The hotel breakfast experience has notably improved. Nicer setting, refreshed dining area, including the plates. I got room 4003, which was nice and modern. The only thing the hotel could do is improve the cleaning of the rooms. The bathroom smelled and it was not properly clean. I was here for one night so I didn’t press the issue, but would be great if management put some effort into this aspect of the hotel. Otherwise, very comfy room, hotel is close to everything and very quiet.

Cracking little Ibis, around 5 mins off the motorway. Very well soundproofed rooms, with big comfy beds. Loads of bars n restaurants within a 5 min walk. Grassy area out front of hotel for dogs. Good Wifi, secure parking and a very good breakfast choice. All staff great, especially the young guy from Brazil. Pool open, and big enough to swim laps
It gives me no pleasure to leave a poor review but it has to be said this was a disapointing stay. We chose the most expensive room which had two levels, upstairs being the main living room. We used photos to make our selection but they bore little resemblence to what we got. (Photo one/two) The room had been stripped down to bare essentials. No bedside lights or sockets. Furthermore the bathroom (somewhat grubby) was downstairs with the main light at the bottom of a narrow curved staircase. There was a table light at the top of the stairs which did not provide much safety. The balcony area was shared with three large air conditioning units. The downstairs rooms were likewise spartan, no carpets/rugs, poor decor and an old fence used as a headboard on the ground floor bed. (From which I got a splinter.) The main entrance was nicely appointed though the staircarpet was long overdue to be changed spoiling the impression. On arrival after driving 500 kms, we were told there was no food to be had. This as it turned out, was a lucky escape as when we did eat in, two days later when there was food, we were presented with gazpacho that was so vinegary it was imposible to finish and ”risotto”(??) literally pressed into a jam pot. No flavour, no presentation. The dessert was an industrial chocolate mousse in a jar. Good things: The pool area was nice and kept clean. (The water was very cold.) The breakfasts were good. The staff were friendly. I have tried to be fair in this review. Pré Galoffre needs to pay attention to details if it's to maintain it's place as third hotel in Nimes and not rest on any laurels it may have had in the past. We shall not return.
We stayed a week and thoroughly enjoyed our visit, but it's not without faults. Closer to 3 star than the declared 4star The garden offers some pleasant privacy. The pool is pristine and ideal for children to splash about in but swimming - no. Our room with access to the garden was very comfortable with quiet effective air conditioning.A well-appointed bathroom with good plumbing. Breakfast ( included ) was adequate. The cooked section was scrambled eggs and sausages, didn't like. Three minor things irritated us: Ordering a Gin& Tonic the only bottle was close to empty, the next evening there was no Gin and I was advised there would not be any for the rest of the week. As it happens a fresh bottle appeared on day three. The Hotel was understaffed as when ordering drinks they were started and were on the counter only to be abandoned as guests had arrived, when I enquired after our drinks I was blankly informed that guests had to be checked in, I mentioned that I had ordered prior to them arriving ( I apologised to the guests - but the ice was melting ! ) and then on checking out the receptionist said I had to pay for all extras for our visit without seeing a bill. I explained that I had never been asked to pay a hotel bill without being shown and was told ” I guess we're different” I thought it was rude and foolish. I would still totally recommend L'Orangerie, we really enjoyed ourselves, just be prepared to navigate the above ”silly annoying” things and all will be well. There is no dining room as such although plenty of space for breakfast. There are a few restaurants across the road. It's circa 15 min walk to La Gare.
Guest experience starts from initial contact with a true gentleman and foremost unconditional professional, Philippe, the owner . His level of expectations transpires in this little stylish, coveted 12 rooms hotel sweetly decorated and putting a guest at ease and feeling cosy instantly. The level of attention is very high and the owner strives to please his guests and ensures the highest level of details that makes a stay truly enjoyable. The room was big, very nicely decorated and offering all amenities once can hope. A true gem in front of the arenas of Nimes . Not to be missed !
Our experiences with this little hotel were as following: Positives: + very friendly staff (in general) + nice appointed room with terrace (room 101) + great location, between the railway station and the nice city center but still quiet at night + free wi-fi + good price/ratio + pretty clean in general Negatives: - small bathroom (typical french I guess) - hair dryer not working properly is it seems to be broken a bit (room 101) - unpleasant smell in the room (coming from the shower drain I suppose) Thank you for arranging the taxi service for us from and to the airport!
