Excellent accommodation! Especially with a short minute walk to St James's Park. This was my 3rd time travelling to Newcastle and I've stayed with the Premier Inn all 3 times

Arrived at hotel fine, all seemed well until we got into the room and realised it hadn't been cleaned, were moved to another floor. Dinner. Am gluten intolerant, no dedicated menu, rather a ringbinder to com through. Delays in service of 50 minutes, nobody bothering to let us know delay or check in with us, portions small, food not particularly warm and appeared to have just been thrown on the plate. At no point did anyone check how we were, update us on what was happening or apologise for the delay. Would never have expected such an awful experience from a chain priding itself on a good night's sleep. We were partially refunded and the breakfast food and service were excellent, but neither really mitigated such a terrible experience ahead of our flight out of the airport.

Stayed in this hotel for a one night business trip stay over. If you’re looking for something with a little character this is a great place to stay . Central Newcastle , right next to the central train station and Metro entrance, a little bit of elegance. A lovely entrance foyer ( decorated with an amazing Christmas tree) with large chandeliers and helpful staff at check in. Finding my room was a bit of an adventure , but part of the charm of a historic building . My room was clean , quiet , mini fridge , kettle and tea/coffee , tv , surprisingly good bathroom and comfortable bed. I had a good English breakfast in the morning , and again the staff were lovely. I thought it was very good value , and I would stay again .

Shopping, clubbing, sport, adventure? Whatever's on your 'must do' list, the Premier Inn Hotel Newcastle Millenium Bridge crosses things off nicely. It's in a quiet spot with lovely views over the River Tyne, but still only a minute's walk to the bustling bars and restaurants of Newcastle Quayside. Enjoy an event at the Sage Gateshead, a match at St James' Park, a concert at the nearby Metro Radio Arena, or catch the star names at the theatre. Whether you're here for work or play, you can be sure of a warm welcome, a tasty restaurant, spacious rooms and cosy beds.

The older reviews here are way off. This is not a bad place to stay at all. The apartments are two houses attached to the Holiday Inn that have been converted to a high standard. I stayed in London for a couple of nights and around 50 quid per night and I was very impressed. The apartments have a small kitchen with a sink, dishwasher and microwave toaster kettle, etc nice bathroom with rainfall shower and a comfortable double bed. The only issue I encountered was that the desk seemed to be broken. When is staying in a hotel? I make sure that the bed is comfortable. The shower is good, and both of these are absolutely fine. I do not think you can beat this for the value, so we definitely recommend people stay here

I had an early morning flight and wanted the least worry option for making the flight. I chose the Britannia primarily because of its location but was pleasantly surprised when I checked in. The staff were very helpful and courteous, the prices of food and drink were very reasonable which was another eye opener as I’ve encountered the kind of airport hotel overpricing that normally entails travelling. All in all it was probably the best value for money hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve been all over the world. Neil

Fantastic stay at this hotel. Arrived at 1.30am with no problems checking in. Thought there would be some issues due to the time I arrived but zero problems at all. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from train and bus station so the location is great. The metro is also very close to the hotel. Breakfast was very good and the staff were extremely friendly. I would have no hesitation staying at this hotel or recommending it to others.

Grainger Hotel is a nice hotel at all. The room is neat and the counter is very helpful. There is a supermarket nearby so that you can get everything you need. It would be a 30-minute walk from station to hotel and you need to walk up some gradient. The streets may be dirty so don't put bags on the ground.

It is with great frustration I write this review. Meeting up with some past work colleagues was an overnight stay I was very much looking forward to, and did enjoy, apart from the parking fiasco! Having checked before travelling I anticipated my 24 hours parking charge to be £6, which I thought was very reasonable. Following my satnav I reached the city centre area pretty much to time expectation, however hitting the right turn to get to the Travelodge I was aiming for was not as straightforward. Using my wits, I asked a taxi driver for directions, who very kindly showed me the way. I parked, got my bag, and walked round to the hotel reception. The colleague on the desk immediately directed me to the parking screen, I duly put my car reg details in, and paid the charge (slightly more than I was expecting, but still reasonable at £9). I then tried to check-in. It was then that it became clear I was at the wrong Travelodge. The Colleague helpfully said, no problem this happens all the time, the Quayside hotel is just 10 minutes walk away. So I made my way over there, a bit fed up that my car was now parked at the wrong hotel. Horizon is the company who run the carpark, so when I realised it was the same organisation, to ease my trip home, I checked with the Quayside reception Travelodge staff the next morning if it would be ok to move my car? They did explain it wasn’t run by Travelodge, but one colleague took a note of my registration, and said it should be fine. So here’s the upset. I now understand, from someone who works in Travelodge, that the colleague at the first one I went to should have helped me ‘void’ that parking session, and guided me to the correct hotel and carpark. I also, having received an unexpected parking charge notice from Horizon, followed their appeals process, trusting that having fully paid £9 rather than £6 that would have been the cost to me, that they would uphold my appeal (I provided the context and a copy of the receipt for the carpark charge I had fully paid for). Nope, that would be the right and sensible thing, however they clearly are just an outfit looking to make money no matter what. So I have heard today that despite my explanation and corroborating receipt Horizon have rejected my appeal, and have demanded I pay a further £15. I have done this grudgingly, and sadly feeling that Travelodge are complicit. Had the first Travelodge colleague handled the situation as I believe she should, it would have been a thoroughly lovely visit 😠
