Casa de Don Pablo Hostel

My friend and I booked this place for Oaxaca a good 5-6 weeks in advance. We were boarding our flight, at 1pm the day of arrival and I got a message from the hotel saying "please cancel, we cannot host you". They cancelled our reservation with less than 1 hour until check in. They offered no support or assistance. Eventually after I insisted the manager offered to find us an alternative. Told us to go to the hostel upon arrival and they would assist. We did. Except the manager was nowhere to be found. Their staff member ignored us and told us that they couldn't give us a room because of a group booking (excuse me??!). We waited and tried to engage with the staff on site and the manager. They did not provide us with an replacement. They said they would try but we're "very busy" - 4-5 hours after cancelling on us they hadn't even tried to find a replacement. We gave up and left. It was such a mess that booking actually refunded the difference between the last minute replacement and the original reservation. Avoid this place. A survey of their reviews shows this isn't an unusual practice for them. What's the point of a reservation that might be pulled out from under you?

Ci siamo trovati benissimo in questo hostel, camere graziose e pulite con bagno interno ed esterno, terrazza panoramica, patio interno. Colazione su richiesta. Staff veramente gentile e disponibile. Location ottima nei pressi del centro citta'. Veramente ok!

todo ha sido terrible, desde la llegada hasta la salida, no se podía pagar con tarjeta, cosa que nunca me ha pasado antes en Mexico, piden también de dejar un deposito de 100 pesos, la habitación doble con aseo privado que he reservado era de verdad terrible. No tenia ventana, tenia una puerta ventana que daba al pasillo y a pesar de la cortina la gente de fuera podía mirar dentro la habitación, así que privacidad cero. En la otra parte de la habitación había una ventana que no se podía abrir que daba a la recepción, entraba luz y se escuchaba todo. A mi me gusta dormir con oscuridad y en esta habitación entra mucha luz, incluso en el medio de la noche. El baño daba asco sinceramente y olia mal. Toallas viejísimas y en malas condiciones. Después las 20 cuando se regresa en el hotel hay da tocar el timbre y esperar que vengan a abrirte, esta cosa molesta mucho porque se escuchan todas las personas que entran, entraron a las 2am un Guest y me despertó. Después escuché claramente el recepcionista roncar en la reception. El desayuno es algo ridiculo, 1 huevo roto con 2 piezas de pan bimbo y 3 piezas de sandia. La cosa curiosa que a pesar que la cocinera me viò sentado esperando el desayuno no lo preparò, tuve que levantarme y ir a pedirlo dentro la cocina. Cuando estaba listo la cocinera me llamo en lugar de llevármelo (5 metros de distancia) y volvío a mirar su movil. Ganas de trabajar menos cero! DE VERDAD HA SIDO TERRIBLE DORMIR ALLì, la noche siguiente me fui en otro hotel, mas barato y MUCHISSIMO MEJOR!!!
