Hotel berhampiran St George’s Cove, Padstow

This is a great place to stay to enjoy spectacular north Cornwall. It’s very conveniently placed for local shops and supermarkets and just off the Atlantic Highway. Our room was large, comfortable, well maintained and spotlessly clean. We were welcomed by the charming Gabriel who did everything she could to make our stay happy and memorable. Thank you Travelodge for a great stay

The rooms are excellent and as are well advertised mostly consist of 3 cells knocked into one, with one used as a bathroom, the bed in another and the middle room where the TV desk, and entrance is. Given the historical constraints (and the fact they have still managed to insert 'invisible' aircon into a listed building) I think it's only fair to overlook things that would seem odd in a normal hotel, e.g. tiny wardrobe, curtains on an odd shaped rail, windows you can't easily open. As for the breakfast on Sunday 22nd, which 'Bob' correctly identifies as slow, I don't think that the lady at the door was unfriendly at all, it was clear that they were overwhelmed with guests all wanting a later breakfast, and might this perhaps have actually been the hotels issue, for not having enough staff, for whatever reason, rather than blaming one individual? Our actual food was great, and no problems there, they even offered our dog a sausage. They did manage to put out more food on the central table as well, after a delay. Perhaps the unfriendliness, was a reaction to your attitude, 'Bob'?. Monday was a very different experience, with our dog being offered an alternative to sausage; bear in mind the hotel was clearly a lot less busy too.

經濟雙床房太小，兩人睡太擠，一直在防止掉下床，沒睡好。 房間小了，放不開兩個24寸行李箱。 車庫進口太小，RAV4必須收起倒車鏡才能開進去。 除此之外，家庭式旅館很温馨，英式晚餐很棒，甜點也很入口。

This time I couldn't actually get a room booked up, ...............but I still popped in for a lovely meal,.............friendly staff great atmosphere and well done to the chef.........thankyou .................................

King Arthur’s Arms is fabulously located next to a huge car park, yet on Fore Street, which is the Main Street running through Tintagel and about 3 minutes walk to the top of the hill leading down to English Heritage’s Tintagel Castle. On arrival we were checked in at the bar by Jess with a very friendly Cornish welcome. The smell of cleanliness emerged us as we walked up to our huge room with double bed, wardrobe, dressing table, easy chairs and huge bathroom with double walk in shower, sink, toilet and heated radiator. Huge room for Cornwall and immaculate. We chilled out and wandered along and around Tintagel Castle, then back to the pub for dinner. It’s an extensive menu with huge portions. There was no issue with pub noise and we slept well, waking for an extensive breakfast which commences with a choice of pastries and cereals, then Full English, teas, coffees and juices! We were then able to stay parked for a few hours after check out at 10am to wander around Tintagel. Really cannot recommend King Arthur’s Arms enough and particularly so to single parents with kids-safe, friendly and accommodating and shout out to Jess for super friendly service throughout!

Unfortunately (and I believe it’s the manager - shaved head and glasses) is just so rude. Local to the area so we have the ‘locals’ card - which has always been an issue. In the past when we have shown it to the staff they’re like ‘we’ve put it on’ when we actively see they haven’t. We recently had to renew the locals card, and every time the new code given to us doesn’t work. My husband has tried three times, and given his details to the staff three times because they ‘promise it will get sorted’. This last time, the above mentioned manager just had no desire to assist. Quite stiff when we ordered drinks, short with his staff. When we gave him the locals card number he said ‘it’s expired’ and just brought over the PDQ without even trying to look into it. When I expressed that it really didn’t seem fair to not look into as it wasn’t our fault he said ‘well it’s not my fault either! - cutting me off as I was trying to explain that this would now be the third time we have followed the instruction to use the QR code and leave details with them. I just said ‘that’s a bit spicy and rude way to respond but okay’ and walked off to him shouting after me ‘no it’s not really!’ I’m sorry, I do love this place for so many reasons and memories but this manager is just so rude.
