De kamer was schoon en verder mooi, helaas zijn de bedden erg, erg zacht, wat minder geschikt is voor iemand die liever wat harder ligt. De badkamer was klein en een beetje krap, maar wel erg schoon. Onze kamer had slechts een heel klein raam, maar de airconditioning was daarentegen erg goed. Noemenswaardig is de echt grote televisie in onze kamer en de sterke wifi. Het hotel heeft een geweldige verkeersverbinding, direct gelegen bij een afrit en een beveiligde parkeerplaats. Het ontbijt was zeer goed en uitgebreid. We recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, Leiden, booking double family connecting rooms for our family of five, including two young children (ages 5 and 6) and an infant. While the hotel had some positive aspects, several significant issues overshadowed our stay. **Pros:** The rooms themselves were lovely and spacious, which was perfect for a family needing extra space. The blackout blinds were a particularly nice touch, helping our kids sleep better, especially with the long summer daylight hours. **Cons:** Unfortunately, the cons began to outweigh the positives shortly after our arrival. The connecting room doors, which were supposed to be convenient for keeping our family together, would not stay open on their own. This posed a serious safety concern, as it meant our two youngest children would be isolated in a separate room. When we brought this to the attention of the receptionist, we were met with rudeness and a lack of understanding. The hotel’s solution was to provide us with two door stoppers, but they were ineffective, causing us to constantly chase after our kids to ensure they didn’t accidentally get trapped in a room. Cleanliness was another major issue. The floors were filthy, and the bathroom had visible mold above the showers on the tiles, which was both unpleasant and unhygienic. To top it off, a cleaner entered our rooms without notice or knocking at 6:30 PM. Although it may seem early, our kids were already in bed, and the baby was asleep. This disruption was incredibly frustrating and showed a lack of respect for our privacy and schedule. **Overall:** While the Hilton Garden Inn, Leiden offers spacious rooms and good blackout blinds, the negatives far outweighed these perks for our family. The poorly maintained facilities, lack of customer service, and safety concerns with the connecting doors made this stay disappointing. We expected a more family-friendly environment, and unfortunately, that was not our experience.

They specifically lied about the price of the bathrobe and slippers. The employee at the reception, a blonde Dutch guy told me that it would be 11,50 for one person. I couldn't pay right there and then because he said I would have to pay at checkout. They do this so that when you get there the next day to check out they can drop a price of 60 for 2 people when they originally said it was 11,50 per person. They charge an astonishing fee for the rental of the bathrobe and slippers who the employee told me was free. He was on duty at 22nd of February around 3-4 when we checked in. Also they were rude and unhelpful with accommodations and service. We are not a difficult couple but the service we got was below par. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone purely because of the very poor staff. -1 star

Located just a 3 minute walk from the Leiden Central Train Station, Golden Tulip Leiden Centre Hotel is the best choice for staying in a very clean and relaxed environment with very polite and helpful personnel at the reception desk. Definitely, I will stay again there next time I visit Leiden and I will recommend it to my friends and colleagues.

We have just stayed for three nights and were very impressed with this hotel . The location is perfect , minutes from the station and the bars , shops and restaurants in the city centre are literally just around the corner. The hotel itself is clean , comfortable and well presented . The rooms are clean and spacious . The breakfast was great and there was always plenty available. The staff were excellent. Check in and out was simple and the reception staff were really helpful ( my daughter had an ear infection when we arrived , and the young lady on reception helped us get a doctors appointment, and made a point of asking us how she was each day ) . The bar and restaurant staff were also very professional and attentive. This hotel was perfect for our family break and the staff should be commended on their excellent service . Thank you .

The hotel is under 5 minutes walk from Central Station, and just on the edge of the main old town. Google maps is not very clever at the walking directions, and sent us a rout which took 20 minutes walking and ended up leading us to the entrance from the car park. We heard that this is a common complaint from guests arriving by foot. The hotel location is pretty handy for visiting many of the tourist spots in Leiden with probably a 20 minute walk to the Rijks Museum and / or Botanical Gardens about the biggest duration to get anywhere. The hotel is one of those with a ”host” instead of a checkin / checkout desk. You are supposed to do both yourself on an adjacent screen, although in practice the ”host” did the task for us and for almost everyone else we noticed checking in. There is no breakfast provided, but instead a reasonably large selection of snack and breakfast items plus other things you might want to buy at a hotel is available. You have to pay for these things via a scanner and card payment machine - there are no staff present. This all worked quite well for us, and proved a lot cheaper than typical hotel breakfast, but might not suit everyone. The actual room was large, but dark as can be! Walls were painted a gloomy colour which sucked all the light out of the room. Even in daylight it seemed dark, and at night it certainly was dark! The wash basin was in the same physical space as the bed, while there was a separate door for a toilet and another (glass) door for a shower. Due to the very low level of lighting, it was a big struggle to see myself in the mirror for shaving. Our room looked out onto a car park and was nice and quiet. Rooms on the main street might not be.

Een heel mooi, nieuw hotel. Heel erg schoon. Bedden waren heerlijk. Prima badkamer voorzien van fohn, handzeep, doucheschuim en shampoo. Fijne regendouche die op goede hoogte hangt zodat ook lange mensen er goed onder kunnen staan. De douchewand naar de kamer is gemaakt van melkglas maar daar hangt een gordijn voor dus geen inkijk. Wel airco, maar niet zelf te regelen. Koffie- en thee faciliteiten. Geen koelkast, wat met het warme weer wel lekker geweest was maar aan de bar en in een automaat beneden in de hal zijn koude drankjes beschikbaar. Het hotel ligt heel centraal, heel dicht bij het station en dichtbij een hele grote parkeergarage. Het centrum is op loopafstand en in de buurt zijn heel veel restaurantjes, winkeltjes, barretjes en museums. De tijden om te ontbijten zijn heel erg ruim en het assortiment is ruim voldoende. Je hebt tot 12 uur de tijd om uit te checken, wat erg prettig is.

Great location near the central station of the beautiful city of Leiden. The hotel itself is well into the world-known standards of the Ibis brand; as always, an Ibis hotel is a safe bet for a comfortable night with reasonable prices. Extra points for all of the helpful and sympathetic people at the check-in counter! (The picture I added is actually the windows' view from my room, which was quite pleasant - even more so with the daylight in the morning)

The hotel is located very close to the bus and train station and easy to find . The room was quiet, clean comfortable and I felt very safe on my own. The bathroom was clean and large with all amenities. There is no staff in the evenings but you can borrow plates, cutlery, wine glasses , bottle openers etc from the breakfast room . The room also has a small fridge and a kettle and there is an elevator.The bed was extremely comfortable and there is access to Netflix and Prime on the TV. There are lots of restaurants, cafes and supermarkets close by. I used Leiden as a base for visiting Lisse, Delft, Rotterdam, The Hague, Hillegom and Keukenhof.
