What a wonderful hotel! On the beach, nice and small, rooms spacious with plenty of storage and good balcony size, housekeeping every day apart from the hurricane day!stayed with my husband and 16 year old.Staff were just amazing, very friendly, Lea on reception always had a smile and happy to help. Restaurant staff, Lynette, Deborah were just wonderful, very friendly and pleasant. Entertainment at night was ok, we had a half board meal plan, the food was just out of this world, plenty on your plate!Short walk to Oistins, would recommend using the white vans though on a hot day. Transport around the island is great! Public bus will take you to Speightstown for 3.50 bbds. We hired a car and went around the island, breathtaking scenery on some beaches. The hotel staff looked after us so well during hurricane Beryl, made sure we were fed and watered, cannot fault their care and attention to their guests during this. Would highly recommend this hotel and of course Barbados, been to a few Caribbean islands but this one just tops them all! Will most definitely be returning in the future.

A really nice hotel. The staff are all very polite and courteous and the accommodation is very good. They cannot do enough for you when at the beach, if they see you have no shade they bring out an umbrella. They often bring around cold face clothes to cool you down and sometimes even a tray of Jell-O shots. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. The on site restaurant is very good. They go above and beyond to address any concerns raised. Had an issue with something and they did everything they could to address the situation and contacted us personally to apologize, really appreciate the response from customer services. Thing’s have definitely improved. A sign of a good hotel is when they listen to their guests and try to help. Thank you. The hotel is a little isolated with not many restaurants around and it is better to rent a car for a few days or use public transport but it’s a beautiful location on a wonderful beach. St Lawrence Gap and Oistins are about 15 - 20 minute walk away if you want to visit bars, other restaurants and join in the Friday night Fish Fry at Oistins. Also just a short walk to the main road where you can catch a bus and there are taxis at the hotel of you need one. Overall it’s a great place to stay. Would definitely visit again.

AVOID AVOID AVOID Positives - Great location; close to Oistins and Saint Lawrence Gap Negatives - Staff are incompetent and lazy. We stayed for 3 days and house keeping didn't change the bedding, remove dirty/replace glasses in room, have to beg for fresh towels, don't clean the bathroom. Staff also have constant attitude and sour faces when asked anything. Hostile environment. Roll eyes and kiss their teeth. - The hotel is tired, dirty and run down. The restaurant area isn't even fit to be called a restaurant. The breakfast is basic at best and staff don't efficiently clear away or clean tables. Toaster at breakfast broke and the waitress just walked off. Not interested in helping. The 'bar' is more of a shack, that has leaking fridges and towels on the floor. Not clean or hygienic. Whether you're going to get a adequate quality drink is hit & miss depending on who is serving. I don't think they are bartenders, more like kids. - --Another hotel guest at breakfast told us had asked her holiday provider to move her to a different hotel as she had seen mice. - The poolside isn't fit to be called a poolside. The area looks tired and jaded. Sun loungers are broken/mouldy, grass not mown, so you get bit sitting out there. Better off going to the beach. - We were asked to leave the hotel on day 3 out of 7 for leaving an honest review of the hotel. Staff are bullies and shouldn't work in a customer facing role. Hotel thought they were spiting us, but it worked in our favour as we went to a beautiful 5* hotel. - This establishment is hostel and not a hotel as the amenities are basic and the type of clientele in there. - Wifi only works in the lobby If you're looking for a good quality hotel, do not stay at this dump. It needs closing down and the staff going along with it as their sole intention is to provide a miserable, dreary time.

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit trepidatious about my choice of hotel for my stay in Barbados. I needn't have worried. The hotel was perfect for our stay. I have absolutely no complaints at all. Everything was spotless and anything we need extra from housekeeping was not a problem. The pool area was very clean with towels readily available everyday, even when we didn't go to the pool until late afternoon. The hotel is ideally situated across from the beach so we could go back and forward throughout the day. We never used Amigos for food so I can't comment on that except to say that being scottish, the bartender was happy to put the football on the tv early in the morning for us. We had a deluxe room which was above reception and the balcony looked onto the road. We heard some music the 1st night but we were oblivious to it after then. On my experience, I would happily recommend the hotel to anyone looking to saty in St. Lawrence on a budget.

