Hotel berhampiran Montaña Blanca, Orotava Valley

I am going to be completely honest as some reviews are dramatic. Rooms- there are a few blocks which some are old and new. We were in the old block on arrival with no air con and just a ceiling fan and not going to lie it wasn’t good. So straightaway we upgraded to the new block the next day but did cost us €150 for the suite room which was lovely no complaints. Check what u book before you get there as I was automatically allocated a room when u book. You can hire a air con machine for €80 Pool area - Lovely area but if you want a sunbed then forget it. People where putting them on the loungers midnight so if your planning an early wake up call for them you need to get up at midnight. It’s ridiculous we sat on the grass for the full week and by about 2pm people were leaving their loungers so we had them anyway. But area is lovely. In all fairness life guard will remove towels if your not there and someone is looking for one which i thought was great. Shop- was not overly expensive in the hotel. The snack bar was reasonably price, toasty and chips €4. Entertainment- not for me same 3 people I think all week and nothing for kids entertainment or kids clubs. Men vocalists is all we saw when we left hotel. Restaurants- some lovely restaurants outside the Italian Napolia I think it was called stunning pizza and the price unbelievable 3 huge pizza and 6 drinks €33 not a lie. Aqua viva does lovely food and the Mexican was lush, Over all for a week holiday self catering we really enjoyed it and I think was reasonably priced for families.

The hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms are spacious with a separate bedroom. Kitchen has few utensils and pans and kettles so basic foods can be cooked. Balconies have two chairs and a table. Be aware that the balcony floor is very slippery when wet. Building D next to the road can be a bit noisy at times, trash truck beeping early in the morning etc. Hotel has a minimarket with mostly sandwiches, chocolate bars, beer and wine. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, lots of fruit, bread and cereal but not much meat. Same goes with the dinner. Don't trust Google maps, there's no easy route to Puerto de la Cruz centrum. The area surrounding the hotel is steep hills to every direction. Sidewalks are narrow if they exist at all. Nearest grocery stores are closer to 10 minute walk away. Few restaurants are nearby. There is one hotel next to this one but otherwise the neighbourhood is fully inhabited by locals. We enjoyed our stay a lot though we found out that the only viable way to travel between the hotel and Puerto de la Cruz was taxi.

Awesome views from spacious clean apartment.arrived New Year’s Eve.evening meal was amazing .table beautifully set with hat,mask,garland etc to make the night special.bottle of red wine and bottle of water on table for us.Extremely hard working friendly staff.each evening after a quarter carafe of wine each was brilliant.quiet area but close to small town with public transport.hotel provides transport into Puerto de la Cruz each day too.Only let down was food not being very hot.we would stay there again definitely

If you're a wheelchair user, please make sure to let the hotel know with plenty of notice. I use a wheelchair that doesn't fold and I couldn't get into my room without taking the wheels off as there's a wardrobe immediately as you enter the room. Fortunately, I am able to walk and only use my chair for longer distances.l, but for others, this could be a real issue. We stayed in that room for one night and they were happy enough to swap me into a different room in the morning. That first night was awful. There were concerning dips in the floor and the noise from being next to the ocean was so loud, plus the wind rattles the windows, it sounded like I was lost at sea. The receptionist was lovely and upgraded us to a family room, no issues, though I hope for the sake of others that there are double rooms available that are more accessible, not just family rooms. The family room was luckily on the other side, so it was totally silent. The breakfasts were quite stale and the milk for the cereal was warm so stuck with the crepes every morning. We did have dinner here one evening but unfortunately, when I got to the dessert stand, there was a cockroach crawling on the food. They were very apologetic and gave both of us a glass of wine as an apology, but then still had to pay full price on the meals. Fortunately, we did bring an extension cord as there weren't many sockets and not all of them even worked. There were no ceiling lights, just plug in lamps, which made it quite dim at night. The pool is barely heated but it takes a few seconds for your body to acclimatise. The mattress is quite firm and I found the pillows were far too high. Also beware that the hotel is on a VERY steep hill. Luckily, I can actually walk quite well in hot weather but I was definitely out of breath when I got from the bottom of the hill to the hotel. The WiFi is awful and I ended up just using my data. The zoo is well worth visiting though and it's a very short distance away. As you come into the hotel, it's got a huge lovely lobby which was lovely to sit in, so it really surprised me how poor everything else was. I have no ill intentions and the staff were lovely but I have to be honest.

We all loved this hotel and couldn't fault it,but I do think Jet2 should let you know that 50% of the ground floor suites are over looking the car park infact 101 to 106 are actually on the same level as the car park about 6 feet away from parked cars which is not ideal when you have a 2 year old in the room,we weren't given the option for a sea view.Our first night (arriving at 11.30pm)we realised we didn't have a cot in the room ,after I had actually emailed the hotel to request this,he then had to sleep on a mattress on the floor and ended up under a coffee table after rolling off,not a good start.We did get a cot the next day but couldn't change our room.This did put a dampner on the holiday ,but found everything else really good,a playground for kids would have been good.The entertainment team were really good ,boys loved the mini disco and kids club.Food was excellent as were all the staff.The hotel is up a hill which we knew about so we did use the shuttle bus to get out and about.
