Hotel berhampiran Juwelier Bross, Oberhausen

We stayed at residents for one night only and we were pleasantly surprise with the spacious and modern family room we were upgraded to for no extra cost. The reception staff was helpful and friendly with no delays when we were checking in and out. The hotel has also a games room with table tennis, pool table, table football and toys for smaller kids. Optional breakfast for €4 pp was a bargain. We came by car and there is free unsecured parking next to a swimming pool 50m from the hotel. Note that the hotel is in a low emission zone so even foreign cars need a green sticker to avoid penalty. We purchased this for €6 in a Dekra Aschaffenburg as that was on our way and it took 5 minutes with no hassle but you need you V5 or equivalent.

We had to book 2 rooms for our family of 5 when booking online, but when I checked in I was told we had family rooms which would have accommodated the 5 of us (baby sleeps in our bed). But they wouldn’t let me cancel the second room, so we basically paid double. They also don’t have interconnected rooms, so we were placed 16 rooms apart. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were spacious. We stayed for a night during the 40 degree heatwave so we really appreciated the AC in the rooms and going to the small indoor pool to cool down. Breakfast had a good selection of food and lots of fruit.

Diese Intercity Hotel hat mir im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels der Marke gut gefallen. Service war freundlich und die Ausstattung gut bzw. dem Preis angemessen.

Ich bin eine gebürtige Essenerin und kenne deshalb das Hotel schon ewig. Die Lage ist zentral, gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof und mitten in der Stadt. Die Zimmer sind je nach Kategorie geräumig. Ich finde es toll, das man die Fenster öffnen kann. Auch die Betten sind bequem. Frühstück gegen Aufpreis, dort gibt es allerdings Verbesserungspotential. Trotzdem 100% Empfehlung

The hotel is just a few minutes from the Philharmonie U-Bahn station or just a 15 minute walk from the main station and hence very nicely located. The staff are very professional and gave me a good welcome. The room was very well-kept and for the price, a good size. Excellent WiFi coverage at good connectivity speeds. Overall, a very nice stay in a very nice hotel.

Had a great stay in Moxy Essen from 11/06/2023 – 14/06/2023. I was travelling around the Rhine Ruhr region with my friend (and we both have Marriott Gold elite status from staying in a Marriott for university). This hotel was in a great location right next to the HBF station in Essen and was clean and modern. The bar had a good vibe and we had free drinks on arrival. We used points for this stay, and the way that the points worked out meant that we had 2 different bookings over 3 nights, but this was not an issue and we managed to get the same room for the duration of our stay (we even got a bonus welcome drink for it)! I’m probably not going to do the hotel justice here, but it was a well laid out and stylish hotel with decent sized rooms. We had a twin room to share and the staff made extra effort so that we were on the quieter side of the building. We initially checked into the hotel at approximately 2pm, but decided to spend the afternoon in Wuppertal. When we arrived back on the first night. I had a shower, and there was no shampoo. No big deal, but I ended up going down to reception to ask for some. The man couldn’t find any shampoo, but about half an hour later, some appeared, I think he probably brought I from the shop as it wasn’t in the normal bright pink Moxy bottle, but it was really nice of him to make the effort. That day, the weather hit 32 degrees and whilst we were waiting for the shampoo, we tried to work out how the air conditioning worked. Between me and my friend that I was travelling with, we couldn’t work it out, so we asked the employee. However, between the 3 of us and Google we could not work it out. Anyway, I think we were the only people in the hotel that night as this was approximately midnight local time, and I think we went in every room in the corridor. To try and find one with working air con. All of them were empty! We eventually found one that wasn’t like a sauna and packed our stuff and moved. The employee was genuinely the nicest and most helpful employee I think I have ever seen in a hotel, very apologetic, but also very sociable. It was really nice to meet him as he was so happy to help. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name, but he had a ponytail I think and said he was Turkish. I think he will know who we are when he reads this! I saw him off duty in the bar the next night and thanked him. We even got 2 free breakfasts out of this!! The breakfast was good, though probably not worth the price we were told when we booked (I think it was about 15 euros but can’t remember as I have stayed in about 5 hotels in the past week and they have all rolled into one a bit). There was a few cooked items (Bacon & Scrambled Egg) and a few cold/ cereal items, but not loads. I probably wouldn’t recommend getting breakfast as all the Moxys allow a free coffee/ juice in the morning and a pastry, which is a nice touch. Eine neue, gute Adresse. Die Gegebenheiten sind von solider, gehobener Qualität, der Stil des Hotels entspricht heutigem Standard. Bemerkenswert gut funktionieren die Lifts, bemerkenswert zugewandt ist die gesamte Rezeption. Die Preise sind fair, bei sorgfältiger Wahl auch günstig. Nicht ganz so günstig erscheint die Anordnung der Frühstücksräume. Ein großer Vorzug ist es dagegen, dass es im Haus einen Durchgang zu einem Fitness-Studio und einer Bar gibt, wo man auch spätabends und nachts noch Getränke findet, und obendrein auch den einen oder anderen Bissen. Uns als Paar hat der 4-tägige Aufenthalt in Wellings ”Linde“ sehr gut gefallen. Der Vorabkontakt mit Frau Baumanns war außergewöhnlich freundlich und kompetent. Das gesamte Anwesen ist von sehr viel Geschmack geprägt. Die alten Gebäude verspielt romantisch, der neuere Teil klar und modern. Alles außerordentlich wertig. Unser Kreativ-Zimmer lag im 1.Stock mit Nachmittagssonne auf dem Balkon und viel „Grün“ im Blick. Wir fanden einen wunderschönen ruhigen Sauna-und Wellnessbereich im KG sowie einen recht kleinen Sportraum vor. In 2 Minuten ist man fussläufig im angrenzenden weitläufigen Jungbornpark welcher sich romantisch, beidseits des Mörsbachs erstreckt und zu schönen Spaziergängen einlädt. In unserem Arrangement war neben dem täglichen, sehr leckeren Frühstück, welches in den kuschligen ”alten Stuben” oder im sonnenbeschienenen Innenhof eingenommen werden konnte, 1x ein abendliches 6-Gang-Menü enthalten. Schöne Stunden in stilvollem Ambiente mit sehr freundlichen, jungen Servicekräften Leckere, für uns mengenmäßig zu üppige Speisenfolge ( empfinden andere Gäste evtl. anders 😉). Sehr schön für‘s Auge angerichtet, geschmacklich war nicht jeder Gang für uns (!) ein Highlight. Insgesamt möchten wir uns beim gesamten Team für die Hilfe zu einer wunderbar entspannenden Auszeit bedanken. Dafür werden wir sicher noch einmal die 250km Anreise auf uns nehmen.
