest’s stay more comfortable.
Anyways, it was quite a pleasant stay despite these unpleasant details. Thank you.

Overall a very solid hotel with very welcoming and helpful front desk staff. The rooms are decently sized for NYC and well-appointed with the essentials.
I was impressed when on at least one evening there was even turndown service.
The shower took a minute or so to have a proper water flow, though the pressure was never all that great.
I appreciate having the Nespresso machine and pods in the room.
I’m always glad to stay at this property especially because I very much like the location, not in the heart of a touristic area but still with many fantastic places to eat, excellent subway connectivity, and convenient shopping for the basics.

This hotel reminds me a lot of Tune hotels in Malaysia. Very basic facilities in a very small room. Many functions are controlled by an iPad, but you can use switches on the wall to do the same if you’re old school. My automatic curtain wasn’t working so my city view was obscured.
The hotel is “hip” - you check yourself in using a machine and once you’re settled, you can return to the lobby for some human contact at the bar.
The tariff was horrendous but the location was great and the bed was clean and comfortable.

Excellent experience. Guest services was top notched and very helpful. Rooms were clean and convenient location (also sound proof so we slept really well). If I needed anything, they were prompt to help and take care of reasonable requests. We had some sort of glitch on the initial check-in period but Jennifer was so sweet and handled it like a champ along with letting us check in early due to the room being ready. They even let us leave our luggage in locker room (after we checked out) so we could explore some more prior to leaving the city. What more can you ask for? Highly recommended!

PPengguna Tanpa Nama這裏應該是老酒店完全翻新的。房間非常漂亮，有格調，每一件物品都很講究，衞生間偏小，淋浴水量微小，可能是老的樓改的原因。不過值得一住。晚上樓下的酒吧看上去很不錯。房間的點餐口味很贊！而且快！有個小問題，前台押信用卡時，必須要帶芯片的。

KKitrynThis hotel is immaculate and absolutely everybody is above and beyond pleasant. Though not directly affiliated with the hotel, Inexpensive, super clean and very easily accessible parking is a two minute walk away at 25 Kent St. We paid $64 for 2 1/2 days of parking. The room was incredible. Exposed brick walls with super high ceilings, the bathroom had a huge tub and a wonderful shower. Pro tip: if traveling with someone that you do not want to see you naked, understand that it is not a one-way mirror over the bar and you absolutely CAN see into the shower While someone is showering. Luckily I was with my daughter, so this was not a real issue. The restaurant within the hotel and the Ramen place directly next-door are both wonderful. I did not make it to the rooftop bar this time but since I absolutely will stay at this hotel every time I come to visit I will check it out next time! The room was extremely quiet, temperature was easy to control. Now, a little too much honesty, I am an extremely “sensitive” person, and resting and hearing so much from the second I stepped into this hotel. I was never scared, as I definitely don’t typically get scared, but I had numerous very genuine and very obvious things happen while I say that this hotel, such as seeing things walk across the hall in both my room and the hallway, in the main lobby bathroom someone walked into the bathroom and into the stall next to me, but never left, and when I looked, there was no one there,and I was in the shower. I could hear several men talking to each other as if they were right next to me. I was definitely not hearing people from another room. I also heard the door to the stair well open, which is right next to our room and I was right next to the door so when I looked, there was nobody there and I pulled it shut again. Just out of curiosity, as to what was there prior to the hotel, on the way home my daughter looked up the history to the hotel. Let’s just say it was very enlightening as to why i was experiencing so much activity in this hotel, especially on the third floor next to what I will assume would have been a fire escape at some point. It also may explain why the first thing that went through my mind when I opened the front door of the hotel and turned to my daughter and said “I’m surprised the hotel gets away with door opening inward. It goes against fire code. Anyway, You can look up the history yourself and understand all that I have said. :-)  either way, a spectacular hotel at a decent price and a very safe and beautiful part of the city. I will definitely stay here again!

PPengguna TetamuAfter reading the reviews on here I wasn’t expecting too much from this hotel. I wanted to write some comments that reflect on the main themes I picked up (where they were similar and different). It seems I wasn’t charged the additional destination fee for my stay, although I had to ask a second member of staff to confirm as the first wasn’t clear. When I arrived for check in there was no wait. The staff member was not terribly friendly and welcoming. Of all the three hotels I stayed at in three different cities in the US, this stuck out as the poorest customer service. It wasn’t awful just not as welcoming as the other places. The information provided was not as clear and the general manner quite abrupt. The room was clean but the hotel generally was dated. The rooms didn’t seem fully clean or fresh but it was more that things were scratched, worn and dated rather than dirty. There were some stains on the carpet too. The location was, as others have said, excellent. I would have expected more for the price but it also was better than expected from reading some of the reviews on here.

MMisti WallerWe get there at 10:00am - We knew we couldnt check in but asked anyway. Lady on Thurs 9/28 told me we couldnt yet and gave us bag tags to hold our bags for us. Very nice and pleasant. We then return to the hotel at 9pm to finally check in. We had a great day seeing the city. We are then told that the room I booked was over sold and they can not provide me with a King that I purchased but a double. This was the manager - She discounted the bill and $54 and told me they would make sure we were accommodated tomorrow. The room we were put it was the size of a walk in closet with a bed with a window unit that water dropped on all night making a loud noise with every drop. It also had a broken shelf above the sink so you literally had no where to put anything. It was horrible and honestly a $54 discount was not nearly enough.
Friday at 9am we come down turn in the room keys and explain to yet a third person....she understands and says I see notes here and we have a king room for you. I asked if we could go ahead and get the room number but she said no not yet we have to wait for the people to check out. We check our bags with tags and leave them at the desk again. We then spend another wonderful day exploring the city. We return around 9pm again and another person is working and has absolutely no idea of anything that was supposed to be done for us. I asked for any other room then the one we were in first and they had a queen room available. I took it after being so tired. The lady gave me the managers email and said he would speak to her for us. I will be reaching out but now that we checked out sat morning I dont believe we will be compensated for this terrible lack of communication. We never even got to unpack our bags.

JJaeStarI was a bit daunted by reviews when booking but was pleasantly surprised. Firstly, you get what you pay for (and a bit more). It’s a hostel with private rooms, not a hotel. Once you realize that, you manage your expectations. It is in a prime location next to Central Park and a short walk to Times Square. It is near a metro station and there are lots of stores and restaurants nearby. The room was adequate (I booked a single room). It was clean and comfortable. Inside the room was a small tv, a small refrigerator, a desk a twin bed and a small closet area. I wasn’t too concerned about the room because I didn’t intend to spend much time in there but it was comfortable enough for my stay. The bathrooms are shared but are privately used so you don’t actually share it with anyone while using. It was always clean and regularly checked (but of course as they are shared some people clear up after themselves better than others). There were several so I never needed to wait more than a few mins. The shower pressure was fine and the water temperature was perfect for me. Even though you pay for gym and facility use when you stay, I never used them so can’t comment on them.
The checkin and check out processes were easy. The staff were all friend and helpful. The building felt safe and I never felt worried about anything.
I don’t really have any negatives to comment on. There was a little noise at time from other residents but that’s beyond the control of the staff etc.
