Having read reviews of the Teardrop properties we chose to spend Christmas as a family at Goatfell. We had extremely high expectations and were still blown away! From Christmas Eve canapés around the fire pit to the most delicious hoppers on Christmas morning (they were the best on our whole trip). A tea infused dinner on Christmas Day, hikes, bikes, beauty and escapism, Goatfell offers the most spoiling, relaxing retreat. Thank you to all the team, Deva and all the others who made our Christmas so special, and thank you to the chefs for some of the best food. If you are thinking of booking - do it now. Simply amazing—I truly can't find the words to fully describe how we felt during our stay at Goatfell. The best way I can express it is this: we felt like newborn babies, lovingly cared for by parents. Your team was more than just staff; they felt like our guardians, ensuring our comfort and happiness every moment of the day. From the moment we woke up until we went to sleep, the Goatfell team was there, attentively taking care of our every need. As a hotelier myself, I strive to secure the best experiences for my friends and family when I travel and can be quite particular. Yet, Goatfell exceeded every expectation and left no stone unturned. It was simply the best experience I’ve had. Every single team member deserves commendation for their dedication and warmth. Thank you once again for making our stay unforgettable.

Our favourite hotel in Sri Lanka! My family and I had 2 nights staying at this beautiful relaxing haven, albeit the road to get there is certainly not for the faint hearted but worth it on arrival. The staff are so attentive and kind; the food delicious. Thank you Team Goatfell x

Down a long drive, not for the faint hearted, we arrived at Goatfell, a true home from home style hotel, with only 4 guest rooms. Our room was beautiful and included a lovely cot for our 9 month daughter. The location is quite remote so we spent the 2 days walking and relaxing in the grounds, rather than driving reasonable distances to local activities. The food was incredible and offered a great selection of local delicacies as well as international dishes. We love the fact that lots of the vegetables and herbs were grown in their gardens. The staff were all wonderful, welcoming and very happy to help with any request… including washing numerous bottles for our daughter. We would certainly recommend Goatfell to anyone wanting a relaxing break surrounded by beautiful scenery.

What an incredible experience. From the moment you arrive, you are enveloped in the most beautiful, serene surroundings. The inside of the bungalow is calm and comfortable with a roaring log fire, comfy blankets, and an array of delicious food and drinks. Outside changes all the time, sitting on the veranda watching the clouds move over the mountains can pass the hours away. It is a very special place, the staff, Deva, Askar, and Chef Pradeep are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. I can't wait to come back, two nights was not enough. I travelled here with my 17 year old daughter and 11 year old.son, both enjoyed it as much as I did.

Simply delightful. A calm and rejuvenating colonial property. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was some of the best we have experienced in the island. Lovely little touches such as open fires and hot water bottles for the cooler evenings .

Without doubt the finest of all the hotels we stayed in in Sri Lanka on our recent trip. Whilst it is located outside Nuwara Eliya and down a long track it is so worth it to stay here. What a place! Four fabulous rooms and personal attention and service throughout. The staff here go to amazing lengths to do everything they can to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Rooms are well equipped and we even had hot water bottles in our beds as the nights were cool. Food is superb and plentiful with excellent choices. Pre dinner drinks are taken in front of a roaring fire. There is a small infinity pool overlooking the valley below. Asker and his team go to great lengths to accommodate you and Asker really helped us out when our departure was delayed on our leaving day. We were so reluctant to leave this small, quiet paradise and move on. Can only highly recommend and extend our thanks to the whole team at Goat Fell.

Earlier this month, we returned to Goatfell to spend five nights in the Sri Lankan Hill Country. We had spent a memorable few days there last year, and we are pleased to report that it is still just as good. Happily, we arrived at the start of a period of dry sunny weather, but at 1900 metres, it is cold at night and often misty. However, Goatfell is a warm establishment in terms of temperature and atmosphere, and we enjoyed several evenings in front of the log fire chatting to other guests over an after-dinner drink. Again, the food was of the highest quality, and the chef was always happy to prepare dishes not on the menu - we had a particularly memorable dish of devilled chicken. All the staff provide an exceptional level of service with attention to detail. The area is great for hiking through tea plantations; the final leg of the Pekoe train from Kandapola in the valley below to just outside Nuwara Eliya was particularly enjoyable. Thanks again to all the staff, especially Askar, Deva, Yoga and Indika, for making this such a special place to visit.
