Hotel berhampiran Heyendaal Station, Nijmegen

Hotel is erg goed gelegen op het einde van de hippe winkelstraat waar ook ook veel restaurants gelegen zijn, dichtbij Grote Markt, Waal kade, Kronenburger park. Onze kamer was blijkbaar in renovatie want er hing een indringende verfgeur en verf sporen op de badkamer vloer die nog niet verwijderd waren. TV moeten verbinden en opnieuw moeten installeren. Voor sommigen misschien details maar zou in orde moeten zijn.

Prima hotel! Badkamer was alleen niet heel schoon en er ontbraken war handige dingetjes zoals koffiemokken en een haakje voor je handdoek in de badkamer.

The place is nice, staff great. Unfortunately I can not split the stars so please read this. The one star is just and only for the Spa, and it's management. Today I booked a duo scrub to do something nice with my daughter. On the website it is written: Scrub, cream, and head massage for 2 people.50 minutes, 98 euro. This is misleading and totally unfair for the client. We get in and we have 1 masseuse for 2 people.So technically I am paying 49 euro each for 25 (it was 20 at the end) minutes, and not for 50 minutes. Again: THIS is not specified on the website. We are sitting on no bed, just some estethician chairs which put your head lower than your body, totally uncomfortable. Totally low standards. We get scrub on 4 parts of our body: lower legs, front arms, beginning of your back and belly.And we are asked to turn. So only front Then we shower, and with the swimming suits on and with the face towel we get (small) it's totally impossible to get the scrub out. I remove my swimming suit, and I ask for a shower towel, while I am trying butt naked to climb on the chair again. Then comes the cream on the same 4 spots. At my question : why don't we get cream on hands and feet, she says that: The cream makes the feet sliding and the client could fall (!!) And: Masseuse has a phobia touching feet. (Really??? Who hired you?and why don't you do facials then?). Last is the head massage of 5 minutes which it hurts because the amount of oil is non existent. We leave and we paid 98 euro for half a treatment, a partial scrub, a partial cream, dry hands, feet, and lower back, and scrub all over places that I can't name. Masseuse pretends not to see my disappointment or she doesn't care That's a rip off. Nowhere on the website are these things mentioned and we were not informed upfront that the treatment would be only for 4 parts of the body and the masseuse was phobic. I didn't get the choice to stand up and leave, instead of being robbed off I go to complain to reception and the EXCEPTIONAL Lucy (excellent customer care) talks with the spa manager. Obviously the management hired the phobic masseuse so that's the standard. Amateur hour I don't get any excuses, and only 23 euro off the bill. Poor Lucy is left to represent the Sanadome and the shabby operation of a cheap and amateur spa management. She offers me drinks. I appreciate it. I would go back to the hotel and to the thermae, however I won't book a treatment ever again. And so should you do as well! Note for Sanadome management: This kind of service which is obviously incompetently managed from a third part, lowers your standards and your stars. Arrived very late to the hotel, Had a new staff so was not sure off a lot of things. It’s not near the city centre at all. Taxi required to the station.About €20 .Great for walks as it’s secluded and very green. Make sure you have had dinner if you are out and about in town as there might not be any at hotel. We were told as there were hardly anyone who wanted dinner on our last night, the kitchen / chef wasn’t making any dinner. Kids were hungry. Asked if anything at all could be made Pizza was suggested by one of the staff. She then told me it was frozen and would be warmed up😳😳. Hotel needs updating as it’s so dated. On the plus side, rooms were large and spacious.

The Hotel Van der Valk Nijmegen-Lent is quite simply outstanding! We travelled from Wales, UK, and this is the sixth year that we have stayed at the hotel during the period of the Vierdaagse 4-day Nijmegen Marches (second to third week of July). The hotel offers first class accommodation and service. The restaurant and bar are spacious and comfortable, and offer an excellent service and wide selection of food and drinks throughout the day and evening. Decor throughout is elegant. The hotel is located close to the city and is easily accessible by road and rail. It has a large integral multi-storey car park with free parking, and covered, direct and easy access to the hotel. It lies adjacent to the Nijmegen-Lent railway station, with frequent trains and a four minute journey into the central station and city of Nijmegen. We run out of superlatives in praise of the hotel staff! From Marije the Director and Marijn the Marketing and Communications Manager, to the reception, restaurant, Lola’s Bar and housekeeping staff, who are all just wonderful, courteous, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Communications throughout the booking, main stay and departure process were efficient and well coordinated. In our experience as international travellers of many years, the staff offer a wonderful, warm and personalised touch to your stay and are a credit to the hotel and the wider Van der Valk group. Very well done Hotel Van der Valk Nijmegen-Lent: 10/10 from us.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel 3 nights in May 2022. I observed some attitudes from the hotel's restaurant staff. One night we decided to eat at the hotel's restaurant. When we entered the restaurant, we saw 4 staff chatting together. They carried on chatting and ignored us. This carried on 10 minutes! Meanwhile, we waited. My husband then very politely tried to get one of the staff's attention but was totally ignored! She only looked up when she was good and ready. What usually happens is they'll say, ”ik kom eraan”. We'd have been happy to grant it. Once we were seated, one of the waiters went to another table who were seated after us. When the same waiter finally ”saw” us, my husband asked to look at the menu first. His demeanor changed and said, ”oh, you don't want any drinks,” said ”good” and just walked away!!! Only minutes later the leader of the wait staff came by with all the menus. What is it with the restaurant staff's attitude? The other staff were efficient and friendly though. Their rooms have different layouts. All are spacious but there are different layouts. Behind the hotel are woods with wonderful trails for long and short walks. This is a big group of hotels throughout The Netherlands

Stayed at Hotel Restaurant Umberto during Kings Day in April 2024. We are Senior Citizens and we enjoyed the hotel very much. It is a Very good location outside of the city of Nijmegen, Netherlands. Quiet location, Comfortable beds and rooms. All facilities in good working order. Free parking, also EV hookups. Located 5 minutes by car to the Wijchen RR station. Food at restaurant is very good and also Free breakfast which very good. Elevator to upper floors if you wish.

Hotel is perfect gelegen naast het Centraal Station en aan de rand van het winkelcentrum. In de lobby kun je werken en een kop gratis thee of koffie meenemen. Het personeel is jong en informeel. De kamers zijn niet groot, maar wel een goed bed en badkamer. Helaas troffen we de doodzonde aan voor iedere hotelkamer: een fles glijmiddel van vorige gasten onder het bed. Alhoewel de kamer niet vies was, is dit natuurlijk wel een aandachtspunt.