This is a beautiful property, well situated and beautifully decorated and we had a room - really a suite! - that exceeded our expectations. It was the kind of room that made me want to stay in all evening and pretend it was my home, not even needing to explore Nimes outside our four walls - a beautiful bedroom, sitting room and luxurious bath (but only a tub, no shower). HOWEVER, this first impression was soured by our overnight experience. We did not know we were situated with an adjoining wall to a loud bar until it was late in the evening - and impossible to sleep with the thumping of music coming through the wall. When morning came, my partner took a bath and everything was fine. I went to take mine - remember, no shower - and discovered the water was ice cold. Hotel maintenance came and said all the water heaters were working - he did not know what the problem was but he could not solve it. So after a crummy night of sleep in this beautiful place, and no ability to clean up the next day, we continued our trip and moved on to our next destination. Given the night club, lack of sleep and no ability to shower, we thought it was reasonable to ask for some sort of accommodation and asked for half of our room cost to be refunded. The girls at the front desk were apologetic and lovely, but clearly not empowered to take any real action. They promised to share our experience with the owner/manager who would make this decision. Weeks have passed, and we have received no word from her and have to assume we have come and gone and she doesn’t care. Maybe she will care now that I have posted this review.

DDinFranceI suppose the overriding positive is the location i.e. centre-ville and right near the 'arene'. It's probably the shortest distance ever I have had to walk after a gig to get to bed. Wonderful. Parking underneath (by a separate parking business - but get a discounted rate at the hotel). It was a bit odd that we were given an 'accessible-needs' room. Not sure why. I mean fine, but everything was a bit low and a curtain-type shower. A handle had been repaired on a sliding door but had not been done very well and left in a poor state. Clearly, small stuff but just seemed a bit odd (again). Breakfast was fine. Again, continuing the 'odd' theme, it seemed to be in a different and smaller room. Not sure why. ....but location can not be beaten.
Merci.
FflandersaThis is a fabulous 17th century property in the center of Nimes. All the major attractions, such as the amphitheater, are within walking distance. The optional breakfast downstairs in the dining room is very nice in buffet style. The rooms are nice and well equipped. As mentioned, there are some drawbacks to this hotel, notably: there is no on-site parking and so you have at least a 10 minute walk to the nearest large parking structure that is reasonable in cost but not free. Figure $30 overnight. Annoyingly, the hotel is in a one-way street and there are parking barriers lining the narrow street. As such, as you arrive, you have to unload your car while holding up traffic. Then you have to find the parking garage and walk back. Not a major deal, but certainly not simple. Last, as this is a 17th century building, there are quite a few steps to navigate, as other travelers have pointed out. There is an elevator, but it doesn’t mitigate all of the stairs, and certainly not the walking to and from the car. Again, not abnormal in an ancient city, but something to be aware of if you’re used to say Hilton or Hyatt parking lots in the states.
PPengguna TetamuWe reserved two nights at the Royal Hotel in Nimes, France. On the day we checked-in, they charged my credit card for the two nights lodging, but I was not made aware of this. When we checked out, we were given a receipt for the two nights lodging, plus parking fee and tax, which was charged to my credit card. It wasn't until I saw my credit card statement that I realized they double charged for the two nights lodging. I sent them a couple emails about the double charges, but never received a response. Fortunately, my credit card company refunded me the extra charges, and said they would deal with the hotel about the charges. I never heard more about it. The hotel is in a nice location for seeing the sights in Nimes, and the room was fine. Our room overlooked the outdoor restaurant in front of the hotel, but we did not have any noise issues at night. We did not eat there, because they did not offer gluten-free meals, but there were other restaurants in town that did. There is a public underground parking garage with an elevator that come up the street next to the hotel. Over-all, a good stay except for the double charges on the credit card.
SsybbiesontheroadI was surprised to find out that there are no staff stationed at the hotel past 8pm, despite my check-in voucher stating that the latest check-in time is 11pm. I do not like the experience as I arrived Nimes after a nearly 3-hour train delay and I was expecting that I could get into my room without much of a hassle. However, there was no staff at all when I entered the reception hall. I was shocked and luckily with the help of other residents I was able to call the staff and they advised how I could collect my key. I was lucky but it is possible that other customers in similar situations may not be so lucky.
We chose The Zenitude Hotel at Nimes because it was close to the Historic Centre so we could easily walk to the historic attractions. The room we booked had a kitchen area so we could make meals for ourselves should we want to. We stayed here for 2 nights 13th and 14th October 2022. We would not recommend anyone to stay here or in this area of Nimes. The hotel is conveniently situated near the historic centre which is easy walking distance. It's also close to the railway station and bus station. Our room was robbed, the door was not forced. Our laptop, Kindle and Tablet was stolen. Also other personal items were taken. Three rooms had things stolen. We have been told that a nearby hotel also had rooms broken into and guests possessions stolen. I would NEVER stay in this area of Nimes again. We spent 3 hours at the local police station reporting the crime. We do have a crime report from the police.
