Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa - Relais & Chateaux

I’m a bit worried that the service levels at White Sand have ruined all other hotels for me! We enjoyed a wonderful stay with family (teenage kids) for over a week in July. The property is exquisite, beach stunning and weather perfect. Especially big thanks to Emmanuel our butler during the stay and Khamis who looked after us at dinner every night. I recommend taking the bike tour of a nearby village offered by the hotel, super interesting. And walking up the beach to get out of the resort and try local lunch spots. My only constructive criticism is around allergy labelling on the menus, it would have been useful to see more easily which foods contain nuts. Big thanks to the whole team, The Perry family

We stayed 6 nights at the White Sands in a two bedroom villa. The family villas are a little set back from the beach and come with two bedrooms upstairs and downstairs plus an additional standalone living/dining room. The grounds are beautiful and so tropical with a gorgeous soft sandy beach. There is one main dinner restaurant, and also a beach restaurant outside which serves breakfast and lunch. Whilst we were there it was very windy on a couple of days so breakfast was quite a challenge for the staff. We were the only ones at breakfast so in hindsight should have maybe asked for room service, But the staff were so lovely and charming and dealt with it in the best way they could. We found the food on the a la carte to be quite repetitive and a little bland, we did have an evening with some delicious local dishes but it would have been so much nicer to have more tastier local dishes as a daily option. On our first night we did have a security issue which was bought to our attention the next morning. However after that we received no follow up to the matter, no offer to move us or no gesture of apology whilst there. This did mar our impression and whilst I won’t go into details I will just say always ensure your doors are locked!

Absolutely stunning property, service. It was the perfect way to relax after spending some time in the Masai Mara. Everyone in the property made us feel welcome but in particular our butler Amoni was fantastic. Any request whether it was small or big he took care of it with a smile and no complaints. The thing that impressed me the most was getting a custom made dress by the on site tailor. I bought a few fabrics and the tailor had two dresses done for me in 25 hours. Amoni helped orchestrate it all and I was blown away! I am a world traveler and have never received this level of service. Amoni is a gem!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here and are quite enthused about writing this review. And we would welcome the opportunity to revisit. 1st-Location. Nestled in one of the most beautiful places in the world in Tanzania, this relais & chateaux lives up to the “luxury” in its name plus the natural beauty all around gives it a real authentic vibe. We got a private villa. And our stay at this remarkable place was nothing short of extraordinary, offering a blend of comfort, adventure, and awe-inspiring scenery. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff welcomed us into a world of tranquility and relaxation. The manager was quite kind in accommodating us with some of the amenities for our villa despite our flight having been severely delayed. 2nd-Service. The service was exceptional, characterized by genuine warmth and attention to detail. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction, from arranging surprise sundowner cocktails in a picturesque location to accommodating special dietary preferences with grace and efficiency. Special shoutout to the professional butler that we were assigned, Amoni. He did such a fantastic job in bringing the luxury experience to life for us with his recommendations, detail-orientation, and responsiveness.

This place is paradise. We stayed for 6 nights in a Beachfront Villa with pool and I'd say it's definitely the best accommodation I've ever experienced. The setting is superb. We had direct access to the beach and yet had total privacy. The staff are excellent - warm and always eager to please, nothing is too much trouble. A special mention to our butler Pius (Uncle Pius :)) who was forever on hand to arrange anything and everything. One small negative - the gym area is poor but we were told this is temporary so hopefully when we return it'll get the perfect 10/10. Oh yes .. we'll be returning :)

An amazing place, beautifully decorated, with a lush tropical garden, attention to every small detail, and perfect service! One of the best places to stay in Jambiani and Zanzibar, worth every penny you spend there! Will return with great pleasure!

Nice Hotel but does not have the feel of luxury! We expected more as our agent told us the beaches are private and that was not the case. The meals are good and location central. We found the Island to be extremely expensive for everything but yet it does not have the feel of a luxury destination. Coming to Zanzibar, was probably the worst experience that we had and we travel frequently and will not return again

We came back this morning from one fabulous week at White Sand Villas and absolutely loved every minute of our stay in this wonderful hotel. The location is ideal on a gorgeous beach with a huge stretch of white sand and clear blue water. Very near are restaurants and bars but you won’t want to get out of the hôtel! Our villa 12 was fabulous, big and very well decorated. It has all the comfort you could dream of, and more! I loved the coffee machine with freshly grounded coffee! We had an outdoor terrasse and a jacuzzi which was very pleasant and private. The bedding is excellent and we slept like babies as the hôtel is so quiet with absolutely no noise. Extremely clean in and out, the hotel is really well kept and maintained. The staff is absolutely lovely, disctreet, helpful and very smiling. Always happy to help and totally devoted to the guests. We had the most fantastic butler Amoni! Excellent on every aspect: discreet, helpful, knowledgeable and very pleasant! He made sure everything was perfect for us every single day! He organised a dinner for only my husband and I on the beach for our 25th wedding anniversary! Amoni was also excellent advice for the excursions we did. The food is also one aspect we really enjoyed! Every meal was excellent and very refined. Top quality products, and wonderful cooking. Far from the usual horrific hôtel buffets, the restaurants were incredible quality. Generous portions and tasty meals! Joana, the lovely restaurants manager was extremely helpful, professionnal and pleasant. We enjoyed seeing her at lunch and dinner. We did not try the spa but we visited it and it looked amazing. To sum it up, the White Sand Villa is truly an top class hotel where everything rises above expectations. A true sign of luxury: when the hotel is full you still feel as though you are the only guest in the hotel ! A perfect place to rest as a couple. I cannot wait to come back!

This place is spectacular. Small resort w personalized service. Not over run w crowds of people or children. Stunning villas with a lovely layout - separate living room / dining area from bedrooms. Bathrooms are beautiful and you have an additional shower and tub outdoors! Butler service with professional and friendly staff. Food is amazing and top notch. Staff makes this experience even more special. We found the staff to be friendly helpful and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to help you. Beach is gorgeous - white powder soft sand, blue water. Activities in water were fun. Spa services were incredible! There is even a small game room for kids ( fusball table and PS console ). Do NOT miss out on this beautiful property if coming to Zanzibar! It will exceed your expectations!
