Lovely hotel in central location. Staff very nice & helpful. Recommend paying the extra & get valet parking as other option can be confusing to begin with. Roof top bar was lovely but music very loud. Love the Kevin Murphy bathroom products. Yes, we would stay again when in Newcastle.

First time at a Crystalbrook hotel. It was a pleasant experience. Rooms are really spacious with nice modern decor/retro design touches. Bed was ok, pretty firm. Room entry is a bit of a wasted space around closet area, probably could have been better utilised. Bathroom was well equipped, probably could have been bigger based on wasted entry area. The hotel has a rather sombre vibe so a bit vanilla in that respect. Restaurant not open Sunday eves so couldn't try. Bar on top level has pretty good views but a bit disjointed between nice bar and seating area in a seperate room. Didn't get a buzzy feeling there. Location was ok, bit out of central CBD but close enough to Darby St eateries so had my Sunday dinner there. Opposite Civic Park and close to waterfront. Loved the ”no plastic bottle” and refillable water stations for an eco friendly experience.

Our studio was in great condition - very spacious and clean. We enjoyed the communal area with charging points, and the overall look and feel of the hotel. It was a little bit loud at nighttime as there's a popular pub on the corner.

This hotel is in a perfect location and the staff make you so welcome . Rooms are clean and comfortable. James and Daniel at reception are very efficient , lovely lads who instantly made us feel so welcome and continued to look after us throughout our stay . Can’t wait to come back

We spent one evening in Newcastle to have a brief dinner visit with distant family and explore the city before traveling elsewhere in Australia. Our relative called the hotel first thing to see if our room would be available earlier than check-in time, and it was — which was so great after a long day of traveling! The rooms look a little more worn in person than in pictures, but are spacious, fully functional, and clean and comfortable. No complaints at all! Reception staff we interacted with were just plain fantastic! Be aware that they do other tasks besides just staffing reception, so you may need to call them rather than an in-person query. Multiple amazing coffee shops / cafes within a very short walk too, and light rail stops just down the street from the hotel. Would definitely stay here again!

Thanks to Scomo's Parenting Vouchers, we were able to stay at the Newcastle YHA (a family room for 4 was just over $100 per night). The location was right next to some of Newcastle's best attractions... Nobbys and Newcastle Beach, Macquarie's Pier/breakwall, Memorial Walk etc. The rooms were basic with linen/towels supplied and the kitchen and bathroom facilities were excellent and clean. Apparently the building was formerly a Gentlemen's Club, then a hospital for nurses during WW1. There's an interesting history but I'll let you research it.

Good place for what you pay Small room, wouldn't want to stay long We only stayed one night, which was OK A big plus is the hotel car park, you have to book and pay extra. Location is good for public transport as well The light rail stop and the train station are only a few Minutes walking away.

We had a late lunch with friends and shared a Newy pizza. It was absolutely delicious! When we placed our order it must have become lost and because our meal was arriving a little later than normal we were given free drinks all around. Both the chef and the waiter were apologetic, helpful and charming. We both would definitely recommend eating here for the delicious food, fantastic service and homely surroundings!

Awesome accommodation, amazing and compassionate staff (especially Demi). The rooms are always clean. There can be better rooms for the same price/cheaper elsewhere but I always prioritise The Lucky when booking as they always look after us. Additional bonus, they have a lift for accessibility.
