When visiting Kyoto, we wanted to enjoy some time in an onsen resort so we decided to spend two nights in Ogoto Onsen. After checking the details in their website, we booked a ”Biwa no kaze”room with private onsen and view of Lake Biwako. And we were not disappointed. The room looks newly renovated, and is very spacious with two beds and sitting area plus a tatami room. They offer different dinner packages, and we have chosen crab with steak as the main dishes for the first night, and lobster with shabu-shabu the second night. The foods were of very high quality, tasted and looked very nice. The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide selection of different items. The ryokan is excellent in nearly all aspects. We would stay here again when we next visit Kyoto.

Stayed at Youzanso during late March 2023. It was during the cherry blossom season. We (family of four) had the room with the Lake Otsu view and private bath. The room was sufficient for 4 of us but I wouldn't call it spacious. However, the room and bathroom were clean. The room came with dinner and breakfast for 4 of us and costed about AUD800. The dinner and breakfast was quite good and would recommend to anyone considering the half board. It might get old if u were staying for few days but we were only there for one night. We toured Kyoto for the day and stayed here overnight then went back to kyoto for more sightseeing. It wasn't as convenient as if you stayed in Kyoto but the travel wasn't long or difficult. The property is bit dated and looks more like a hotel than a ryokan. The facilities are clean but also look dated as well. However, the public onsen is great, clean and the outdoor bath is a must. 場所は1号線沿いなので、分かりやすいです。 ただ コンビニ（セブイレ）が 徒歩では少し遠いです。 ホテルから隣のおふろカフェに外に出なくて行けます。 おふろカフェの大衆演劇（お初）めっちゃ盛り上がりました。お勧め！ 部屋がオートロックでカードキーなのでトイレや洗面台が、部屋の外（共用）のためカードを持って行かないと締め出しになるので忘れないように注意！ 戻ったらTVのスイッチが消えているのが 結構 面倒でした。当たり前かな？ 他は静かで大満です。 朝食も和洋とメニューが豊富で美味しかったです。

所用で家族と2泊しました。立地条件から駅近のこちらを選択しましたが、部屋はビジネスホテルタイプで、決して広いわけではありません。清潔には保たれてますか設備の老朽化は否めずに部屋に入り色々目につく箇所がありました。2連泊ですが1泊ずつ予約したためかカードキーが翌日11時に効かなくなりエラー。フロントで話2枚対応してもらうも、また一枚がエラー再びフロントに行くも謝りなく淡々と手続き。チェックイン時からフロントの方にサービス精神は一切感じられず、事務的。こちらのホテルはそう言うのとは無縁のようです。 部屋の清掃も普段1泊の方が多いからか廊下全面を使い各部屋の使用済みリネンをおばちゃんが広げ、廊下も歩きづらいです。エレベーターも1100-1300あたりはリネン運搬のカートにエレベーターを占拠されなかなかきません。寝るだけならいいですが、あの部屋、サービスにしてはやや高く感じます。

This cute Inn is located a good 12 minute walk from any station. However, you are walking through a beautiful residential area of Uji, We are local residents are living. No tourism here. Also restaurants within a few minutes. The room is bigger than most Japanese with a sofa. The bathroom is so cute and compact but perfectly usable and clean. Good water pressure and hot. I enjoyed the Sencha tea In the kitchen area. You re I a your own once you check in and Will be welcome to use the kitchen and dining areas. I would recommend us for a small family

リニューアル前に一度宿泊しましたが、その時はお世辞にもあまり綺麗なお部屋ではありませんでした。今回リニューアル後初めて宿泊しましたが、もはや別宿でした。お部屋も快適で、宇治川の眺望、部屋付き（半）露天風呂も広くて気持ちよかったです。またスタッフさんたちの対応も気持ちよかったですし、時間とお金ができたらまた行きたいです。 ただ3泊中夕食はすべて併設のステーキ懐石のお店だったのですが、最初の2泊まではシェフさんの対応もよく、お肉も柔らかく、大変気持ちよく食事できたのですが、最後の3泊目の夕食時に本来（貸し切り以外では）入店が禁止されている未就学児がおり、それがまたギャーギャーやかましいガキンコで全然ゆっくりできませんでした。どうやらお得意さんのご一家だったようなのですが、やはりその辺の線引きはちゃんとしてほしいと思いました。

