Countryside is gorgeous, amenities enjoyable with children, swimming pool, helpful hotel staff and will come again soonest

Set in lovely grounds this imposing building is full of history but like some many hotels of this age needs a big face lift. The only modernised area I came across was the toilets just off reception. The Main bar area with leather bound (not certain if faux?) and chesterfields is a lovely place in which to sit and relax with a drink. Looking up there is a balcony which is walked along to reach the bedrooms thereby offered a different perspective when looking down. I booked a king room with breakfast and asked if could have a nice view, and was told there were only a couple of rooms with poor views anyway so I need not worry?! Well the room we had number 14 had four small windows looking out on to the rear of the hotel. And the view included a heavily wooded area of wheelie bins - so much for the view; in hindsight we should have asked for another room. The first morning the breakfast was a 'help yourself' and all of the food was just warm - not hot. The coffee poured from a jug was also only warm. However on the second morning my full english was cooked to order and very tasty, but again the coffee was only warm. This was remedied when I asked a waitress if she would change it. The room was spacious though and the bed comfy, shower adequate and tea and coffee facilities acceptable. Staff were helpful and generally cheerful. Lastly it is no longer run by Best Western. A very interesting place to stay if visiting Nottingham and not too far to drive in to the town.

What a great stay! The room was super cozy and love that the toilet's floor is heated as well. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city 😁

A reasonably pleasant stay at this hotel with no problems in my 2 night stay other than a noisy person staying next door but that is no fault of the hotel. It is conveniently located right near the centre of Nottingham. Lots of scaffolding outside at time of visit but no noise during the night and no noise from people outside, though it was mid week and the room facing away from the street

Ideal location for me to walk into town for shopping and eating out. Staff were excellent from reception to house keeping. Room service meals were good too Was a little disappointed as the bath was in need of replacing. The surface had peeled away and whilst it was ok for the shower, you wouldn't want to soak in it.

Hotel location is very convenient, being within 10min walking distance of Nottingham station. The room was spacious and clean. The staff had missed out on the hairdryer but delivered it up promptly once we had informed them. Note that the keycards don't work very well. We left a keycard in the room and brought the other card out but found that the room couldn't be opened... This seems to be common as there was another lady at the concierge facing the same problem. The room cleaning was... Interesting, if you could call cleaning in a way which makes you question if anything had been cleaned cleaning. Sadly the hotel did not provide room slippers. There was free orange juice and water at the lobby though.

I decided not to stop at a hotel for my latest 2 trips to Trent Bridge to watch cricket and instead, following research, I chose to stay with West One Studios. The accommodation is ideally placed just 2 minutes from the ground and no more than 5 minutes from the West Bridgford Town centre. The booking process was very slick and the team at West One were quick to respond to any questions that I had. With the additional benefit of a designated parking space behind the property (vital in an area where there is little on street parking), the two apartments that I stayed at were excellent with plenty of space, good comfortable beds a seating area with desk to allow me to do some work, a really well equipped kitchen with full oven, microwave and fridge and a good bathroom. I have already booked for 2 more 3 night visits in May 2024 and I would strongly recommend this property to anyone staying in the area.
