Goatfell

Goatfell is incredible - such a beautiful and tranquil place that my husband and I absolutely loved. The staff, the management, the food, and the property are all 10/10. It’s somewhere you can go and completely disconnect and enjoy the amazing surrounds, walks/hikes and nature. You’re literally up in the clouds on a beautiful tea estate in a gorgeous English style country house. We stayed at 7 teardrop properties over 2 weeks and while I can’t pick a favourite as the properties are all jaw-droppingly beautiful, this was my husbands favourite! A great place to unwind and enjoy getting spoilt by the team. You must go!

Charming tea planters bungalow set atop a hill with stunning views across the tea country. Amazing service in a beautiful, tranquil setting, Fabulous food. A cracking fire on cool evenings. A wonderful place to unwind and take in the views. Beautiful sunrises over the pool. The highlight of our trip.

what an experience! what a property! we celebrated our wedding here, and it was a truly exceptional experience. the staff went out of their way to facilitate every requirement for the ceremony, and were indeed a part of it. food and ambience was heavenly.

My Family and I stayed in Goatfell for 4 nights. While the weather was not perfect with overcast skies and howling winds, we found our sanctuary in the house. We enjoyed the cool weather coupled with the endless hospitality of the team at Goatfell. We loved all of ours meals, the chef and team even prepared special items that were not on the menu. Each one of the members of the team at Goatfell was excellent and made sure our every need was attended to as best as they could. When the wifi was down, they lent us an additional router to use so that we could answer all of our emails. Our stay at Goatfell felt like a home away from home. We would definitely come back here and recommend that others visit as well!

We just returned , after spending a wonderful long weekend at Goatfell. Despite the adverse weather; which was heavy winds and rain almost the entire trip- Goatfell still didn’t fail us. . The location is an old estate bungalow converted into a cozy and more than comfortable 4 room. The staff was Azgar and the team who made it their mission to make sure everything was upto snuff specially since we couldn’t step out much due to the weather. We caught a bit of sun during the stay and we got to trek downhill to the tea plantation. They also have some great hike trails. The view is just magnificent, the chef did a marvelous job with the amazing food . The butler went out of his way to ensure that the food was to our satisfaction ; always with the smile on his face. The pool isn’t heated as its outdoor; but the view from near the pool deck is just stunning

Reflecting on over three weeks touring Sri Lanka and staying at luxury boutique properties throughout, this was the best overall from a very good bunch. Intimate, set in a beautiful cool tea plantation with outstanding food and service during our three day stay. Fully inclusive including laundry which was helpful mid trip with lovely touches such as open fire on the evening.

Simply delightful. A calm and rejuvenating colonial property. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was some of the best we have experienced in the island. Lovely little touches such as open fires and hot water bottles for the cooler evenings .

This is a special place. The stunning views over the tea plantation and infinity pool to the mountains were worth the journey up the hill to get there, even without everything else! Fantastic food, service, decor and facilities. They truly seem to have thought of everything - they leant us walking poles and a phone with a trail map on it so we could explore the plantation. The fire in the lounge in the evening and the hot water bottles just added to the cosy atmosphere and the Negronis were excellent. The staff were so helpful but never intrusive. This is almost certainly the best hotel we've ever stayed in and I wish we'd been there longer. It must look even more incredible when the agapanthus are in flower.