PPengguna Tetamu２月初旬、日曜日に入浴付き昼食のコースでお邪魔しました。場所は雄琴温泉の山手の高台にあり、国道からはひと筋裏通りに入り口があるので、注意しておかないと通り過ぎそうになります。専用の取り付け道路の急こう配の坂道を上った突き当りに建物が有ります。車利用でしたが、ホテルに到着するとスタッフさんのお出迎え。昼食だけなのに気の利いた事です。一旦ラウンジでお茶のサービスを頂いたのですが、ここのスタッフは金髪の女性、日本語は大丈夫です。急坂を上ってきただけあって、ラウンジからの見晴らしは非常に良いです。準備が出来ましたと呼びに来られたのでレストランへ移動すると、広い空間に我々一組のみ。申し訳ない気分に包まれました。いただいた昼食は、小鍋の付いた会席の和食料理。小さな器に少しづつ盛付けられた料理が品数多く配膳され、女性に人気のコースと聞いていたので、なるほどと感じました。ただし、小鉢料理は作り置きの物が多かった印象があり、この辺りは価格相応なのかと。昼食を済ませ次はお風呂。フロントの黒服男性スタッフが、大浴場まで道案内をしてくれました。お風呂は大き目の内湯と壁に囲まれた露天、４～５人用のサウナからなっており、お湯は全体的にぬるめ。泉質は弱アルカリ泉だと思うのですが、内湯の方が少しぬめりが感じられる湯のようです。サウナは一般的なドライサウナで、小さな水風呂が有ります。１時間ほどお風呂を堪能して、来たときと同じく数名のスタッフさんに見送られ、ホテルを後にしました。全部で３時間ほどの滞在でしたが、食事やお風呂より、印象に残ったのはスタッフ一人一人の心配りでした。決してお安い宿ではないのですが、サービスの質の高さを考えると、恐らく大半の利用客は納得して帰られる宿だと思います。家が近いので宿泊での利用機会は少ないと思いますが、一度は泊まってみたい気がしています。お世話になりました。

FFanggguomuCame here with family during the Sakura season. It's easy to get to the onset hotel. After arriving at the Ogoto Onsen JR station, towards the south exit you will find a cell phone attached to a board with explanation how to use the phone to call one of the onsen hotels. After the call, their shuttle bus will then come and pick you up between 2pm to 6pm I think. The hotel staff in general are very welcoming. Our family scored a deal with their penthouse suite with private indoor and outdoor onsen. Four of us stayed in the suite and the price is only slightly more than four of us staying in 2 regular rooms. It also came with a beautiful fruit platter for you to enjoy. The suite is very spacious with 2 separate toilets. The bath area has 2 sinks, a shower stall as well as a japanese style bathing area connected to the 2 onsen baths (indoor one is a hinoki wood tub and the outdoor one is a stone one. The outdoor onsen does have a slight privacy issue as there are some residential buildings in a distance. While my mom was a bit too modest to use the outdoor one (which I am not and fully enjoyed it), she did take full advantage of the indoor private onsen. Of course the hotel also has a public onsen for the guests. In fact they have two. One in each towers. I used the one on the top floor in the morning and it was a bless seeing the sunrise while soaking in the hot onsen water. Our package also included both dinner and breakfast that were served at their private dining room. Both meals were done in kaiseki style. We were particularly impressed by their dinner. Not only was it cooked with high quality ingredients and with beautiful presentation, they did not skimp on the quantity as well. Often after eating dinner at other onsen hotel, I would not feel full and actually felt a bit hungry later at night, at Yumotokan the courses kept coming and I was completely stuffed at the end. In fact I did not finish the rice even though it was so yummy (cooked from scratch in front of us with a flamed mini-stove). All in all, a very satisfactory experience. I can recommend anyone who comes to Kyoto/Osaka and wants an excursion and experiences the traditional Japanese onsen.