The hotel is located on st Lawrence gap which has a few clubs and restaurants. It can get quite noisy at night. If you opt for the sea view apartment you are less likely to hear the club on the opposite side of the road. The room itself is great, there is a kitchen where you can cook your breakfast and make tea, a working tap, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave. The balcony and the view is lovely. Woke up each morning looking out onto the blue water and blue skies! I went with my friend and so we had a double bed each which is very comfortable. The shower is a bit slow with water but if you run it for 3-4 minutes the water will get warm. We didn’t opt for the breakfast so cannot comment on what the food is like. Overall positive, my only complaint is beware when ordering taxi they quote in US dollars and not Barbadian dollars. The female receptionist misled me despite me asking her twice is the price quoted Barbadian dollar and she said yes. Then when we finished the taxi ride we were told it was in US dollar and not Barbadian dollars. I think that is a fundamental error by the receptionist and cost me unnecessarily. For that the hotel did not deserve a 5 star. In terms of location it is good but expect noise as you are directly opposite a nightclub called halo that is very noisy at the weekends especially the dj and his microphone shouting into it. The island is very small so everything is not far. It is worth hiring a car to get around the island otherwise the taxi fare will be expensive. A taxi fare from at Lawrence gap to the north of the island would cost you 120 Barbadian dollars one way. The hotel has a nice outdoor swimming pool and private chill out area and a restaurant to order drinks. Would I stay here again? Yes I think i would stay here again.

Writing this on the way to the airport after a wonderful 10 night stay at Barbados Beach Club with our young son and baby boy. We read all the extreme reviews on here and were really worried about the hotel before arriving. We lowered our expectations and were expecting a really bad place that we would have to grin and bear. We were so happily surprised to arrive and find a really lovely and simple hotel on the most incredible beach. For context - we have stayed in a number of beautiful 5* star hotels around the world (Soho House, Claridges, Sofitel etc) so we have experienced wonderful places - and we were really happy at BBC. Our room was clean and well maintained, with a great balcony overlooking the turquoise ocean. We had a flat screen TV with lots of channels, and the beds were very comfortable. The AC was strong and it was great to have a fridge and a kettle. The hotel shares the beach with a number of 4/5* hotels - and it’s the best beach I’ve experienced in Barbados so far. The waves are strong but great fun for kids (as long as you keep a close eye on them) and for a strong workout. I really enjoyed my daily walks along the beach. We also really liked the food - lots of choice each day, and an emphasis on home cooking style dishes. Fresh juice at breakfast would have been nice, but probably not possible for a hotel of this range. The cocktails and drinks at the pool bar were great too, with the most wonderful ocean backdrop. The rum punch is powerful! Later on in the stay we got chatting to some older guests who were incredibly critical of the hotel, and we were perplexed. They had just arrived from a cruise and were annoyed that the hotel couldn’t match the 24/7 ice creams etc that they had on the cruise. They also complained about there being “too many birds”, which made us laugh a lot. I guess the beach is too sandy too? I can only assume that these are the type of people who are writing such negative reviews on here - people who love to moan about everything and drink heavily from 10am and talk to the staff like they’re servants. This is a budget hotel and from my perspective offered terrific value to spend almost 2 weeks at Christmastime on a stunning beach without having to take out a 2nd mortgage to pay for it! I do really think some Brits just love to find things to complain about… and then enjoy posting about it online. People moaning about the shower being cold… just leave it to run for a couple of minutes and the heat kicks in? You’re on a tropical island, not in a UK city centre. Things are a little slower and rustic here - just lean in to it and enjoy it. My son loved the nature - including the tortoises, hummingbirds, parrots and of course the crabs on the rocks. It’s truly a beautiful paradise. I was wary of the pool at first as I’d read a review on TripAdvisor that it was “filthy”. This hotel was exactly what we needed. From the beginning the service over the telephone was outstanding. Everyone was super helpful and kind over the phone. A special mention to Graham who arranged our taxi with Colin aka Taximan 246. Colin was right on time and took us safely to and from the airport. He was an amazing driver. We even hired him for other occasions. The staff in general was always wearing a smile and let me tell you CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. The rooms were spotless and bed was comfortable. We were right on the Gap which made moving around even easier. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that isn't looking for luxury but is just needing a very warm clean reasonably priced accommodation in Barbados and on the St Lawrence Gap.
