I would prefer to give this hotel zero stars. I have never stayed in a hotel that had SO MANY problems, and employees with zero mindsets of actually finding solutions, but let me start from the beginning. On Friday I had called to check the status of my reservation, and see if I could request an early check in. They told me I had to call on Saturday to see if in the early check-in was available. Fine. When I called on Saturday I was told that an early check-in would be $50. I've never once paid for an early check in! They're either able to accommodate you, or not, but I have NEVER been asked for money. After I hung up with them, I was feeling very annoyed and decided to talk to a manager about it. When I called back, I was informed that I was, in fact, speaking to the manager/GM and Early check in was now $20. At this point, I recognized it for the scam that it was, and realized that somebody was just lining their pockets with the money. I decided to forgo it all together because I wasn't sure how long it was going to take us to get our son set up in his dorm room anway. I had booked this hotel last week and only wanted to have a safe place for me to lay my head after I moved my son into UCF. I was not looking five-star resort. Never in a million years, that I think I would have one of the worst hotel stays of my life! I checked in at 3:30, dropped my bags, and went back to UCF to finish the work. I finally arrived at the hotel around 7:00 p.m. for the evening. It's a very obviously old hotel that they had slapped a coat of paint on to make it look better, but anyone with a brain could see that it's in poor condition. It reminded me of the old adage of lipstick on a pig. Almost immediately I realized my TV didn't work. When I tried to call the front desk from the hotel phone, that too, did not work. I called from my cell phone and they told me that they would put me in another room. I packed up my stuff and went to the front desk to get a new room key. The second room I couldn't even get the door to open (This is important, remember this). The light was flashing green as if it recognized the key card, but it would not budge. I went back to the front desk and got a third room. To I was annoyed at this point was a gross understatement. I got to my third room which had dirty sheets, and still no working phone or TV. The TV turned on but there was no sound. I reset the modem and everything and still nothing worked. When I called the front desk from my cell phone again, I was told there was no more a rooms and I would just have to deal with it. I was grateful I at least I brought a book. Around 11:30 I was feeling very thirsty, so I took a few dollars, and my room key and decided to try the vending machine. Not only did the vending machine not work, but the ice machine was also broken so I was unable to just fill my water bottle with ice and water.