Mmasayom2014感染対策も徹底されてました。スタッフの方もテキパキされていて、温泉も大変いいお湯でした。24時間お風呂に入れるのはありがたかったです。スタッフの方も感染対策大変だと思いますが、ぜひ今後もがんばって頂きたいです。お料理も大変美味しく、こんなに近くにいいホテルがあるとは感激でした、ゆったりした時間をすごせました。ありがとうございました。また、ぜひ伺いたいです。

This restaurant is located on the second floor of the hotel. Their hours are limited 11:30-2 pm and they only accept reservations for groups at this time. The vegetarian set I ordered was really delicious. There was a little hot pot with soft tofu and other veggies as well as several small side dishes and a soup. Everything tasted fresh and was well-seasoned. I was surprised by how full I was with this meal. The views from the restaurant are beautiful but it was quite foggy when we came. I still loved how serene it felt being on the mountain. *** Tip: take the train to Hieizan Sakamoto St., then take taxi to Sakamoto Cable Car Station or walk 25 minutes, then take cable car to the top. The cable car is the longest in Japan.

PPengguna TetamuVery happy with my experience. I stayed one night in late November 2022 while riding the Biwaichi route. Staff was courteous, efficient, and bilingual. Facility was clean and well organized and - importantly - had indoor bicycle storage. For the equivalent of 28 USD (3700 JPY) I got one of the dorm beds similar to a capsule hotel plus a Thai bento of Gapao rice which was delicious. They also have a nice big public bath as well as individual showers, coin laundry, and some snacks for purchase at the front desk. If you're looking for an overnight rest stop while riding, i recommend this place.

PPengguna Tetamu・どーでも良いですが、トリップアドバイザーのサイトに苦言。このサイトの、誰と一緒に行きましたか ?で、ファミリーの旅行は、「家族（子供連れ）」と「夫婦」しかないのはなぜ？親と行くのですけど。親から見れば子供連れと言えなくもないが日本語としてはおかしい。バリエーションとしては兄弟姉妹も現実的かな。 ・観光の際に素泊まりで1泊しました ・お風呂は温泉ではありません ・2回へは階段のみでエレベータはありません ・琵琶湖直結です ・たまたまですが、琵琶湖でボートの大会があるとかで、学生が多かった

PPengguna TetamuThis was the best part of our trip. We stayed in a room with a private tub and it was the best. We also did the Kobe beef dinner and it was the best food we had our entire trip. It was not to far from Kyoto. The staff was AMAZING!!! My wife is allergic to shellfish and they made us a custom breakfast to accommodate her allergy with out us even asking. My wife literally cried when we left from how much we appreciated their hospitality. Cannot recommend this place enough.

PPengguna Tetamu夏場のバーべキュウや 水遊びで楽しむ人に向いている。食事がないが、この付近は店がない。JR駅を一駅移動すれば食事のできる店あり。食事する必要があるひとは事前に調べたほうがいい。風呂 トイレ 洗面所は １Fで共同 。ベッドは 寝心地よかったが 部屋はせまめ。 管理人は常駐していないので、（すぐ裏に常駐？）プライバシーを大事にするひとにはいいかも。普通のホテル感覚で宿泊するより、大勢でバーべキュウなど目的に利用するのがいい

This is a seinenkan - a facility for youth and youth-related organizations to conduct independent study and recreational activities, many of which have basic accommodation facilities but higher grade facilities than youth hostels. They are located all over Japan. I stayed in a tatami mat room on a floor with shared toilet facilities. The ground floor has a large communal bath - obviously separate for male and females. They have lights out at 11 p.m. and guests must return by the same time. There is a very modern cafe onsite serving cheap breakfasts (see photos) but the cafe closes by 6 p.m. There is a convenience store 10 minutes walk away so I suggest you buy snacks and beverages en route from JR Ishiyama station. For dinner, there is a family restaurant - good value and okay food - about 6 minutes walk away.
The seinenkan is located on a small island by a historic bridge. The views of the river inlet flowing into the main Lake Biwa is relaxing, lots of bird wildlife, and lots of rowers (the seinenkan is a water sports facility too). and the sunrise and sunset views are lovely.
The staff are very kind. It cost me ¥5,500 for one night and I will stay there again if I have the opportunity.
